Why are they wearing fricking sneakers?

If its not cold/muddy outside, sneakers are much better choice than russian military boots, according to many accounts from russians who fought/fight there or in guides for those going into fight.

I would just like to remind everyone that in the years leading up to the war when NATO/RUS officers were still on peaking terms, Gerasimov was in earnest and casually telling British generals that Russia had reached technological parity with NATO forces.

          Its not north korea(yet).
You can't buy them officially in official stores ofc, but you can easily ship them from across the border, there are people on online marketplaces who will do that for you making buying "sanctioned" consumer goods as easy as regular online shopping. For shoes/clothes - for double or triple the price yes, and with a risk of it being a "replica"(despite claiming "its 100% true and original bro"), but nobody is gonna freak out and annoy/reprimand/attack you for wearing something like that.
General attitude towards sanctioned goods is "xaxaxa stupid weak west, they sanction us but we still can buy anything we want no problem".

It isn't that bad of a idea for trench warfare and honestly for a $100 i would buy one. It is a powered wheelbarrow, that is a handy thing to have.

Single wheel with extremely high ground pressure = It's going to get stuck
Trenches are usually dug by hand, aren't flat and don't have access ramps. Anything that could be carried by your shitty wheelbarrow could be carried easier in a backpack or with two men and a stretcher.

But this does use less material than a wheelbarrow.
Terrible ground clearance though. Wheelbarrows let you sink in a little more before they get swamped.

I see Russians in Moscow have stealth hate towards new war veterans. I've seen such veteran beggars in Moscow subway and they get nothing. Never there was such. Before legless cripple rolls through subway wagon on wheelchair he gets alms from 3-4 people at least. Today? He would be lucky to get one, othen they leave wagon without any, never such was before.
New Russian laws prohibits openly offending this war participants and veterans but they can't prohibit been quietly hateful. If these laws didn't exist I am pretty sure people would be beating these veterans and throwing them out form public transit

Think about Russians as dog pack locked behind cage and abused by evil master, he beats them with a stick, showers with cold water etc. Dogs are angry but can't bite him, he is behind cage. Dogs vent their anger on each other, on the weak. "Dogs" that have mark of the master who got inside cage are obvious target for that anger venting.

There was actually a Ming era general who fought against the Jurchens and used small platoons of spearmen and archers based around a built up cart. The spearmen would push it towards the enemy and take up position around it while the archers shot at the enemy. They could keep off any skirmishers but if the enemy charged there was enough room in the cart for everyone, so they could pile in and fight the nomads off for a while, which was helpful since he could put a line of these carts ahead of his cavalry to make space for his artillery and cavalry behind. The Jurchen could either stand back and get smacked by the cannons or they could charge, having to run the gauntlet of arrows only to reach wagons which were small little forts being defended by people who had no where to run, and if they tried to pass through them to reach the Ming cavalry their formations would get broken up leaving them very vulnerable to a counter attack.

So similar to the Czech wagonfort tactics?

          Anonymous

In a more limited way, the reason that the Crusaders seethed so much about Hussite Wagenburgscwas because they refined the concept until it was useful both on the battlefield and on campaign which made them really hard to deal with. A German prince that had a Hussite force pop over a river into Bavaria for some raiding would probably send a force to take the fords to try and trap them, except the first things the Hussites would do in this situation would be to set up their wagenburg to guard the ford they wanted to use, which would be too strong for most armies in Europe to storm without field artillery which few kings had. Meanwhile Li Rusong was serving an empire in decline suffering a corruption crisis that makes modern Russia look quaint, and had to operate with an infantry force essentially made up of mercenaries whose performance could vary wildly. In one action they’d clamber over the bodies of their dead comrades to climb up the wall of an enemy fortress with just a rope ladder to get at the enemy, and in the next they’d throw down their weapons and run at the first volley of arrows, so the battle carts were a way to try and get them to stand and get shot at with arrows and were purely a tactical innovation to fight nomads. When Rusong lead the Ming expedition to fight the Japanese in the Imjin War the carts were left behind

I mean, it's somewhat correct, extreme, near anarch-capitalistic liberalism was a major cause for all embedding poverty.
They just omitted that russians did that to themselves. There was no western origin whatsoever in the lawless shitstain on the map that russia turned itself into, that was completely self made. They could've introduced legal blocks and regulations BEFORE throwing all the country riches to the oligarchs feet, they could've done lustrations AT LEAST in regards of outright murderers and genociders in soviet nomenclatura, they could've tried to not snuff out all the power out of parliament and turning themselves into superpresidential government, or they could've just make economic transition gradual instead. There's just so much bullshit in russian politics and socio-economics that russians fricked up themselves and still have the gut to blame liberalism as whole for it.
It's ludicrous, like if someone heard that guns exist and they are cool, made a shabby pipegun in his garage, shoot himself in the head with it and then blamed it on all other gun owners.

