          Translator software fuckup.
In Russian, Hebrew name Abraham is written as Abram.
When translating from Russian to English, software assumes "Abrams" stands for multiple people named Abraham, and corrects it to English version of the name.

          Don't go full Evangelion anons.
Its the autocorrect from ESLs like me. You need to write "Abrams" a few times before your local keyboard "learn" the new word. If not, it changes it to "Abrahams". The average Russian or pajeet don't usually write "Abrams" because their moon runes so it's a good way to spot them.

Tanks just don't really fight tanks much in American wars anymore.
In the Middle-East, tanks usually got beaten before armor even got close by air support, and any engagements the Abrams got in would usually be against shit like the T-72, which stopped being produced before the Abrams even started.

Who knows, maybe there will be modern Abrams tank engagements, but Russia has already lost so many T-90s that I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't just fighting T-72s again.

They purposefully don't send many T-90s to Ukraine so that they won't have an abysmal battlefield reputation. They sell T-90s to other countries, and them losing tons of them would hurt sales, plus they wouldn't preform any better against modern threats than the newest and most modern T-72s anyway.

They're there for the Russian counter-attack. Because Putin, in his infinite wisdom, has demanded that his banan is captured by the end of the year. Adviika is a key part of this. So expect Russia to go hell for leather trying to take it so they can proclaim a win.

There was some Finnish autist who did a run down on the situation which tl;dr as 'the West needs to grow some balls, state what the goal of this war is for Ukraine and provide the means to achieve it, because Russia has millions of people they'll happily conscript and send to die, regardless of the terrible situation their armed forces are in and Putin needs a PR win for his rigged elections'.

Basically the shit is rigged, right? But you've got to pretend it isn't rigged. So you need a way to make it seem reasonable to idiots that
          >Oh well they voted for him because of X
The fact X is meaningless is irrelevant, it gives enough 'legitimacy' that it works. In this case, he wants the Adviika situation so he can go
          >See, we're winning this war
          And then everybody can go
          >Oh good, we don't need to worry about it, we're winning, so we won't need to vote for a guy who will look for a peaceful solution that would embarrass us!
There. That's basically it. It's rigged and he will never lose. But he needs to get across that Russia is winning and the best way to do that is to proclaim the capture of some irrelevant town.

for a lot of the world it got memory holed pretty quick but when Putin returned to power and replaced Medvedev there were pretty substantial protests in Moscow and you had prominent Western politicians like Hillary calling on Putin to step down or be removed as his return was a pretty clear end run around the intent of the Russian constitution

Putin unironically never got over this and in his mind it is intimately tied to the removal of other autocratic figures like Gaddafi and Saddam, he genuinely seems to believe that political agency in a population is impossible and the protests had to be driven by Western intelligence services. people forget the Russian Federation wasn't always the overt autocratic mafia state it has become, it was a struggling democracy to begin with but has been degrading for years at this point. Putin came to power by false flagging domestic terrorism against his own population and has reached the point where they are continuously actively rewriting the constitution to allow him to remain in power. its genuinely baffling to the Western mind how much the population genuinely trusts him to lead though, the first thing the man did as reprisal for the Magnitsky act was to block the adoption of Russian orphans by Westerners - he used his own country's most desperate children as leverage to try to enable his underlings to continue their predation and graft and luxurious lifestyles outside of Russia.

Sometimes in a moment of weakness I feel sorry for these people.
I get that living in Russia of the 90s and early 00s was a nightmare unless you were a mafia boss (with a knack for survival) or novye russkie, but there's just something incredibly depressing about the pathetically servile, simpering way they latched onto the first person who told them they're great and it's everyone else's fault life in Russia sucks and kicked their even shittier neighbor in the ribs and convinced everyone he was dabbing on the evil west by doing so.
For all of Solzhenitsyn's faults he was right about one thing: never put a politician on a pedestal. He's not your hero or your savior and he sure as fuck isn't your friend.

What’s important to note is that as crafty as Putin was in his rise to power, the leftover crumbling security apparatus of the old guard kind of crafted a Putin into being. He was deft at taking town any rivals but Putin himself is almost a post 90’s/ post Soviet state project. People were yearning at the time for the old sense of power they once had and he was happy to oblige to that calling. So to what you’re saying they were hungry for a Putin, just goes to show a strongman doesn’t appear out of thin air.

Do you know what this is?
That is a railway bridge about 20 km south of Tokmak. And the only way over the Molocchna river to supply said city, should it be "semi-circled".
One missile into this bridge and the city is on it's own.

