I sometimes have regular replies flagged. Sometimes it's because I include NSNs or something that looks like a phone number. Sometimes I have NO FUCKING CLUE what's getting it flagged and I include no numbers at all. Drives me up the wall.

Holy shit this. Particularly pisses me off since it seems to happen most on posts that I actually put effort into, have zero urls or numbers or anything, and it's like WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF CAPTCHA SHIT THEN if your garbage spam algorithm suddenly shits itself.

At this point though I just give up and screen shot the post and post that. Even if no one will read it fuck if I'll let the ai win.

Guys, captcha is using you to train AI. You really didn't figure that out? It's not to prove you're not a bot, it's to help train better bots. I had to wait a minute despite not posting yet today for my captcha because I typed this, no shit.

              Anonymous

This might be true for most captchas but PrepHole in particular's is designed to stop bots/make bots pay for PrepHole premium

Like honestly, what the fuck is PrepHole's captcha training for? Driving?

Uh, yes? That's exactly what it's for. You're feeding training data to bots for better visual identification.
The previous captcha used scanned words from books and the purpose was to train OCR bots to identify lower quality scans, weird fonts, and damaged prints.

they just did that did that already in maine with a national guard guy and an immediate follow on, nobody gave a shit, CNN broadcast people in the area thanking God they had firearms to protect themselves, and the new speaker of the house is shitting on anyone submitting anti gun legislation; the only anti gun legislation being submitted is pants on head retarded and wouldn't even fly with normies. The prosecutors in Rahimi tried arguing that because the antives were exterminated and the blacks enslaved that's it's fine to strip peoples rights to SCOTUS' faces, and they weren't having it. The bumpstock ban got granted cert and is going to be argued very soon as well, and that could come down anywhere from "bumpstocks aren't machineguns" (gay and lame) to "machinegun bans are unconstitutional, therefor bumpstocks are legal" (based)

Right, definitely glowie related, and everyone ignored it. My point is that nobody gives a shit about anomalous tragedies, and a good chunck of people see the glow anyway. It's not gonna stop the rulings from coming down in our favor, the only question is whether or not the system in states like california are unstable enough to reject the notional rule of law afterwards, which would be a much larger issue. At that point the courts truly don't matter so do what you want anyway, there's no such thing as security any more.

        > they'll trade that pony to get it
        Lol. No.
The NFA is never going away, if only because (even among pro-gun politicians) there is not that many that are willing to be the guy that made machine guns and high explosives legal. The realistically best case scenario is that SBRs, SBSs and suppressors are removed, and the Hughes amendment is overturned. And even that is highly unlikely.

          Anonymous

The Supreme Court doesn't care about being the ones that made machine guns illegal. They already overturned Roe v. Wade, which was an extremely unpopular decision.
If someone suffered damages from merely owning an unregistered NFA item and a writ of certiorari was granted, the entirety of the NFA would be examined, not the individual items listed in there. The NFA has a very good chance of being repealed within our lifetimes. The US v. Miller decision held water then, but it definitely doesn't today given that all branches of the military have automatic weapons, suppressors, SBS, and SBR as standard issue.
The Hughes Amendment is damn near impossible to overturn, even if the NFA were repealed. It's extremely difficult to prove that anyone suffered damages from not being able to manufacture a post-86 machine gun. The Hughes Amendment is written independently of the NFA in 18 USC 922.

Heller superceded Miller vs. US; Heller established the 2A as an individual/personal right and not based on participation in a militia, like Miller. As to your second point, "common use" is made plain in this decision.

Heller/Bruen established that the test to meet for a law to infringe on the 2A; it must be consistent with the historical legal record at the time of the founding. At the time of the founding, there were no such laws regarding types of weapons, private citizens owned functional warships with cannons with no governmental restrictions.

The ruling wad on the injunction not the merits. The southern district put an injunction on the law but 7th circuit put a stay on the injunction. The decision last week was only to overturn the injunction. I read the opinion. They certainly quote English law to validate their reason of striking down the injunction. Currently it’s with the district courts but beavis filled an appeal on the injunction to the 7th circuit to hear the case en banc this morning.

Both are bitter they never got there and use their position to thumb their nose at the higher court. I doubt they appreciate their rulings and frameworks being dismissed.

