Weird, i was expecting him to cover the current hottest happening which is the fall of bakhmut. Maybe touching on the tactical+strategic mistakes of ukrainian forces and lessons to be learned from them. I'm sure this is probably because he still doesn't have enough materials on the topic and not because he's extremely biased towards ukraine, hmm
Well we have a date for when either Ukraine retakes Bakhmut or Russia takes Chasiv Yar, it'll be two days after he releases another video analyzing the Bakhmut situation.
>How does one achieve enough autist knowledge to be able to put together an hour long power point?
for this you can just read csis for swf space report. its super basic stuff that has been covered over and over.
There are a number of companies working on possible solutions but they're all more or less in the start-up phase. For now the only option's to use robust materials when building satellites but that increases weight which in turn increases launch cost which ultimately decreases feasibility.
That's what makes kinetic ASAT so damn dangerous; there's no reliable and reasonably priced way of removing debris.
Orbits take time to stabilize. Crossing orbits is dangerous. The debris settling into their new orbit is dangerous. Debris striking other debris creates danger, etc.
>Is there a known or theoretical way we can clear debris in orbit >Send up ship >Rendezvous with debris >Deploy net >Capture debris in net >Either bring to surface or push into burn trajectory
Other than that no, but debris hasn't become a huge issue yet.
>not get shredded when it collides?
Move sat/station out of the way/ Whipple shields
threadly reminder that pajeets and ziggers don't have the attention span or the english skills to sit through an hour long video essay so they have to resort to name calling and questioning his credentials as they can't attack the actual contents of his videos

yes I do when I have about hour to do it and I have had time to watch other videos on my watch list, I usually eat dinner while watching a long video

I give it about 90% chance you're Perun

Haven't finished watching it yet, does he talk about the viability of moon lasers?
Lasers on earth have the problem of having to go through atmosphere, and lasers on satellites have to do something about all the heat they generate, but moon lasers fix both of those problems so you could probably mission kill as many satellites as you want without making any extra space debris.
He mentions the difficulty of Earth-based laser systems and that some groups are pursuing space-based laser options as well, but not on the moon specifically.
>Currently, Kim said, Millennium is in the “activation” phase of the Victus Nox mission
This is insane, I had no idea we were making something like this.
>you could not invest in this at all and be absolutely fine
I have a hard time believing that. If you're bumfuckistan fighting hillbillyland, sure it doesn't matter but anyone trying to compete on a global scale needs to consider it at least.
Reconnaissance satellites and GPS equivalents are important in modern warfare, denying the enemy its use would be valuable as is having your on system and protecting it.
For fuck's sake, if you're a country like NK then why wouldn't you just launch a couple dump trucks of gravel into orbit and induce kessler syndrome? You'd remove all the threats to yourself, show the world you're based and make everyone more interested in repairing the damage than dealing than you.
And? So what? What are they gonna do? What you gon do, bish? If I'm NK, I have a treaty with China that says you declare war on fucking China if you hit me. What will you do?
Why can't you just throw big magnets at other satellites, solves the space junk problem by having the new object attached to an already existing one. And the fact that its a magnet should ruin the satellite itself
>Why can't you just throw big magnets at other satellites
magnetic force falls off quickly in intensity, you're going to have to basically hit your target resulting in explosion
Every day we inch closer to the Rainforest Wars.

Get fucked Ivan
We dont really need a thread for every video. There is a subscriber button for that.
we used to have daily bong updates here, one thread for a defense economics video per week isn't overwhelming
It's something to talk about. And sometimes we want to laugh at the warped PrepHole points of view and trolls instead of the YouTube retardation.

How do you expect him to produce an hour long video on that topic in 2 days?
The videos start being made weeks before they are posted. Expect a video on Bakhmut a week or two from now.
Well we have a date for when either Ukraine retakes Bakhmut or Russia takes Chasiv Yar, it'll be two days after he releases another video analyzing the Bakhmut situation.
How does one achieve enough autist knowledge to be able to put together an hour long power point?
Im too lazy to read past an article and then we have people such as Perun
He said has a degree in economics and worked for military procurement. I think that gives a good enough explanation.
>How does one achieve enough autist knowledge to be able to put together an hour long power point?

Good research is a learned skill, once you know how all you need is practice (and motivation)
Finally! We space warring now!
Is the LOGH mod worth getting Stellaris for?
Not unless you are gonna like Stellaris.
All that mod does is change the ship skins.

space debris is not the threat that people think it is. if you are in the same orbit as space debris, then you are going the same speed as it.
Yes, but for every orbit there are infinite intersecting orbits.
Orbits take time to stabilize. Crossing orbits is dangerous. The debris settling into their new orbit is dangerous. Debris striking other debris creates danger, etc.
me when I'm playing TF2 as heavy and some moron soldier's rocket juggling me
That Demoman is a-Nega-*WHEEEEEEEEEZE*
Even slight differences in orbits, which will happen on impact, means that objects can collide at hundreds of km/h speed difference.
I’d rather not find out what happens when even a tiny bit of metal hits my spacesuit with 300km/h
It depends on the type of debris.
>Is there a known or theoretical way we can clear debris in orbit

Move sat/station out of the way/ Whipple shields
ground based lasers. heat the front end, vaporizing material decelerates the chunk and it loses its orbit. not particularly speedy.
space garbage trucks
Good anime though
lasers
way way way way way way out of his depth
lmao
its like a chatgpt essay if it played terra invicta
unironically, what is wrong with you losers and retards to constantly post this shit here?

This is a podcast to do other shit while listening to.
I did my taxes while listening to one of his videos
Dont know whats the problem with the other retard
>Do you think people actually just sit down and watch these all the way through?
yes I do when I have about hour to do it and I have had time to watch other videos on my watch list, I usually eat dinner while watching a long video
I smoke weed while I listen to them
its very relaxing
tiktok zoomer attention span
All these fanboys swooning over Perun when he is in fact David Stahel
*yaawn*
If you can't distill his talking points into a few sentences and it's interesting, no one is watching.

You are unironically schizoid
every single fucking time he posts a video its bumped the same way, saying he has no credentials
I think hes doing it himself
It could just be an angry autist like that guy who posts his artefact copypasta in any valve thread on /v/
nah I don't think so, they make noises of disapproval but they're literally repeatedly preventing the thread of falling off the board
Ah right that is a bit suHispanicious, even if I still kind of doubt it's perun doing it himself
or that barney guy that spergs out whenever someone posts a pony
Who is the fat advertising this mediocre non-expert Yt channel?

Man, America really loved nukes back in the day huh?

yawn im so tired of these videos. i want space warfare wargames, updates, and analysis. give me theory and applications.
A couple of neat programs there were canned:
Pretty shit episode tbh
It's all just sci fi stuff with very niche use cases, you could not invest in this at all and be absolutely fine

You'd remove all the threats to yourself, show the world you're based and make everyone more interested in repairing the damage than dealing than you.
Well you'd instantly make enemies of every country with space ambitions and those who benefit from space based applications.
And? So what? What are they gonna do? What you gon do, bish? If I'm NK, I have a treaty with China that says you declare war on fucking China if you hit me. What will you do?
Support China in their special operation to topple the regime that also destroyed their satellites.
China has space ambitions.
Gravel is heavy.
Why can't you just throw big magnets at other satellites, solves the space junk problem by having the new object attached to an already existing one. And the fact that its a magnet should ruin the satellite itself
better yet, just release a massive amount of magnetic gravel. itll all clump up and fall out of orbit eventually
>Why can't you just throw big magnets at other satellites
magnetic force falls off quickly in intensity, you're going to have to basically hit your target resulting in explosion
