theoretically this one isn't terrible. This is for FPV drones, since most impact FPVs work via crushing two probes to form a circuit.

I suppose the goal of this one is to get tangled in the circuit or rotors, either setting it off too early or throwing it off-course.

While wire-loop-detonators aren't the most reliable thing those drones fly so slow that you can tweak the wire loop to avoid any countering like that.

From what I understand of HEAT rounds, a little extra spacing doesn't do anything to the molten jet's ability to penetrate armor. Sometimes it makes the jet stronger.

Thats actually pretty smart, it can damage fpv's propellers.

I think it's meant to trigger the circuit and explode before contacting armor.

It is, it can completely frick up tragectory of the blast.

I doubt it, its for damaging fans.

      >be march 2024. set up cope-sticks to stop drone. it damages their propeller. it falls down and the detonator circuit makes contact on the hood of my tank. mfw

admittedly pretty smart since it'll definitely activate the little wire circuit a lot of FPV drones have
but also very dumb because now the turret is completely useless unless you want to make your mad max spiky bit defenses useless

wait i just realized, those things are going to fly off the moment the main gun starts firing, so you have to re-apply the countermeasure after each mission

i take it all back, is a shitty idea, might be even worse than cope cages

The turret is already useless, when's the last time you saw one of those old rust buckets hit within the same oblast as their target?
That and in the more recent drone videos I've noticed they don't even seem to shoot anymore, I wonder if they've been having a hard time getting ammo for the guns in the first place or if they're trying to make the inevitable explosion from it getting fricked as small as possible.

          Feels good man.
Have any footage of a rust bucket shooting it's main gun from the last month? Because I haven't seen any, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Even if it did the extra stand off distance doesn't mean shit for a PG-7 warhead against a tin can like that.

this one could possibly work against FPV drones, but it makes tank riding pretty much impossible

so, get inside the tank vatnik, and get turned into canned meat when the vehicle hits a mine or get shot by an ATGM

Ukies have been carefully diving into the rear of just about every zigger vehicle, and these thing will get blown off the front.
It's a dumb idea because Ukies will just stick to dropping shit from above
        like RKG-3's instead.

it would probably make it harder to just fly the drone inside an open hatch like we've seen a number of times.

Also makes it harder to escape quickly, and you can't really carry troops on top anymore. Not like that ever was a great method of transport, but they do seem to rely on it frequently.

It won't do anything. The antenna will just bend, and even if it does damage the drone then momentum continues to carry it into the vehicle.
All this does is making abandoning the vehicle more difficult.

I think the idea is that the drone's RPG warhead gets misaligned slightly when the drone hits a wire and (hopefully) fires the copper cone of death at a less vulnerable spot or, ideally, misses completely.
I don't think this is going to work in practice since there's not a big enough delay between drone hits world's biggest dog brush and warhead detonates to even have the drone be deflected at all, it's as fast as a very short electrical circuit being completed.

Yeah but it's not really a cage. More like a... Copeupine or something.
I'm struggling to come up with pointy animals that fit with "cope".
