Nope I'm very pro Ukraine (especially Azov) but Oryx numbers are going to be incorrect because Ukraine keeps opsec on losses and Russia doesn't take ground fast enough to photo losses. 155mm towed artillery is very vulnerable especially yo loitering munitions and the reaction of the US mil in this conflict about towed artillery makes me think they are taking heavy losses. Also when Milley estimated Ukraine had taken around 100k military casualties I knew materiel losses had to be similar to Russia's

The difference is Russian losses can't be hidden because they lost a fuxkton of ground. Ukraine is losing armor in grinding defense which means they only get photographed when Russia gets close to it. In other words use some fricking common sense.

if they are losing those to loitering munitions, then there should be footage, they like to spam any footage of their lancets hitting anything, specially western equipment, so it's safe to assume that they are releasing most, if not all footage from those kind of hits.

consumption is proportional to provision, aka "the more you have, the more you're willing to use"
(which, coincidentally, is also why Russia hasn't tested or used a single nuke in ages)

No, the exact opposite: the more shells you have the faster you burn through them.

Point is: the answer to how many shells Ukraine needs is: "more"

            Anonymous

Its 115,000 artillery shells they have been sending them consistently every month, theyve sent well over 1 million shells and they arent the only ones.

            Yes.
1)German, US and UK officers have been saying that Ukraine needs more but moronic politicians keep obstructing it because they have no concept of wartime procurement. Same reason why UK, France, Germany and many other countries have inadequate stockpiles - pennypinching morons, populists and outrgitht Kremlin agents in government.
2)Ukraine receives a lot of ammunition that does not get announced - e.g. 152mm shells from Bulgaria, Czechia and some African and Asian countries, small arms ammo from the same sources, low-caliber shells and small arms from Serbia, etc.

Because of context clues. They aren't losing >100k soldiers without losing a lot of material, this artillery/loitering munition/ATGM/arrmor war means a lot of equipment is going to be destroyed and they are begging the west for equipment.

          >carriers are death traps
has this ever been proven? Even when they were litterally boxes filled with avgas and bombs the japs had a really fricking hard time sinking them, even when they just started doing the wave attack suicide thing.

How many missiles do you need to sink a carrier ready for the attack? How many missiles do you have? How many do you have that won't be instantly wiped out by SEAD/DEAD? You'll need to do it at least four times to meaningfully do anything, unlike the single attack on the Moskva that sank it almost immediately, which then scared the whole Russian fleet into port.

I know its a foreign concept, suppression/destruction of enemy air defense (and offense), but its actually pretty effective.

I don’t know and I wouldn’t tell if I knew, but if I had to guess as a finngay, I’d bet my money on it being mainly BMP-2’s. They’re getting old and would be nearing a replacement soon either way, so it’s not a big defese capability loss to give them away (rather, at this point you could say that it gives them one ”last chance” to kill vatBlack folk instead of just getting scrapped), and the 400 million would translate pretty directly to getting new IFVs to replace them.

Probably don’t have to keep guessing for long, as we will see the results either way on the battlefield sooner or later.