Wonder if the rest of the 7th is as corrupt as them. It looks to be about one third grabber, one third based and one third uncertain based on a quick sniff through Wikipedia

This is false. Even in Heller and subsequent 2A decisions, the justices explicitly state that their words are complementing Miller, not superseding it.

yeah, because they were trying not to upset the status quo and miller wasn't actually being challenged.

But we all know miller doesn't pass the common use test and the NFA doesn't pass constitutional muster. miller was fucking rigged and the government has been playing 4D chess for 90 years to avoid a serious challenge to it.

Having the law itself overturned in whole or essentially through overturning its components means every politician can keep his nose clean; they dont have to repeal it, it will just be ignored completely as unenforceable, worst case is ATF would continue to try and constantly get blasted out of court, which would eventually become such an egregious issue that prosecutors would not even press charges.

I’d be happy with SBRs and suppressors OTC and the machine gun registry open again.

Grabbers will not give up anything. They do not compromise as much as they bitch about pro-guns not compromising. It doesn't matter that ATF basically proved that SBR's can be sold by the millions without a tax stamp without any noticeable effect on crime. The grabbers are immune to evidence. The Republicans will not do it because they don't actually care. This will have to go through the courts kicking and screaming.

I know, anon. That's the baby steps. Eventually the NFA, except perhaps the machine gun registry, will have been rendered moot by a dozen court cases. Maybe it'll stay on the books and maybe it won't, but it'll become an unenforced footnote, like a New England blue law.

I taped an orthopedic heel pad to the back so that it does not hurt to shoot when my face is behind the gun (for irons). I plan to put a Trijicon 1-6x Accupoint on it, which I imagine should allow for fairly consistent man-sized hits at ~300yds. The optic would sit on a riser above the irons, making me able to instead get a cheek weld along the side of the gun rather than placing my face behind it.
The Mora Companion that I sealed into the grip fits VERY well (retains itself kind of without any tape even). It also allows me to place it in a spot near my rib cage, adding another point of contact to the weapon.
The key difference is that NONE of the points of contact extend past the grip really, whichs means you can drive the muzzle around to wherever you want with just a bit of hip, head, and arm movement. No adjustment of a stock to condense yourself.
Also, when you hold this weapon, your arms should be tucked in VERY tight. Both of your elbows should be in your body, and your off-hand should be gripping the magwell.

I guess this is the right thread to ask this retarded question; Do pistol AR lowers have different rated springs and buffers as opposed to rifle ones? I've never understood this, I know the ban issue is about the braces themselves and not the internals but wtf is the difference between the function of a pistol lower and a rifle lower? Anything? (assuming your caliber stays the same i.e. 556)

      Anonymous

Zero. Unless you go out of your way to buy a gimped or niche part they're exactly the same physical object.
But legally they're whatever they're first bought as. You can use a pistol one as a rifle part, but vice versa would be a felony.

Idk. If you're concerned about it just buy a plain lower and put pistol on the 4473 at the shop.

      Anonymous

Sometimes people throw a heavier buffer on a shorter barrel, but generally no, no difference.

You might be getting pistol cartridge carbines mixed up. If it's a straight blowback AR9, they typically use very heavy springs and PCC specific buffers.

        Anonymous

That's what I figured as far as PCC's go. Not really my area of interest though, I want a 7.5'' 300BLK upper so I guess it's a registered pistol lower for me.

      Anonymous

Assuming caliber stays the same, nothing. Obviously the lower would be different between a 9mm lower vs a 5.59 lower though.
As far as the springs go it depends on the action anon, on my straight blowback EPC-9 I haver a .308 buffer spring in there to help lower the wear on parts, but it's not a %100 rule.

the diameter of the gas hole in the barrel is a little smaller to reduce the amount of exhaust gas coming back due to the location of the hole being closer. As Anon said, sometimes a heavier buffer is needed if the hole is same size as carbine.

