Noguns here. I was wondering, if you shoot a man once in each limb, is he able to get up on his own?

Noguns here. I was wondering, if you shoot a man once in each limb, is he able to get up on his own? Because i was thinking about a form of "non lethal" execution on a short story i'm writing, and i came up with this one

    Depends on where.

For every limb you get shot through you lose blood. There are average values for that but you certainly will not survive the untreated blood loss of being shot in arms and legs.

Anon, limbs have veins and arteries. Hitting a guy in the femoral is not non-lethal.

As in "not immediatly lethal", sort of a mock execution. Only that mock executions arent supposed to kill or cripple you, just scare one to death

being shot in the centre of each limb will 100% kill you if untreated

then you want your executioner character to shoot this person in the leg or the foot, and then get this person medical treatment after a while. you can't really get shot in all limbs without med-atten and survive.

That's not what an execution is, you nonce. Why are you even writing anything? Go play some video games or something.

Depending on the cartridge, it can either be easy to heal, albeit time consuming, or fricking impossible.

Take the humble 5.56 as an example; even civilian-grade lead core will cause a shockwave the moment it impacts bare flesh, creating a gnarly wound.

Military-grade ammo is even more ridiculous, since it retains more momentum due to the weight of the steel-core, plus the slightly higher pressure ammo.
The resulting shockwave, upon collapsing, will suck in air and compress it fast enough to create an explosion, making the flesh wound even worse.

    Here's proof:

    ?t=30

depends on the calibre of the round but a rifle round will explode a bone if you hit it and the thigh bone is both excruciatingly painful to break and also utterly wrapped in massive blood vessels.

limb injuries are a massive source of mortality in war which is why soldiers get tourniquets.

depends on a lot of factors you haven't listed here but generally speaking, getting deliberately shot 4 times from 10 meters or less would at least incapacitate a subject and if it's some manner of execution then I can't imagine medical aid being rendered

it would be almost impossible on the leg shots not to sever or at least severely damage a major artery, and without medical intervention or at least a tourniquet the subject would die

that's without discussing shock - the medical condition that is. Or hydrostatic shock - the condition caused when your circulatory system is interrupted by a sudden force, like a ripple in a pond, since blood is just fluid after all. Google those

while I can imagine somehow a person surviving this, since there are at least examples like pic related, there were often very serious mitigating circumstances such as spoiled ammo, grazing shots and simple luck at play. what you described would kill a person in most cases. I cannot imagine surviving without being severely and permanently crippled. Pic related certainly did not have a good time surviving

But what about the adrenaline rush? I saw plenty of people getting magdumped because they just couldn't stop moving.

Unless it's some punny round it's just a fricked up way of killing someone.
It might work if you are using rubber bullets.

You could get shot in one leg once and still die in a matter of minutes if the bullet hits you directly on an artery.

Its called a "six pack" anon, the IRA did it to people they considered traitors, you can look up the details. Extremely unpleasant.

Depends on the calibre and the placement. A through and through in each limb would be relatively survivable with basic first aid. However if each shot hit and shattered bone it would be a pretty miserable death.
