Is this the Korean wheeled IFV that Mexico is looking at? It's apparently down to a Korean vehicle and some German and Turkish options.

Mexico started quietly dumping a lot of funding into their armed forces about 2 years ago. They have a bigger economy than Russia as of this year so probably can afford it.

There has literally never been a case of Mexican narcos stealing an IFV or anything like that. They thrive due to low level corruption. The Mexican army also just extrajudicially kills people that steal their equipment. Human rights groups whine about it but who cares.

That just means the gangs need to steal all of the army's shit all at once before they have time to react. Then kill the shit out of the Mexican army with there own guns. There must be more than enough corrupt guards and desk jockeys in the Mexican army to pull that off. It is Mexico after all. Corruption and power go hand in hand down there.

They are totally incapable of doing that. It's werid how foreigners think narcos are some competent elite forces. They lose to 165cm conscripts with G3.

lmao the one time a cartel tried to pull off an actual engagement with armored trucks they got curbstomped really fricking bad by a single light infantry platoon. Narcos aren't a real military.

For what? The Mexican military is the #1 source of their recruits. You can just poach the best trained and skilled personnel whenever you want.

Most narcos are literally central American migrants middle school drop out morons from rural areas. The military pays very well by Mexican standards and there isn't a big incentive to leave it. The rich sicario myth has pretty much died. Most are now just fodder.

Well maybe the Mexicans need it to finally get rid of the cartels. Or its the cartels buying these things and they are about to get rid of the Mexican government. Who would the US react if the cartels pulled that off? Fear or anger? It would be the first time we had a dangerous and hostile power on our land border in many generations.

Narcos are hundreds of conflicting gangs who all fight eachother. They are completely incapable of running a nation. They get stamped down hard whenever they frick up bad enough. They aren't totally wiped out because crooked politicians, mostly on the left also happen to be friends with narco families who also run legitimate busiensses and donate to them. Just simple corruption.

You'd have to run the country as a dictatorship and purge 60% of the government (both elected officials and civil servants) at all levels (local, state and federal) to even stand a chance at getting rid of the cartels

Wait so the Narcos already run the government then. Huh that must mean the Narcos are buying these Korean IFV so as to kill other cartels then. The gang violence never ends it seems.

Yeah but they are part of the government so they have access to that money. That is what i am saying. Maybe one of the high up in the government cartel members is buying these things for his gangs use. As unlikely as that may seem. Do we even know which government official is responsible for this deal in the first place?

There are literally zero examples of Mexican army personnel giving armored vehicles to cartels. That's absolutely moronic, would serve no purpose and would get them pretty much immediately caught. You can't sneak a 30 ton vehicle into an envelope.

Boxers with Strikeshield are rated against many widely deployed ATGM models. I think the Eitan is too. I personally think the Mexicans should just buy the Boxer since the Germans already have a huge industrial footprint in Mexico and they could probably land a local manufacturing arrangement.

The government of Mexico has a bigger operating budget than the governments of Turkey or Australia and soon Russia. They just

In theory, yes. But no test has been conducted. Also, Trophy is automatically replenished so it has more chances of engagement.

literally why the frick would you buy something as gucci as a boxer when all you need is some wheels and a gun. Mexico, like CAN, relies on the US for providing credible defense. Their military is basically just a gendarmerie.
