I mean body armor exists, but Russian supersoldiers with Level III hard armor don't exist. I'm pretty sure that's why NATO originally solicited a 9mm replacement.
Who cares about that shit anymore, its an effective caliber and a good choice for home defense due to capacity performance reliability and modernity now with a dot. Soft shooting as fuck. Its like ak fags theres ak fags and people who dabble then the 5.45 nut huggers that you dont understand then shoot a fucking 5.45 ak and are blown away by how soft recoiling it is, 5.7 is nice as fuck and if you have a bitch at home guaranteed she could shoot a 5.7 better more accurately than your fucking riced out glock 19. Cope.
The ammo situation for 5.7 has finally caught up on the civilian side too now that Fiocchi is making it. It's not like the old days when basic range ammo was only made by FN for $1 per round or whatever. I"m trying to find a gun my gf can shoot, so I might pick one of these up since the grip is relatively narrow.
literally every budget copy is more reliable than this Kimber tier "gucci"
All the budget options are ugly as fuck, so I shan't be buying them.
I agree that the old Five Seven we all know and love looks better even if it's kinda goofy. The new version looks so samey like every other plastic pistol on the market even if it's "better."
Safety actually makes a lot of sense and that's coming from someone who wanted to hate it. Very easy to use. It's similar to an AK safety in motion but much easier to access and take off.
Styling wise I think it still looks really unique imo. It got even more block looking while still being narrow at the front like all Five-seveNs. A direct side profile kind of hides the aesthetic you'd see irl.
The gas operated cycling has two benefits for reloaders:
It doesn't matter when the lacquer wears off the case, and you can make them stupid hot without the case neck separating
it also just cool

>Bitch at home
Yeah the recoil on this gun is real light but the slide is moving very fast. It reminded me of my first shots with a M14 with seeing the slide movement.
Also >The best premium ammo is named Black fang obsidian dragon with a product description giving a DnD tier lore explanation of the name.
I agree they ruined the aesthetics, but the optics mount is probably worth it. FN should have added that to the Five Seven 15 years ago when they first made the FNP Tactical.
They added an optics mount, better slide serrations, and squared off all the round edges.

wtf? what did they do to it?
I own both a mk2 and mk3
the design doesn't really bother me
optics mount is great
no tritium sights sucks
but the most egregious offense is the fact that the USG and MK2 magazines DON'T FIT THE MK3
No shit, they really dont? That kind of seems like a massive oversight. Why wouldnt you reuse the same magazine, designing a new one seems like a ton of work if you dont need to.

the MK2 magazine fits in the MK3 if you absolutely slam the fuck out of it, but it feels like it's deforming some part of the grip and doesn't drop free, so I'd be extremely hesitant to do that in anything other than an "i don't give a shit, I'm at the range" setting
it's the baseplates. the old USG and MK2 have a softer curve on the baseplate, while the MK3 has a jagged geometric curve where it meets the grip that doesn't match with the USG/MK2 baseplates
it's an insane oversight. I'd assume FN of being garden gnomey with magazine sales if I wasn't so convinced that it's actually just retardation

Between that and using the wrong mold for scar pistol grips im assuming FN doesnt employ the best engineers money can buy. The fnx fiasco too, although i dont know if thats their fault or a subcontractor making a bad batch of plastic.
SHUT THE FUCK UP AND POST MORE UKRAINE AND RUSSIAN SHIT THREADS FUUUUUUUUCK
to be fair I'd rather see another Uke thread than one more fucking stupid thread that starts with,
>Now that the dust has settled
Those are genuinely the best threads and the top reason I check PrepHole
>go to weapons board

Cringe war tourist

depends on personal use case.
wasted quads on a telegram link. use xmpp.
I like the gen II front end. Wish they had included a more traditional safety but i have limited hands on experience.

Fuck
My fuck am I retarded
three arrows for crossboard links
The ruger 57 is the best 57 handgun ever made, the FN 57 is heavy and has greater recoil and looks ugly and its all polymer magazines flex randomly
You're wrong, the psa rock beats the ruger
Is it too much to ask for a new 5.7 pistol that actually looks cool or unique?
s&w 5.7 w. tempo barrel tho
shame the mags are a toss-up on whether they eat shit or not and tempo barrel fucks suppressors
What's the point of the tempo barrel anyway?

>s&w 5.7 w. tempo barrel
I honestly find it pretty generic, tbh. The barrel being the only real differentiator between it and any other M&P
Its fucking great. Red dot was all it needed. Shut up about the safety.

you're not going to get many positive answers from the people who don't shoot it n

In other words, made it fucking soulless
It's alright but I prefer buying a zeus alongside the dual berettas and a nade or two. Gotta spread out that round 1 cash
