Putin might be leading his country to ruin in an absolutely gay war but the man is completely unrivalled when it comes to cleaning house to consolidate his power. We're talking about a guy who killed hundreds of his own people by bombing apartment buildings so that he could scare the country into a second war with the Chechens and drum up support for his presidential run. Not to mention the hundreds of people he's assassinated before Prigozhin. I have no idea how a man who was in Putin's inner circle and saw how he operated for decades couldn't have seen this coming.

Prigozhin thought he was giving Putin an off-ramp with his mutiny. He didn't start out blasting Putin, he was all but telling Putin publicly "Let's just throw Shoigu (and Gerasimov) under the bus for this whole thing, and end this war which clearly hasn't gone as planned, while salvaging your reputation." Putin didn't take the offer, because he's either in an info-bubble or just a delusional retard and thinks he can still win.

I wouldn't put money on it, but it is POSSIBLE that the aircraft malfunctioned due to poor / no maintenance, drunk pilot, older tech lacking safety features etc. Do we think that the red army choir were taken out (by the state) when most of them died in that plane crash?

Lmao even the US Department of Defense are considering it was a case of a bomb inside the plane. Would fit the plane having a severed wing too.

      Anonymous

anon the wing came off in the footage available with burning trail coming out of it. What everyone familiar with airframe construction will tell you is that the wings are strongest part of any air hull. Literally the last to come off from mechanical failure. Burning trail just indicated the fuel tanks in the wings were ruptured and on fire. Before the flight attendant commented on her social media on how there were unusual repairs done on the plane before departure

FSB/GRU gangsters planted explosives into the wings. Completely in line with their usual MO like when they bombed the moscow apartment buildings back during the rise of monke

To be fair.... it's been known to happen with some designs, but I think only bombers/water tankers that ridiculusly stress out the wing root.
I do find humorous the idea that it was just mechanical failure and now Putin is facepalming because he has to play into it.

I still laughed, but that was the fault of Kaczyński and his cult of personality, funnily enough at the time there was a huge circus about who's worthy enough to fly together with His Retarded Majesty (despite such details as the chief commanders of different armed forces branches being expressly forbidden to travel together SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID RISKING THIS SHIT), and no pilot dared to go against his demands to ignore safety rules after what he killed the career of the pilot that did it earlier in Georgia).

Also, the best argument for that crash not being Russians was that we literally had our armed forces decapitated and it was the best time to invade ever, if it were a planned assassination we'd have a Crimea-style green men in Podlasie within 48h.

They support United Russia on every important issue and just serve as a way to get old USSR loving pensioners to feel like there is hope for its return. In reality the Russian leadership never want a return to that because they made billions off of the privatization that followed the dissolution.

      >Putin and friends care more about keeping power than losing the war.

Here’s the catch, if they lose the war, they lose power.

If Putin had ordered a nationwide ceasefire after the retreat from Kiev and offered the Ukrainians status quo antebellum in exchange for permanently ceding Crimea and other territories they had already lost prior to the death invasion, then all of this could have been swept under the rug as a “wow that happened” moment and we would have all gone back to not caring about Ukraine. But at this point, it’s ride or die. He’s gambled everything on this war and he has to win or he’s liable to die in a basement in Yekaterinburg.

Call me paranoid but I think if backed into a corner, the man has become so consumed by narcissism that he will fire what’s left of Russia’s nuclear arsenal at NATO as one last middle finger. If can’t win, nobody else will either.

I am going to stay positive and believe that there are still some russhits with doubts within his circle who might not be able to stop the conventional war, but are able and willing to put a bullet through the geriatric's head if he seriously starts to consider nuking NATO

The whole "they must win or lose power" is bs Russians are so buckbroken they will see the loss and go "well if he decided to withdraw, that's what had to be done, he knows best, can we go back to selling oil now?" and go on with life.

Putin wasn't exactly backed into a corner during the Wagner Mutiny. If anything, Prigozhin was.

Just because the road to Moscow was open, doesn't mean that Prigozhin was going to be able to take and hold it. Wagner was less than 10,000 strong and Rosgvardia has over a quarter of a million men under arms. That's not even counting the conventional Russian Army. Even a relatively minor delaying action fought by the Moscow police could have allowed Putin the breathing room to fly in sufficient troops from other parts of Russia to put down the uprising.

