My grandpa gave me a gun but I'm not really into this shit except for stuff like DayZ or Tarkov. I have a buddy who does gunsmith stuff in his garage and he put some enhanced sights and a hair trigger on it. What do you guys think? What other mods can I do to make it shoot better? I want a laser or a reflex site, but I don't know how much that will cost. Any recommendations? Gonna wait for my tax return to do the big mods but if there's a sale I might buy sooner. I'll probably try shooting it when I go to my uncle's farm this summer.

He will not be able to mount a red dot on your gun. You have 2 options.
A) Send the slide to a reputable company to have it machined to accept an RDS.
B) Buy an already milled slide and fit it to your frame and barrel.
Anything outside of those options will suck ass or not work.

You need to buy a red dot, a mill, all the bits for the mill, and a jig to cut the slide.
If you're confident in your buddy then you'll need an adapter plate that matches the footprint of the red dot you're mounting. Holosun 507C has an extensive aftermarket with 1911 dovetail plates available.

first, it's not rice, im having my buddy do it professionally. second my uncle works with the police so worst case scenario if i get in a defense situation and have to use it he can get it back for me. im gonna mod it out so i can actually use it. duh? i need the attachments and i just wanna know the easiest way to do it. if youre not gonna help then don't comment.
It's a smooth frame so sell it and buy a more modern one. It'll cost too much to do what you want.

Lasers make you chase the dot. If you want a defensive handgun then get a proper one and mount a tlr. Being able to identify a target and surroundings is more important than trying to bubba your way into tacticool. If you want a range toy then keep it as is or look into wilson combat springs. Put the rest of the money towards ammo or a safariland and train with it. Get used to the trigger wall and break. Take classes.
the gun is perfectly usable with those sights, holo sights make it harder to conceal and you'd get in trouble with the feds for carrying it, they'd claim that you wouldn't need a reflex sight unless you had intent on killing
