New gun law in TX?

Just tried to buy a gun at Academy in Texas. Pic related. They said there is a new gun law that anyone under 21 has to wait 10 days to buy a gun. I looked it up and can’t find any info on this “law”. Am I on some federal watchlist now? Or just Schizo?

    >Or just Schizo?

Most likely answer. Also many places and large chains have policies that arent law so its entirely likely that its company policy for a wait and the untrained and underpaid worker said the wrong word and called it a law. Or they did it on purpose because they are tried of being b***hed at by a bunch of fricking autists about how a policy is somehow raping their rights or some insane drivel.

No, that's not a law in Texas. It might be some bullshit store policy but it's certainly not the law.

Sometimes lies are told on service of others. I've seen some pretty cool and functional looking modernized lever action rifles, but this one is pretty fugly.

lmao this, he wants OP to think it over and when he comes back he'll tell him they're sold out and get him a Henry Golden Boy instead

      OP

Build an AR or an AK.

      It's cheaper and it's legal.

Or at least a decent pump action.

If you want boomer hunting rifle get a solid bolt action or semi auto, not whatever this is. Something you can attach optics to. Higher caliber if you want to do long range shooting.

Ak building is no longer cheap. If op wants to get a gun he should just buy one through a private purchase honestly.

I have one in 22 and it's not a bad lever gun. Sights aren't bad either.

    > Those weakass plastic rears you see on pellet guns
You can do better, OP. While there is no such law in Texas, take this time to look around at other lever actions with polymer furniture and see how much better you could do.

No, there is no local override of Texas gun laws.
There is no Texas gun law saying you have to be 21 or older for guns.

Its a new federal law that was passed last year, the Bipartisan Safe Communities Act, anyone aged 18-20 that tries to buy a gun has to go through an enhanced background check that has to wait an additional 10 business days before they can take possession of it.

      >Federal law requires that all those who purchase guns from licensed dealers undergo a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS. The BSCA requires, for any potential purchaser under 21, that NICS “immediately contact” state and local authorities to determine whether the individual has juvenile criminal or mental health records that would disqualify that person from purchasing a gun. If the initial inquiry finds anything questionable, the FBI will have 7 business days (in addition to the 3 days provided for the initial background check) to further investigate whether the state or local records are disqualifying. After 10 days, the transfer is permitted if there is no final decision from NICS.
Looks like its only 10 days if anything is found for the FBI to look into.

Academy is just a gay place to buy guns at. The idiots behind the counter probably heard about a law that passed in some homosexual state and figured it was federal.
The same homosexuals spent like ten minutes trying to talk me out of buying a hi point because they couldn't understand the concept of disposable income and having fun at the range.
Support local business and go to your nearest gun store instead.