Russian military is heavily reliant on railways to do it's supply runs. That's why they have difficulties conducting operations anywhere further than ~80 km (50 miles) from their railway lines. If that bridge goes and Tokmak gets "semi-circled", they would have to get the railway cars to the west banks of that river, unload their supplies there, transport the goods little by little over the river using pontooning (and we know how that can go), then load the supplies to cars on the other side and then transport them to the city. And they are not using Pallets to do any of that. Pidor has to carry each crate by hands. Yeah, good luck.

Oh, and they might not even need missiles. Although the bridge is definently wihtin HIMARS range, it might already be within Ukie conventional artillery range. It's only ~45 km from Novoprokopivka.

the Ukrainians aren't blowing the bridge for a reason, it would slow them down massively if they try to counter attack and its really hard to blow a bridge entirely. Russians got really good at patching rail sections as well so it's probably a matter of just conserving ammunition and hitting either side of the bridge.

"Patching rail sections" is in no way equivalent to "rebuilding a rail bridge." Are you Tardlord the Copewarrior? Because your statement is every bit THAT delusional. nobody is going to re-build a railroad bridge while under artillery and HIMARS fire. Every locomotive engine that gets sent into range will experience tungsten rain and become instant scrap metal.

In fact, I hope the vatnaggers are THAT retarded ... send half a dozen or a dozen locomotives straight into artillery barrages & HIMARS kill zones. I would love to see a new category on the vatnagger loss charts, right next to "Submarines killed by a nation without a Navy," with "Choo-choo trains converted to shredded steel."

keeping the tokmak rail junction inoperable is what's important and that can be done from where the ukies are now
The whole reason that Russia kept launching those suicide rushes at robotnye and then switched to launching them at avdiivka instead is because they absolutely have to force the ukies out of at least one of those positions or risk losing everything between Tokmak and Donetsk city

Keep grinding down russians, even at your own expense, if the alternative to a pyrrhic victory is sucking vatnig dick then by all means, everyone in Ukraine has it clear, western support or not.

You see, in truth, this was never about what the world thinks, what you or I think, why yes, we come here to throw shit to each other and pretend our little opinions and virtue signalling means something, damn so satisfying.

This is instead about what the ones directly involved in the war think, something which apparently hasn't crossed russians minds, or maybe yes, who knows, what they were expecting? That you could justify throwing ballistic missiles at some apartment complex in Kyiv by arguing you were fighting Zelensky nazi regime? Heh, a father who just have seen the mangled body of his son removed from the ruins of his little world isn't going to listen to what some /chug/ chickenshits have to say, they aren't going to whine about israelites or trons or nogs or whatever, what he is going to do is go to the closest recruitment center and tell the guy in charge to give him an AKM and some magazines and send him to the front so he can hunt down some of the subhumans who ruined his life and God maybe he may die but he will fucking drag some of this vermin down with him with our without NATO surplus.

So yeah, but by all means, keep posting here, we like to go in all sort of fights.

When the USSR was leaving Afghanistan, the Sov diplomat pleaded with the Muj to stop attacking their troops. "We are leaving, why are you still attacking us?" The Muj commander replied," you are leaving because we are killing you, we will continue to kill you until you are gone."

They only lost like what a quarter of the people in Afghanistan?

The amount they are pushing their economy to like 20+% of GDP is insane. They hare cut off from a lot of products they need to keep their gas and oil futures intact. (They can work around the sanctions but it costs more and is far less to stale and time table friendly)

I doubt it's even 5%. Might be in some specific munitions, though. But overall, so far it's a fraction. There's still more committed and will be delivered. It's in the pipeline and can't be stopped for a while now. I'd hope we reach 50% of our 80's stock. That'd be great to put it all to use instead of decommissioning & maintaining it.

Not really at all close. If we look a the numbers it is around 0.32% of equipment made 1960-1995.

That is why the Ukies are kinda bitching as we have not even given a 1% effort.

American RHA, aka literally the best armor plate steel in the world, because we have the money and industry to do that shit properly, meticulously and at scale.

Thats how tanks are supposed to be, tough, durable and recoverable. Russian doctrince simply does not work that way though so they build their tanks to be disposable and treat the crew the same.

Because it's a meme.. Because in urban/semi-urban areas the doctrine dictates that tanks should work with the infantry. And at stand-off ranges, fighting other tanks, it's not needed.

ERA is very dangerous to infantry nearby. There is the TUSK kit with at least two generations of ERA but its special use. Adding ERA to tanks is either implicitly accepting you aren't fully commiting to combined arms or it means you dgaf about your infantry.
