nothing spectacular. internal public elections happen, it became obvious the current govt is gonna lose the actual elections next month.
so the min. of economy just went and devalued the Peso by 25%. that translates to a 25% increase of all prices within the week.
people flipping out left and right.

Why would they intentionally destabilize the country? To suspend the elections?

It was unintentional on the govt party's part. This this legitimately the most retarded government we'd had since the return of democracy.

It's suspected the original looting episodes (coordinated nationwide across multiple province) was organized by the "social organizations" (aka the welfare state mafia), as a form of pressure to the government over, you guessed it, more gibs.
But it went out of control fast and now there's spontaneous looting happening in a good chunk of Buenos Aires.

Tell them to get off the roof and bend over. They'll probably be killed more mercifully than if they get overrun after firing one shot and having their turknesium garbage catastrophically jam.

shhhhh the cabezas don't know that

They sometimes manage a couple of shots in a row before jamming. My dad bought picrel, a turkish semi-auto, on a whim a few years ago because he thought it looked cool. We have managed to fire a full five-round magazine without a jam *one time*, ever. Then youtubers got their hands on turkish shotguns and showed the world that they're all terrible.

Huh, didn't know Argentinians could own guns. Shame they didn't win the Falklands.

      >Huh, didn't know Argentinians could own guns.
not entirely convinced owning that many is legal. You need "proof of reason" to acquire here. ie being private security or working somewhere traditionally known for organized theft.

Mostly not convinced because licenses are per gun and each requires fees and 5-year renovation

No ownership for personal reasons like recreation or defense?

          Anonymous

I'm not an erudite in the matter, this is merely my understanding of it:

          >recreation
not for anything larger than a glock, unless you live in a hunting area and express desire to be a recreational hunter.
          >defense
"defense" only exists as an argument in relation to your job.
Firing a gun in self defense can only happen in very specific scenarios, mostly, home and jobplace invasion.

In any shooting outside that context counts as ND with potential for years in jail. As such, carry is forbidden in all contexts.

            >Firing a gun in self defense can only happen in very specific scenarios, mostly, home and jobplace invasion
Sure, but home/business defense absolutely counts as defense. Carry isn't the be-all-end-all. Thanks for the info anon

            >argentinian is walking home from the grocery store
            >a scooter pulls up with two guys and they brandish a knife, demanding everything he owns and his groceries
            >argentinian pulls out his illegal pistol and shoots a whole mag of .380 or .22lr or whatever the fuck they have there into the guy with the knife
            >other gay flees in terror

now, all of this so far is a typical robbery, nothing new and definitely something common in the whole world, including the united states
however, where things differ is the next step:
            >dying man gurgling blood on the floor
            >argentinan man, now his life is saved, makes the wise decision to keep walking home. Maybe even run home. Maybe take a new route or go into some alleys and call his family to pick him up
            >he'll call a fucking cab if he has to
            >the cops can find that body on their own fucking dime I ain't saying nothing

happens, if you are not caught on camera the police flat out ignore murder cases. they simply don't have the manpower or morale (read: budget) to do petty crime investigations.
if the media makes a scandal, they just arrest the first poor sap who came across the place looking too shady.

in fact you can directly determine how friendly with local crime a neighborhood's administration is by the presence or absence of cameras in the streets. protip: stay the fuck away from florencio varela.

Kek, you already know the answer to that anon. If they respected the right to self-defence as an acceptable reason, they would be authoritarian enough to demand a "good reason" in the first place

              incorrect.
The american constitution only applies to americans, but it applies to americans regardless of where they are in the universe.

no, reason is mostly your job. you are private security in say, a large compound that may get trespassers? then you may own a rifle.
most of our gun legislation was made in the context of solving rural problems I believe. The idea of needing a gun in a city is kinda alien, until very recently, even thugs didn't have anything more complex than a small revolver.

i'm serious, until a few years ago seeing a thug using a modern pistol was rare. i'm talking 8 out of 10 guns you saw in media, arrests, police report, succesful muggins, etc, were +30 years old revovlers.
last year a vid surfaced of one with a SMG / uzi derivative and it was a viral wtf moment.

people are blaming Rosario city becoming a coke corridor for Bolivia, thus inviting cartel-like gangs.

Its the Mexicans and Venezuelans making a move because of the US border becoming more risky for smuggling and to fill the vaccum left by the FARC units that disarmed.
