Not a?

Not a /k/ guy, but Im into 40k and these new squats bolters annoy me. I assume the diagonal shell feed wouldn’t work irl?

Bolters already wouldn't work so I don't see much difference.

these two statements have nothing to do with each other

It's wierd how you just throw that out there like that means anything to what I said. Like you just assumed that because I stated that bolters are moronic I must be confused as to what they are.
40kers are like bots that just go through a script.
        >If comment [negative] [bolter]
        >Go to [Define:Bolter]

Wait till you find out that in earlier editions writers frequently said they were one stage gyrojets or just regular fricking rifles with no rocket propulsion. Hey for a good while there was even a consistent plot point that Space Marines could catch, dodge, or deflect bolts fired at close range because they were not supersonic "yet", lol.

The first part of your post is objectively correct, but no that was never a plot point, it was one scene, in one book, where a character incurs a defensive GSW from a bolt pistol, and it didn't tear their head off because their hand is a space marine hand. Plenty of people cover their face with their hand only to be shot through it IRL, and the fact that spergs interpreted this to mean boardgame initiative value 4 = The Flash is why I quit the game

Look I'm inclined to not argue with you just because you approved my shitpost but I refuse to believe there is anyone on /k/ who has read every single book with a space marine in it.

Nah a bolter probably would work they'd just have tiny magazine capacity and massively expensive ammo. Which in the RPG rules is the case.

It's black library man, especially 90s Black Library. The 3 libtards in there today are bad enough but we used to have Ian Watson. We have writers who don't know what a newton is writing about the yield of space weapons that are described flattening continents in a single broadside that couldn't blow up a car if their yields were as written. How tall are Warlord titans? Until 1996 the answer could be 80m or 2 miles. Gdubs is a clusterfrick and always has been.

      Regarding Squats
      TOTAL GLYPHID DEATH
Kill glyphids. Behead glyphids. Roundhouse kick a glyphid into the concrete. Slam dunk a glyphid baby into the barrel hoop. Crucify filthy glyphids. Defecate in a glyphids mouth. Launch glyphids into the sun. Stir fry glyphids in a wok. Toss glyphids into active bulk explosions. Urinate into a glyphids nest. Judo throw glyphids into a Fat Boy shot. Twist glyphids heads off. Report glyphids to Management. Karate chop glyphids in half. Curb stomp pregnant glyphids. Trap glyphids in sticky flames. Crush glyphids with the drill dozer. Liquefy glyphids in a vat of goo. Eat glyphids. Dissect glyphids. Exterminate glyphids in the gas chamber. Stomp glyphid skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate glyphids in the drop pod thruster. Lobotomize glyphids. Mandatory abortions for glyphids. Grind glyphid fetuses in the mineral grinder. Drown glyphids in fried praetorian grease. Vaporize glyphids with a Shard Defractor. Kick old glyphids down the pod stairs. Feed glyphids to elves. Slice glyphids with a Breach Cutter. Drive over glyphids with a Land Train. Draw and quarter glyphids with trikes.

A tetrajoule post, I thought I'd seen the last of their kin.

You'll need some kinda hook or scoop mechanism probably but its doable.

Bolters are a good idea if we didn't have smart missile technology already and they would work just fine.

a two stage system introduces exponentially more possibility for malfunction for extremely minor gains, and loads of extra negatives.

it's safe to assume they can engineer some bullshit elevator to properly feed.

Lots of firearms feed into the chamber at a diagonal angle, it just needs to have the bolt and feed ramps set up for it.

Plenty of pistols use a diagonal feed angle for stubby cartridges

I think the mag placement makes things more improbable than its angle. It looks kinda neato but the mag being in that position relative to the trigger guard means there's going to have to be some serious finagling going on in there if you want to get the shells into the chamber, because you can't put anything directly behind the cartridge like you would normally. Maybe you could take the Kriss Vector's bolt design where it folds downwards instead of going straight back and flip it upside-down so that it moves upwards into the rest of the reciever? A lot of pistol caliber magazines that I've seen have the cartridges noticeably angled upwards anyways simply because they're so chodeish, so even if this angle is a bit extreme it's not totally infeasible.
And even then there's the possibility that it's just a chaingun with some magical short kings space magic that just lifts them up electrically.

I would think you would be more annoyed at the new squats existing. Most people that wanted them back wanted the old ones back.