Wheelbarrow necessitates a small wheel under the bucket. Also the bucket itself is already very heavy and bulky.
With this setup you get a very compact "vehicle" that has a large wheel and is very weight efficient. Center of gravity is also lower which makes traversing terrain easier.

Google translate feedback from 9 June:
Reviews on the cart (more than a month of operation directly on the LBS) are extremely positive, I will take more on my next visit.
Some modifications were made on site, photos later, because the cart was “registered” at zero.
As for the debate about Filatovskaya or on a unicycle, there is no debate! Both are needed, it is clear that it is more convenient on a two-wheeler and you can load more, but in conditions where there is a mass of unexploded cassettes underfoot (minus the leg under the knee), the ability to use narrow paths in plantings is important.
Well, what worried me was confirmed (positively) - the possibility of evacuating 300 on it (unicycle with a motor) - it was successfully done more than once.
    In general I recommend

I get that it doesn't look impressive, but it's just a motorised wheelbarrow. For moving things around on a small scale. What's the joke?

There is nothing wrong with the traditional chinese wheelbarrow design. It has many advantages for use in austere environments and in war.

This thread is filled with ignorant people bashing shit for no reason. Educated yourselves:

Designing one with a wheel hub electric motor and putting the batteries across the top middle directly over the wheel is a clever solution.

Using an off the shelf chink ebike kit is extremely useful tho.
All they have to fab in Russia itself is the steel tube welded frame and the ebike kit is like $400 which includes everything you need.

nta, but at this point the "made in china" is almost beneficial rather than detrimental since russians themselves prefere chinesium over their own shit.
just look at how china took over their car market after the sanctions hit, because what are they going to do, buy russian cars?

as Russian i pick chinesium over Russian any time of the week
            Russian is either
1 chinesium relabeled with 200% price mark
2 indigenous Russian thing with 1000% price mark and non existent quality standards. Like your are buying thing with 6mm +0-0.11mm tolerance, you are geingt 5.8mm thing...

Your are better buying 3 different things from chinesium, its cheaper and you get better chance you are getting yours 6mm. Russians are drunk animals doing things from soviet manual lathes, Chinese are scammers selling things out of CNC machines. If you dealing with people sitting on 0.01mm CNC machine they are selling you 6mm +0.00-0.01mm things... Russians they are selling you suka blyat vodka thing every day

Anon, the trouble isn't the idea, the trouble is that there is no way to restrain a patient to the uni-barrow, there is no to support an incapacitated patient, there is no counter-balance to stop it toppling over and the wheel's no good for rough, off-road country.

          >Anon, the trouble isn't the idea, the trouble is that there is no way to restrain a patient to the uni-barrow
Human transport is obviously a reach and only possible if the guy is capable of holding on for dear life, I think it's just marketing and saying something like "you could do this in theory"
          >there is no counter-balance to stop it toppling over
??? the load is centered on top of the wheel and the handles give the operator good control authority
          >the wheel's no good for rough, off-road country.
It's a generic chinese fatbike tire. It's excellent for off-road, you've no idea what you're saying.

Besides these probably being better quality and more useful, I wonder what the cost would be if you took out the profits along the way? I’d imagine they’re under $500 if you nationalized electric wheelbarrow making in a total war scenario like Russia is in. Those are words I’d never thought I’d type.

i don't see any electric components on it
idk how well it copes with the weight of a wounded soldier but it probably does fine for making long marches suck less. it'd be a b***h when going uphill or downhill but ukraine is largely flat

to be fair, after the CP was made for the first time, saving / copying the data doesn't directly harm anyone. also i imagine it'd be easy for corrupt russian cops to "discover" CP on your phone if you didn't pay them a bribe

The battery is likely under the top surface. Similar to rack mount batteries of ebikes.
