i held a similar variant of this and the front was made out of metal while the rest in the back was polymer just like in the pic, i felt it made it way too front-heavy to bereliable for prolonged periods of use
Flaws? > side folding stock -- not adjustable for length > grip / selector ergos -- not comfy > the magazine -- if they go with the HK mag, that's shit, need to convert the mag well to STANAG > optic -- the optic has a narrow field of view (tube diameter) > lack of pic rail -- you get what HK wants you to have, VFG? flip up front sight? red dot w/ flip-up 3x magnifier? frick off, you don't get it
Also, it melts.
Ergonomically speaking, its nothing short of perfection. Were it made out of aluminum and not just injection-molded, it would've been perfect.
>Source: Me, a G36 Enjoyer
>New stock still is side-foldable, is lop-adjustable AND has adjustable cheek-riser >entirely subjective >True, but not a necessity for the Bundeswehr >Optic has been swapped out a long time ago >There are flat-top pic rails, even with flip-up irons
But yeah, look at the G62. It basically fixes all problems of the plastic receiver.
Plastic receiver is a flaw
Those integrated sights are a flaw
The plastic trigger is a flaw
The price is a flaw
The reliability is a flaw
The manufacturer is a flaw
- Bulky because it's all polymer.
- VERY thick and snaggy mags (got somewhat better over time after getting rid of the locking nubs and the anti-overinsertion rim), early ones are pretty fragile too.
- The dual optic was a marvelous idea in theory, very futuristic for its time, but the execution was VERY lackluster (pic related is literally the main optical housing) and the optic became obsolete extremely fast.
- Fairly heavy trigger, no bolt release (on most guns), meh mounting interfaces, flat top makes carry handle useless and unlike the M16A4, this will actually affect your ability to reach the charging handle comfortably.
That being said I'm in love with it ever since Stalker and have one currently on the way.
Good things: >Against all rumors, very reliable (can endure mud, rain, dust...), >Easy to maintain, fast to assemble/dissasemble >Compatible with m16 mags/stanag magazines >Accurate (stock 1.5x optics are capable to shoot up to 800 meters) >Easy to get optics zeroed (using hex key) >Decent ergonomy, easy to carry when cramped inside vehicles/jumping as a paratrooper
Not so good things, depends on your taste: >Stock mags are practical for double stack and easy to see ammo, but are a pain in the ass to put in/out on your average mag pouches (still, you can use other kind of mags as long as these are compatible) >Foldable buttstock is handy and tough, but a conventional buttstock is going to be even tougher >out-of-the-box optics are neat and fast to use, but a conventional ironsight is going to be more reliable and faster to use
"No bueno" aspects: >Over the optic, there is a shitty ironsight, pistol-like. In a pinch it works on short distances, but sucks a lot above 50 meters >In very cold weather, the optic can get foggy >Compared with an AR15, modularity is awful, either you rely on piccantiny adaptors (which will displace the scope even more) or paying HK overpriced accesories
As a "stock assault rifle" the G36 is fricking good, at least the Export version I used. >t. served in infantry
My fiancé used one in Afghanistan in the bundeswehr, she hated it. It was too susceptible to jam from fine dust getting in the ejection port. When she saw my AR she instantly loved the dust cover. She also hated hated the materials, saying >"too much plastic"
and sounds like a boomber when she talks about the G3 >that was a good weapon! >good bullet, you know you are shooting a real weapon when you shoot one
When did they start coming with the rail on top of the default optic? I keep looking and there is no name for this modification, no export version specifically for it or anything.
Clear mags let the enemy know when you're out of ammo
Paint it to be always full/empty to confuse them
My gun is melting!
>default red dot a shit
>lack of rails
>charging handle placement position means worse scope mounting options
Export versions have rails instead of the old red dot sight
>yes, i love slav chin weld
>how do you know?
slav chin weld? what?
i held a similar variant of this and the front was made out of metal while the rest in the back was polymer just like in the pic, i felt it made it way too front-heavy to bereliable for prolonged periods of use
Price to acquire it in the first place not to mention price of accessories, great gun though, love mine.
piston guns are meh and hk rifle triggers are squishy

A Ukraine thread died for this
Go cry in the corner thinking about how much bait you could've made doing opposite think. moron
I'm glad it did, I'm a newbie on /k/ and I'm happy I'm already making it a better place.
Its really fricking ugly. This is an objective flaw and cannot be reasoned with.
It's not as cool as it's Croatian daughter design. Here's a question for you all, why does the XM8 appear in more games and media than the G36?
>XM8
The swoop handle. It's cool.
Depends, pretty sure the G36C is way more common
I can't afford one
None. I love it and I'm perpetually angry Mexico won't make a civilian model and sell them en el Norte
>t. cartel member Felipez
You can just shoot a cop for one.
I'll give them the whole of Austin and Houston in exchange for FX-05s
Not available in .45 ACP
i don't own one
Forever aesthetic.
looks like a generic copyright-safe gun from a video game
ugly
Integrated scopes have been stupid since 2003
you vil uze ze prioprietarie integrated zcope wiz no other optsionen and you VIL be happi
the FX-05 integrated optic is modular and can be removed or replaced easily. Its a stock option

We aren't we discussing the new Beeg Bean Yeetiza instead
what mounts should i get for a t2 and eotech magnifier to go on a g36?
