egypt has the bigger and better armed military but ethiopia has a very defensible position in the mountains and a country as a buffer so i doubt anything will happen other then heated arguments

they've been talking about this war being a "near" thing for like close to 10 years now

The dam project affects Sudan as well and pisses them off just as much, so most likely Egypt should be able to get Sudan on their side if they were to work out a deal

Ironic, considering Egypt and Sudan used to have their own high tensions and disagreements over Sudan's dams.

Geopolitiucal mastermind Ethiopia will unite Egypt and Sudan.
And for their next trick, they will find a way to unify Somalia.

Well, Egypt might be able to try and bomb the dam. But both countries are hilariously inept, so what would likely happen is that the Egyptian jets crash before delivering the payload, but the Ethiopian air defense somehow leaves their AA in ground attack mode and destroy the dam by accident themselves.

People have been talking about water wars and the dammed Nile for years.

Egyptian Air Force has done plenty of bombing runs with their jest before. They most likely will receive US assistance and in terms of intelligence and reconnaissance.

What about Sudan and South Sudan?

They will just have to roll over for the war, like Belgium and the Netherlands. There's nothing that can be Su-done to stop it.

      >South Sudan?
Sits off to the side on the other main leg of the Nile so no one really has any reason to go visit them and we can have a really major war here without any shrapnel reaching their borders. The whole place is also a complete clusterfrick so odds are they won't have much ability to involve themselves even if they somehow decided they wanted to.

Sudan has been split in two by a long-ass civil war, they are basicaly sand monkeys with barely functioning ak-47s and flip-flops, any semi-professionally armed force could just walk over them.

It cannot be fixed. In other parts of the world you might be able to propose an economic alliance with water sharing but this will fail miserably until the pole flip and israelites massacre those too strong to be slaves with further vaccines.

Going to war over a circle, really?
Circles arent even real, they are a made up construct of geometry. What is the circle made of, what does it contain? I don't think they are referring to the circle on that map because it is just drawn there and does not exist in real life

    Why are nogs like this?

They didn't agree not to build the dam. They agreed to fill it slowly, which they also didn't do btw, but that really is a moot point because now it is built and full, and all the terror stories Egypt told never came to pass. There won't be a war, it would be pointless. Attacking the Dam would damage Egypt way more than not doing so, Ethiopia won't even reduce flow anymore given that would damsge the dam by overloading it, and therefore no one even has any reason to care. Black folk built a dam. Whoopty freaking do. This entire debacle has been nothing but a massive spergout between two african shitholes.

Ethiopians have a pretty good track record for not taking any shit from anyone. Would honestly be pretty wild if a war like that were to kick off.

There’s a reason Egypt has been controlled by foreign powers for 1000+ years. The great power that controls up the river, controls the Egyptians. In Egypt invades, the flow of the Nile is cut, and Egypt folds over.