Why do Americans have so retarded gun laws? Wouldn't it be so much simpler and saner to issue a gun to someone proving their skills and need for a gun on demand instead of this jumbled mess where some guns are kosher and some haram? >need for a gun on demand
The govt has decided you don't need a gun, fuckface, the police will protect you. Short barreled rifles are particularly retarded because the NFA was written with the intent of banning handguns. The SBR laws were written to prevent people from cutting down a rifle to conceal it if they couldnt get a handgun. Handguns were removed, SBRs were left in along with suppressors, short barreled shotguns, and machine guns. Fast forward to today and the grabbers only know what they see in movies so suppressors are evil assassin devices and a rifle with a 14.5" barrel can easily fit in your pocket.

        Anonymous

I mean that's kinda my point? If you ban handguns as well you have a sensible law that bans all easily hidden guns while still allowing guns for home defense and hunting. Let's put aside whether those should then be licensed or not, it's obviously a clear upgrade to the current situation.

Conversly, you could easily unban carbines if you make gun owners pass the same checks you'd expect of anyone else operating deadly machinery.

It's not the gun that is the problem, it's untrained and unchecked, especially criminal people having access to easily concealable guns. Either you regulate the people, or you regulate the guns in a decisive way that removes the threat. The NFA does neither because right wingers cucked it to the point of pointlessness.

That means I can't carry in public which means I can't defend myself in public. Tyrone and Jon'da'risious are still going to carry guns regardless. You don't understand the US enough, you need more diversity.

            Anonymous

But the whole point is you're much safer if Tyrone and whatever the other nagger was called risk 20 years of prison each time they walk around with their illegal guns. Now the crims can go "didn't do nuffin, just using my "right".

Also it's pointless now if you ban guns in Chicago and they can just hop on a train go one hour to Texas and fill up a suitcase with tons of free guns.

And the strong selection pressure if the whole American market would comprehensively ban handguns would lead to much safer cities in some decades. Saving thousands of your lives.

You can still give the right wing wiggers some bolt action rifles as compromise so they don't spaz out too hard.

Don't bother. You'll just get the "That works in all the other first world countries but it won't work here." mental gymnastics. Your argument is sound but you're not going to get much agreement on this board and I can't really blame people for that.

Personally I would be in favor of proper licensing and shit like that IF I trusted the government to not abuse it in order to simply disarm everyone, which is what they would do and have essentially done already in my state. The laws just get more and more restrictive over time and not even in response to local problems. The latest push for new laws is in response to the shooting in Maine, which was carried out with firearms that are already banned here.

Yeah and 4473s are only required for dealer purchases + there is no real system to disarm schizos who previously purchased weapons before their diagnosis.

You have to consider two facts if you want to support the "do what the euros do" argument.
                Fact 1, fewer browns

I did read what was said. You need to re-read the post I replied to. It would take a while for the laws to have a significant impact but 10 or 20 years down the line there would be a lot fewer guns in circulation illegally.

It's me as an addendum to my last post again: problem is especially your fucking tribalism where the left thinks guns are Hitler and the right think guns are Jesus. So the left is on a holy crusade against guns and the right on a jihad to defend it. Just that the logical rational solution of common sense gun bans and licensing to individuals who prove they can be trusted with guns is more on the left side, so the right has to be dragged kicking and screaming there. But also the left will go beyond that because to them it's as well not about a socially optimal solution, but fuck gunowners no matter what.

Yeah. American politics are uber fucked and I honestly see no way to fix it. I'm afraid that the situation will how polarized things are and frequent paralysis of government due to congressional gridlock will only get worse, and could be our undoing in the end.
As I said, I would like to see some reforms but due to the situation I can't support the politicians who would pass those reforms because they'd just stab moderates like me in the back.

So what do you suggest then? Nothing short of door to door confiscation isn't going to uncirculate the 100 firearms per person in the country right now.
How are you going to know that the "crazy racist Vietnam PTSD lunatic next door" has an illegal firearm? How are you going to take it from him without a significant reduction in personnel after shit goes south?
You can tell gun stores to stop selling them, but even after several decades (which would be miraculous to keep in effect with the political shitstorm it would cause), but that doesn't just disappear 100 firearms per American citizen.

Regulate ammo along with the guns. If someone is hoarding illegal guns in his home and factually is limited in practicing, that's little threat. But the moment he shows his ass in public with a gun that isn't licensed, go straight to jail, don't collect $200 if you pass /k for irrelevant validation on the way.

You have to consider two facts if you want to support the "do what the euros do" argument.
                Fact 1, fewer browns
Fact 2, fewer guns already in private circulation.

