Precisely. Because the concept of an MRAP was unheard of at the time. Hence why your cope is such a huge cope. Its not 2007, its 2022, protected mobility is the norm in near every army on the planet (except Russia).
no it wasn't they'd been doing it since the 70s or 80s in Africa
and the Europeans had better armored vehicles like the VAB and Fuchs for troops than open air technicals
>no it wasn't they'd been doing it since the 70s or 80s in Africa
For the United States and Europe? Yes. It was unheard of. And its not "Africa" it was one, obscure, pariah, who was doing it in Africa and only one obscure country that had the IP to make them.
>and the Europeans had better armored vehicles like the VAB and Fuchs for troops than open air technical
The Americans had the Stryker, and more of them. You're posting 2nd and 3rd line units who had zero armor and are making a plan.
Its literally the biggest fricking cope I have ever seen. If the Russians were making mad max shit in 2007, yeah, its no biggie. But its 2022, everyone has protected mobility distributed through their force (except them).

As has been explained to you, in the year 2004 protected mobility was a novel concept in the West. The fact that you're rambling about M113's doing 400 mile round-trip supply runs (I guess the driver will just hold his breath when they full it with fuel) makes me think this is some sort of elaborate ruse.

Ironically, they organically developed an MRAP themselves in the field. All an MRAP is, is a monocoque crew compartment that is separate from the engine and suspension. If they whacked on a v-hull it would be complete.

Mounting cope armor on vehicles has a long tradition stretching as far back as WW2 at least. Some US officers were particularly mad about troops' insistence on mounting useless "protection" that slowed vehicles down and increased fuel consumption. Overstocking on shells and fuels kept inside the crew compartment was similarly a problem in the US and UK armored vehicles.

IIRC there was a case where come technicians decided to armor up a cargo glider meant for transporting a general on D-Day. Except they werent aircraft technicians and did it without paying any attention to maximum weight or center of gravityf the plane ... nor did they bother with telling the pilot about the modifications before lift-off. Naturally the glider dropped from the sky like a stone once they released the towing rope connecting it with the DC-3 amd everybody died.

To clarify, they did not bring enough troops
Shinseki and others wanted to saturate the country half a million+ troops
Rummy and his Army Transformation and out in 6 weeks dreams rejected this and they went down the list of generals til they found one willing to say Yes Sir, we can do it with a hundred thousand men
which is why as this person

Army transformation was thought out long before Bush II came to office.

Security vehicles have been mine resistant for decades. The US was just moronic and sent their guys in with fricking humvees. Even the US had the M1117 for the very purpose of policing a nation of potential troops but decided it was logical to use unprotected/barely pistol resistant shitboxes with no floor protection.
South Africa was doing this decades before. Casspirs/Buffels were literally MRAPs before MRAPs were a coined term.

Yes. And until 2007, when the first MRAP was delivered to the US Army, they were the sole operators of MRAPS.
fyi, first delivery of an MRAP was 2007. Delivery of MRAP 10 000 occurred on Feb 22 2009.
your argument kinda collapses when we remember this isn't the first time US soldiers have had to do this

Due to pressing need they would make an adhoc gun truck by simply putting a mobility kill 113 on the back to get it back into service
>Now what is to be said about a military and generals who do not learn from prior mistakes and repeat them?
Again, MRAP's were a largely unheard of concept. Evidence: Only one country used them. Christ, OP made you seethe something bad.
>in the West?
Yes. Casspir and Buffel are literally "Western" designs. South Africa was a Western nation. Britain's Saxons, which predate the Casspir and Buffel, were designed to deflect mines with a V-shaped hull and they were designed to protect soldiers in the Troubles, literally a police action vs insurgents. >pictures you posted
I haven't posted a single picture here. >Yes. And until 2007, when the first MRAP was delivered to the US Army, they were the sole operators of MRAPS.
Except, y'know, France, Britain and so forth that had wheeled APCs with mine resistant hulls and armour, possibly with the ability to return fire on ambushers.
>Yes. Casspir and Buffel are literally "Western" designs. South Africa was a Western nation
I am South African, we are certainly not Western.
>Saxon
The v-hull is not the prime element of an MRAP. Its the monocoque hull and designing it so that the engine, suspension and drive train detach from the hull in the event of a blast. Its also ground clearance. The Saxon was famously a piece of shit which the British got rid of ASAP in Iraq.
I mean, if your critism is "The US Army was unable to tell the future". Sure.
>What are v shaped hulls anon and why are they on vehicles from the 1960s?
South African vehicles fighting a very specific war? British saxons fighting that same specific war? A type of war America had no intention of getting in?