            Anonymous

There was chatter about the possibility of Preggo controlling part of the nuclear arsenal, he passed very close a base on his way to Moscow.
You also need to consider that this would have been way closer, not all forces were going to fight on Putin's side, specially after starting a war like Ukraine's.
Still Putin managed to weaponize patriotism in such a way that any attack against him is an attack against Russia, which is unacceptable for people like Pringles.

Being at peace with it would imply they understand the full picture and have chosen to accept it warts and all, but Russians are some of the most historically illiterate people on earth. They don't know what those flags mean. To them they're just the other Russian flags and Russia is #1 so other flags #1 too.

My own uneducated opinion is its a consequence of the current crisis of purpose. You see the same shit in the west, people are clamoring for anything that will give them purpose in the current era of nothingness. Right now there is ideological schizophrenia but i think there will be a synthesis eventually. Who knows what will come out of it though, things never quite turn out how we expect them to and new technologies are always an x factor.

Because the supposedly "underlying" ideology in Russia is always just a surface level mask moron-rigged onto the previously existing amalgamation of Russianness. There isn't really a difference but colour between the Soviet Union and the Tsarist Empire. It's all just Russianness.

Conservatives do not think in objective terms and can be easily duped into thinking that *anything* applies to them relatively. All you need to say is, "X is good and X applies to YOU!" and they will all mindlessly start circling around X.

Its called dialectics and the USSR was intentionally meant to be a synthesis of what came before (the RU empire) with what came against it (Bolshevism). This was to be a transition stage to lead into the next "phase" that would be a new, form without the remains of the RU empire: actual communism. But that didn't happen because its fucking ridiculous. Communist China is also meant to be a synthesis, with Xi now today trying to create a synthesis of Mao with Deng's reformed China.

Basically in theory its the thesis coming into conflict with the antithesis and the logic following into both merging into a synthesis german 19th century autism Hegel, Marx, Engels, blah blah blah in practice its this:

                >the USSR was intentionally meant to be a synthesis of what came before

I disagree that it was intentional, the synthesis is what organically emerged out of the struggle of both bolshevism and Tsarism. which is what i believe is happening worldwide as we speak, especially with the advent of the internet the synthesis that forms might be a real surprise.

However it can be intentionally formed or forced as you have said that Xi is attempting to do. time will tell how successful he will be.

I think Xi is failing if he’s trying to bring back Maoist pre-reform style thinking and governing. I don’t think he’s trying that at all tbqh. I think the most obvious turns under Xi have been
                >increased personal power
                >decoupling
                >increased nationalism of the population
                >increased militarisation of the state
                >increased state powers over industry
                >a less flexible and fluid government in terms of policy
                >big foreign policy shakeups, walking loudly where they used to walk softly, etc
I honestly think he has more in common with Chiang Kai-shek than Mao, except Chiang had much less personal authority and was more retarded

That may be how the media spins it but as always the real factor is artillery. Vaginakeks were a boogeyman for the media and Putin played it up but now they're gone and forgotten. No rebellion, no revenge for prickys death, vaginakeks get nothing.

Most of Russian forces are not Wagner (duhhhh). BUTTT post early zerg rush, Wagner proves to be the only Russian force capable of conducting offensive operations "effectively". Them being out of the war just means Russia 100% has completely lose any strategic initiative. Bakhmut is Russian operation Citadel, and its like if Hitler do a Night of the Long Knives purge style against the Wafen-SS after Kursk.

Wagner was gaining ground while Surovikin was in charge, when by all accounts they were getting far more fire support and priority of resources than any of the Russian army regulars, often directly at the expense of the regular army. When Surovikin was replaced, suddenly Wagner became completely ineffectual as a fighting force. There were certainly veteran troops within Wagner's ranks. The organization took pains to retain veterans by using prisoners as disposably as possible. That strategy however never paid off. Wagner could barely take a town right next to the pre-invasion border, even with a blank check from their general. If they were folded into the regular army or simply retained while only receiving nominal support, there's no reason to think they would perform any better than other units.

A opposed to the RuAF that conduct failed mechanized assaults with 0 wins? Svieredonetsk is the only win RuAF had post mariupol and that is only because wagner took popasna. Maybe, just maybe the most competent officers that understand how to c&c and offensive at the operational level belongs to wagner. That movie best in hell gives me the impression, compare that to the winter offensive.

We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had corruption, we had nepotism, we had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork! You could have shut your mouth, undermined the west, and made as much money as you ever needed! It was perfect! But no! You just had to blow it up! You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man! If you’d done your job and known your place, we'd all be fine right now!