France is as full of naggers and browns as the US, yet they're fine with gun crime. (once a year a muzzy chimping out doesn't change that in face of America's daily mass shootings even if Fox pushes that agenda)

And yeah fewer guns in circulation is the whole point of it. Saying America shouldn't ban guns because they're having too many guns is literally like saying a drug addict shouldn't try to get off the drugs, only sober people can live without drugs.

Surely you can't treat it exactly equal, but in both cases the goal is to get off guns/drugs. Maybe you can't in both cases go cold turkey, but you need a long term goal of life without toxic influence.

That's not even remotely true. Paris isn't all of France bro. Also the drug comparison is ridiculous, because a gun can be used for a myriad legal purposes from security, defense, and hunting, whereas drugs, whether illicit or not, are used to get you high. Basically comparable to a food analogy.

                >https://en.m.wikipedia .org/wiki/Black_people_in_France

                >Although it is illegal for the government of France to collect data on ethnicity and race in the census (a law with its origins in the 1789 revolution and reaffirmed in the constitution of 1958),[2] various population estimates exist. An article in The New York Times in 2008 stated that estimates vary between 3 million and 5 million

Let's say that's doubled in 10 years, which is unlikely but possible. 10 million blacks in France. Of a population of 75 million. I'd tell you to do the math yourself, but you're you're probably too retarded.

I am entirely in favor, personally, of a tiered licensing system in the US btw. You're just retarded, is all. Allowing anybody access to bolt, lever, and pump action long arms and 8-shot handguns or less is reasonable. If we're going to have mass shootings at least bring back wild west kino. If you demonstrate a) competence, b) negative criminal or acute inpatient psychiatric record, and c) pay a $200 fee to weed out the dirty brown poors, then you get access to any and all semi autos without restriction or demonstration of need, plus CC permit. Highest tier would be access to full autos, which requires mid-tier license for X years, repeat background check, and paying a 1k fee to further weed out the dumbest and most retarded of poors and nut jobs. And none of thisvwill work because the people in our country are stupid, broken, dirty, soulless, poor schizo's and they'll go on killing eachother but at least you can pretend we tried.

The reason the US appears to have an additional problem is because we have highly concentrated poverty in specific areas of the country.

if the law is still on the books, they can enforce it, but a prosecutor is going to look at the case law and decide if they can get a conviction or not. If ATF continues to make arrests for offenses that USSC say are unconstitutional, they will pay a price for it rapidly in congress, and the vast majority of prosecutors are not going to bring charges on someone if they do not feet they are going to win in court/get a plea deal out of someone.

In my state, it's only legal to carry pistols concealed, not rifles. It used the federal definition for pistols, so those AR shorties with pistol braces were fine up until that new rule. Even if there's an injunction, the federal definition of pistols has changed, so I can't legally conceal my shorties anymore because my state follows whatever the feds say. That's why shit still sucks even though there's an injunction.

What are the chances the ATF will decide that all the free stamps they gave out will be made null?

It would be funny if they went after the guys they gave free stamps to for tax fraud.

Can VZ61 chads finally put their wire folders on legally now or do we need to get an sbr stamp for it?

      Anonymous

No the wire folders are still stocks.

You'd have to put a buffer tube or rear pic rail and put a brace on that.

      >The bump stock rule was thrown out iirc, right?
      No, it passed via EO

It wasn't an EO you tard
It was an ATF agency rule

Ok, well that's just silly but oh well guess it's time to aquire a brace

Also with all the election fuckery coming upon us I want to buy at least one more gun and then focus the rest on ammo, especially on the 12 gauge, .22LR, 5.56/.223, 9mm, and .38 side of things

You can buy polymer 80 kits. But more importantly, there is no more arbitrary limit on how many private party sales you can do within a year before the ATF says you're "engaged in the gun business" and need an FFL. Or more specifically, before the ATF just levy federal charges because you sold 6 firearms and made $50 profit.

So if this gets thrown out, as it looks like it might...
And the ATF doesn't actually have the legal right to rescind or prevent the levying of taxes for anything, as I believe they don't...

...does that mean that everyone who filed for an amnesty form 1 for the ability to turn their pistol into an "SBR" is about to be retroactively charged $200 for each stamp?