Nope. M1117 production in serious numbers only started after invasion of Iraq. US army had total 49 of those in inventory when they invaded Iraq. When they decided that humvee wasn't ideal patrol vehicle for occupation of Iraq and stated ordering M1117's in quantity in 2005 it took them few months reach monthly production of about 60 vehicles.

Because neocohens really expected Iraqis to be really happy after they had been liberated from Saddam. Rainbows, unicorns and shit. They had absolutely no plan at all what to do about the country once occupied.

I'm not laughing because some individual mobik decided to marginally improve their chances of survival, I'm laughing because they're doing it while they're still fighting a conventional conflict. I guess the Russians may have lost Soledar, or they've finally realised how far they've fallen because they're creaming themselves over a pile of rubble and a hole that contains almost as much salt as they produce on a daily basis.
My guess? The Russians are busy infighting so badly, they CAN'T praise Soledar for fear of promoting Wagner OR the Ministry Of Defense. Both factions have bad blood.

Soleder not actually taken
Time to post americans and cope
the mrap didnt start development until 2007, 4 years after the war started.
check this one out, its straight out of the codex for 40k orks.
>The Americans had the Stryker
oh yeah that reminds me, they had the Mowag Piranha too
You're really so triggered you're going to spend the next couple hours posting guntrucks from pog outfits?
It just one thread its funny as frick
>they're only pog outfits who cares if they are poorly equipped and being sent to the slaughter
Are you the ghost of Donald Rumsfeld?
>humvee is a technical
that.... is actually a 100% correct classification...shockingly enough.
never thought about it that way.
IIRC, W was trying to wage war on the cheap. what was the number quoted? 80billion dollars? why didnt they send the 113s? to expensive to transport?
>why didnt they send in M113's
Because they are shit at hauling loads you fricking 12 year old.
what loads are being hauled here?
>what loads are being hauled here?
MP's? Engineers? Civil Affairs? You tell me you're the one who pulled the image.
>civil affairs are doing armed patrols
>woah! You mean to tell me some soldiers dont live where they work???!?!
As has been explained to you, in the year 2004 protected mobility was a novel concept in the West. The fact that you're rambling about M113's doing 400 mile round-trip supply runs (I guess the driver will just hold his breath when they full it with fuel) makes me think this is some sort of elaborate ruse.
umm...
why is protected mobility a novel concept when APCs have been around since WWII? fricking halftracks and shit are better than alot of these hillbilly humvees
>tracked vehicle
>mobility
>logistics
>the US Army did not have M113's, Stryker's, LAV-25's, AAV's, M117's...
Allah give me strength.
>now who is the chairforce
You're told its your turn in the coffin
what do you do?
nothing can stop the Gavin
Ironically, they organically developed an MRAP themselves in the field. All an MRAP is, is a monocoque crew compartment that is separate from the engine and suspension. If they whacked on a v-hull it would be complete.
that armor is fricking worthless.
holy frick.
MAYBE against 9s?
should have shopped for armor at Crazy Achmeds Scrap Yard where they've declared a jihad on the price of all pipes
those isis tanks have fricking soul.
I think that is Kurds
Pretty sure thats fiction from Saving Private Ryan. An Lt tells that story to Tom Hanks and that paratrooper assembly area.
This would be sucked off in any other thread and rightfully so
But doing so here would give credence to the orks kek
Rumsfeld and the necons had their Army Transformation dream for rapid, frequent, and multiple deployments done on the cheap and quickly withdrawn
they really thought they would be greeted as liberators and be out in 6 weeks
(presumably to then invade Syria or Iran)
yep, strategic mobility for 113s too low for neocon fantasies/delusions. thank god they are fricking dead.
To clarify, they did not bring enough troops
Shinseki and others wanted to saturate the country half a million+ troops
Rummy and his Army Transformation and out in 6 weeks dreams rejected this and they went down the list of generals til they found one willing to say Yes Sir, we can do it with a hundred thousand men
which is why as this person
observes they did not have the troops to protect supply lines
>Shinseki
holy frick that name brings me back.
im having flashbacks of the hearings in congress were he wanted "on the order of several hundred thousand".
that also sounds identical to the frickup the russians did in kiev, btw.
But you are aware that the equipment and deployment strategy was already devised at least a decade prior? Do you have any idea how military procurement and force structure development work? The lead times are substantial.
Army transformation was thought out long before Bush II came to office.
are those decades old plans also why they rejected senior leaderships request for half a million+ troops and instead insisted it be done with just a hundred thousand?
hivemind
btw, take a close look at the cab gunner - there is a bun poking out under the helmet. That's a woman.
Is this the work of a bot?
US Army did have a few dozen Fuchs left over from the end of the Cold War for NBC recon in Europe, I think a couple were sent to Iraq when they were searching for the nonexisitent WMD program
>concept of an MRAP was unheard of
Security vehicles have been mine resistant for decades.
>Security vehicles have been mine resistant for decades
In the West? No. None. Zero.
> Even the US had the M1117 for the very purpose of policing a nation of potential troops
The overwhelming majority of pictures you have posted are for 2nd and 3rd line units.
Delivery of MRAP 10 000 occurred on Feb 22 2009.
your argument kinda collapses when we remember this isn't the first time US soldiers have had to do this
in Vietnam they had to cobble together guntrucks due to a lack of proper protection
>they also did it before MRAP's were a thing.
>I... its like Keive!
Well, the American army did not turn tail and run. They also didnt have a 40 mile traffic jam. They also didnt lose a dozen BCT's. They also (famously) caputred every major city in Iraq. So not quite.
But it is nice to know a seething Russophile is behind all this.
nah, im american.
i just like pointing out the massive fricking hypocrisy in the narrative that you discord trannies and psyops posters try to push.
youve been shitting up /k/ for like 3 years straight now, to the point that it is impossible to actually discuss weapons on the weapons board because of your hyper partisanship. its fun (and easy) to trigger the frick out you.
>i just like pointing out the massive fricking hypocrisy
Its not hypocrisy. Its a stupid fricking comparison.
>triggered!
People dont mock you when they are "triggered". They mock you when you act a fool.
>It's different
>I'm not seething
>Seethes harder
Werent you complaining about how /k/ has gone to shit just a second ago?
>/k/ is one person

