Now that mobilization is a thing, how deep will Russians dig to equip their zerg rush?

They are already using T-62. Now with more cannon fodder how deep will this rabbit hole go? T-55? T-34-85M? Oldschool T-34?

Will AK-47 stocks ever dried out and will we see PPSh used in combat by actual Russian troops?

I wonder, by the time this war is over, how many hundreds of times I will have to explain that Russia does not keep T-34s in reserve, nor does the US keep M48s and M60s. Russia has about two dozen for parades and films, the US has a palmful of M60s for radar testing and as gate guards

                >When the armor inserts are missing everything goes
Not exactly, there is still enough steel in there to stop anything short of 40mm APFSDS. Tragically, CV90 kino seems unlikely.
                >Does anyone have those pics of t72 lacking it’s turret armor inserts?
No, but I'm curious about what you are referring to. Are you talking about all the tanks that have been found with empty ERA arrays, or that one T72B (maybe T80U?) that was found with an empty glacis composite array. In that latter case, I don't think anyone stole the fucking fiberglass panels, as those aren't going to be worth much until we start seeing airsoft conversions of soviet surplus vehicles, which leaves me with the conclusion that they just fell out while the tank was exploding.

Less than you might think. Those old stocks have been pillaged pretty thoroughly. The reason you are seeing T62s before old school homogenous turret T72s is becaude the T62 was (relative to the T55) an export failure. It just wasn't as profitable to steal the parts. You can't say the same for the T55.
I doubt they will throw in their T34-85s as those, much like the T14, are precious relics of the death cult, for parades only. They already scrapped or sold off the fleet, so their current bunch of T34s were bought from Laos.
You might see AKMs or even SKS, especially in rear echelon troops, but remember they won't have even a fraction of what was initially stored and reported.

That they don't have anymore. I think they had to buy the T-34's they parade with from Vietnam or Korea.

They're using T-62's right now, meaning that their T72's and T80's are of questionable condition. They could go as far back as T55's... But I think they'll be busy restoring T72's and T80's through cannibalism before they get there.

The current record tank-wise is a few T-62 Obr.1975s mixed in with the T-62Ms seen driving around. T-62 Obr. 1972s are likely to emerge, lacking even the laser rangefinder. Not that those deployed on the Obr.1975s or -Ms are in good working order or actually even fitted still.

T-55Ms were supposedly all scrapped or sold to Africans by now but there might be a secret stash of ex-Naval Infantry ones (retired 2013) left somewhere. Sending the parade T-34s is funny but even less likely than Armata to actually appear outside of propaganda.

Which leaves the OG T-62 Obr.1960/67 as the bottom of the barrel for proper tanks. Keep an eye out for any T-62s missing the mounting hardware for the commander's AA machine gun, picrel.

Sorry, I just need to correct one thing.
      >commander's AA machine gun
That's actually over the loader's hatch. Don't know why, but the T55 and T62 had the loader turn out to shoot the machinegun, rather than the guy who needs to keep his head poked out to maintain situational awareness.

There is a remote possibility it's successor T-10M could be reactivated. Officially removed from mothball/ scrapped after the USSR collapsed but if any survive they could be returned to service like that display IS-3 from 2014. They still have technically safe-to-fire ammo stored for the reservists' D-74 AT guns.

Buy some nice winter gear, most of us have a warped perspective on the cold since a warm car or building is rarely more than 30min away. Issued gear will keep you alive but you will suffer dearly. Varusteleka has a great selection of appropriate gear. Don't need to buy it from them, but browse their catalog and help articles for ideas of what will help you stay both warm and combat-capable. Then you can look for stuff available at local prices.
