new horrible shit from ukraine just dropped
introducing the new universal electronic detonator "Dzhonik" (little John)

i think the name is pretty self explanatory, a little device with a gyro, accelerometer, magnetic sensor and a photodiode that turns any bomb/IED into a mine.

thing is often air-droped from drones or used in booby traps
the activation range implies that it could also be buried underground

there is no easy way of countering the Dzhonik, the best method for now is to shoot at it from a safe distance
considering it's basically a chinky PCB board in probably costs pennies to manufacture

What kind of battery is it on? All batteries discharge over time, rapidly if they have to monitor a bunch of sensors with a micro chip. Would be a mine that defuses itself in months at most. Could have its uses but not exactly a game changer

looks like a simple coin battery. I doubt it needs much juice so it's safe to say that it would be active for quite some time if it didn't have an auto destruct time delay

if you have the slightest idea of what you're doing it's possible to make this run from CR123A for years even in high temperature environments, any shorter time limit is an arbitrary choice

Reading the sensors might take a bit of energy. Especially if they weren't made for low power use.
Though you can make many microcontrollers idle at such low power that the battery will drain more from self-discharge and age than what the chip is pulling from it.
Guess that doesn't matter if it only needs to work for weeks.

if you get one to an EMI lab (where they test every piece of military equipment for it's radio properties and resistance to interference) you can figure out a resonant frequency you can use to trick that magnetometer

hell they probably used some mass produced one so you can do that without getting the specific board

            im just doubting the usefulness
the point about mines is that they are hard to detect
if you have an arty shell sitting there with one of these attached. you think a tank is just going to drive over it? apart from the logistics of getting your "any explosive" to the correct location. why not just use a mine instead, which are purpose-built for this task
its such a simplistic device if it had any use it would be widely deployed already in any military around the world

                Anonymous

unclear, according to Ukraine extensive in areas like Luhansk and Mariupol, according to Russia, non-existent. Crimea is where we have the most evidence of their activity, where they appear to be spotting targets for Ukrainian munitions, but several depot explosions claimed to be HIMARS have also said to be sabotage instead. it seems like what it has mostly turned into following the pogroms and child 'relocation' in response to some of the more overt actions that it has become a lot of rear-line intelligence work, where they may use smaller suicide drones, but mostly use drones to scout positions for actual AFU to attack. thought i had the WEBM of it but there's a video of a reportedly Ukrainian insurgent group following an AD truck driving around in Crimea, but apparently i didn't save it.

That is a gigantic IED. And everybody in the MRAP probably survived.

iirc one dude had a spinal injury because no seatbelt, other was a concussion and broken arm, but this is from like 2008-2010ish so information's spotty.

sorry but according to all available reports and media it actually IS non-existent. and not only in donbass and crimea, also in the other occupied territories

last major actions i can find any link to guerilla activities in Ukraine is carbombs, and back in April some info was provided for an S-400. as i said, they seem to have either been quelled or transitioned to an informational stage. i hesitate to call any insurgency ever 'finished', ISIS, Al-Queda, the IRA, the Taliban, have all proven plenty resilient despite the powers they struggle against crowing about how the lack of attacks proves that they are fully defeated. there were quiet months, even years in Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. even Myanmar, with it's relatively spotty reporting has had quiet moments, and it doesn't seem to me that the slowdown of activity is indicative of anything, given that the war as a whole is currently rather static, even with the Kharkiv offensive having so recently occured.

                >even if I found his butthole through the blubber
Reminds me of an ancient /b/ capture that was itself from another chan.
Some guy got busted dealing and stealing and did some time, when he got out, he did an AMA on it in that chan's version of /b/ and it got reposted back here.

He was asked if anyone tried to rape him and he said that it happened once with some tough guy he couldn't fight but he'd gotten fat from the bad food, being locked in a lot because of shit going on and the weight room being monopolised by gangs, so the guy trying to rape him had a small dick and just couldn't get through to his anus so he dry humped his butt cheeks for a bit before giving up and leaving.

I've done quite a bit of anal with a bunch of girls and a few guys and it's not as easy as porn suggests.
Dry anal hurts both people, wieners don't like it either.
If someone isn't into it, it's usually so hard to get in that it's not worth it at all. I've had girls who wanted to do it but couldn't relax and would have needed days of coaxing into it if it was ever going to be possible.
It certainly made sense to me.

They blew up a collaborator just the other day with a carbomb anon.
I think it's more likely that Russia is working extremely hard to clamp down on news of insurgency leaking out, perceiving it as the bigger threat.

                Anonymous

i mean by it's very nature it'll be hard to determine what an insurgency is doing. hell i think there was a knife attack on some Russians a bit ago in Crimea that was apparently linked to it. i think the last thing Russians want to get out is 'oh by the way not only is this a conventional war but there's an insurgency right behind you too'.

                >drop them with drones
yes anon, you need mine that can be deployed from drones, one that won't explode upon getting dropped or falling on the wrong side or not detonating because it relies on pressure and it bounced right outside of road and none will step on it for next 2 years.
So what do you do? You make standardized trigger that you can put in drone dropped AP mine, AT mine or against thin skinned vehicles. Like this thing
                > or use artillery launched mines
which is why I said cheap, those are neat but too expensive to mine Russian roads every single day