>i am a slaviboo who was absolutely obnoxious about vatBlack person equipment for years and have been absolutely ass blasted at the fact that people are making fun of Russia's comically bad performance
You still didn’t disprove any of his points. I don’t like how the board degenerated into a Russia vs Ukraine board either, but you’re not even trying.
Now what is to be said about a military and generals who do not learn from prior mistakes and repeat them?
Due to pressing need they would make an adhoc gun truck by simply putting a mobility kill 113 on the back to get it back into service
>Now what is to be said about a military and generals who do not learn from prior mistakes and repeat them?
Again, MRAP's were a largely unheard of concept. Evidence: Only one country used them. Christ, OP made you seethe something bad.
>King Cobra
that sure does look like a chariot fit for the King
>in the West?
Sure.
>in the west, no
What are v shaped hulls anon and why are they on vehicles from the 1960s?
Or why did the Germans start building the ATF Dingo 1999?
>What are v shaped hulls anon and why are they on vehicles from the 1960s?
South African vehicles fighting a very specific war? British saxons fighting that same specific war? A type of war America had no intention of getting in?
brass was very opposed to it
and still is wanting to phase them out for an expanded hummer
judging from the eagle that is an iraqi operated vehicle, also it looks very competently modified
Still seething
I don’t see a problem other than visibility being ass and that’s only the front that is armored.
also remember that while soldiers were having to cobble together hillbilly armor this was sitting on bases in the US and M113s were sitting in Kuwait and Saudi
Those were used all the time. Most of the junkyard specials were being done by supply units who were having to do runs from Kuwait deep into Iraq. Hence why the vehicles have machineguns all over them.
>Those were used all the time. Most of the junkyard specials were being done by supply units who were having to do runs from Kuwait deep into Iraq. Hence why the vehicles have machineguns all over them.
interesting....
so like.... the supply lines were not being protected?
and the supply units were getting fricked up?
does that sound like the battle of keiv to anyone?
sounds like it to me.
>IIRC, W was trying to wage war on the cheap. what was the number quoted? 80billion dollars? why didnt they send the 113s? to expensive to transport?
Because neocohens really expected Iraqis to be really happy after they had been liberated from Saddam. Rainbows, unicorns and shit. They had absolutely no plan at all what to do about the country once occupied.
the absolute state of this shitskin seething about /k/ making fun of russians slapping shitty armor on a fricking soviet era scooby doo van and in retaliation, spams pics of americans doing it on actual functional vehicles with better welding and selective armoring as if it's an own
Glock Glock Glock
Does nobody know the camo?
look what they did to the poor buchanka
before the war i was thinking of buying one
>Using armored light vehicles against an insurgency armed with small arms and IEDs is EXACTLY EQUIVALENT to using armored light vehicles against a conventionally armed force with ATGMs and tanks
I'm not laughing because some individual mobik decided to marginally improve their chances of survival, I'm laughing because they're doing it while they're still fighting a conventional conflict. American DIY hobby projects didn't start appearing until AFTER the air war and the regime change which reduced the enemy forces to guerrillas.
Guntrucks are fricking kino, post more.
fricking amazing.
/k/ BTFO forever.
apparently people made scale models of these hillbilly iraq trucks, just like a scale panther.
thats how ubiquitous they were.
I hate serbia
>/k/ BTFO forever.
I mean, no. Thanks for posting all those pics tho, I thought they were pretty neat.

Kek, now this is truly the /k/ope and seethe board that me and my homeboys love to dab and sneed on.
>myself and a bunch of nolifes love this place! We make idiotic posts and get lots of attention when people respond detailing our idiocy.
>clearly, we are winning
Haha, you dumb Black person, there is no winning here on PrepHole,no upboats, no internet clout no nothing.
All the time you spend here weather you are a turboincel or a failed normalgay is wasted .
Just have fun and dont take anything seriously while at the same time being serious about every shitpost. This is the real chan mentality that you newbieg shills dont get.
Seeing a bunch of slavs get vaporized is funny, it gets even funnier when sheeple on both the right and left pick sides and argue over the net like it fricking matters.
And the funiest thing is seeing unpaid shills like yourself falling for b8 again and again.
I am going to keep sneedin' and feedin'.
stop replying to bot threads you morons
I miss birchcore
This is exactly the same as this
in every way
>wood

>the same
you almost got it
you definitely didn't get it
no no no anon, dont you get it?
when the USA does it, it is good old fashioned american enginuity and elbow grease.
when the russians do it, it is poor dumbass orks huffing copium.
In the year 2022? Yes.
I love how it's a joke russia is doing a bubba wannabe Macgyver job on a typical van, mean while in America they shove like 30 people into a mini van to shuttle them around and are like
>okay nobody tell anybody about this
>there is a seat belt thing up my butthole
>that's my hand
>that's MY butthole he's in a different side of the van
>are we there yet i think im stuck?
>Implying that has anything to do with an uparmored Buhanka
>Implying they don't also do that in Russia
They have a lot in common with deez
who's steve jobs?

Buhanka erotic ToT
>ZOV
More like ZOG, am I rite?
I guess the Russians may have lost Soledar, or they've finally realised how far they've fallen because they're creaming themselves over a pile of rubble and a hole that contains almost as much salt as they produce on a daily basis.
My guess? The Russians are busy infighting so badly, they CAN'T praise Soledar for fear of promoting Wagner OR the Ministry Of Defense. Both factions have bad blood.
The Russians are fighting themselves while Ukrainians cohere.
I just came here to say that Russia is a backwards shithole that's at least half a century behind the civilized world aka America and the west.
2 decades old pictures of what America dealt with and Russia is just now encountering only prove my point.
Oi ya gits!
Wot's goin on 'ere? Yous 'ave a trukk, eh?
Looks like those ISIS suicide trucks.
Zoinks, Scooby!
I really hope it's not destroyed. For posterity. They can put the captured vehicle in Kyiv.
