thurday boots are kinda expensive for what they are, mexican made with chinese-tier qc and tons of marketing. if you want something to last a lifetime get nicks or whites, theyre more expensive, heavy and take some breaking in but the leather is incredibly strong and they can be resoled quite a few times. if you like the look of thurdsays, get allen edmunds factory seconds, they have minor visual blemishes that make them unsuitable to sell normally but are structurally fine and have better qc than thursday.

also you can get fitted for allen edmunds in a store and then order the factory seconds online.

Nick’s boots are very nice as well, but they’re more work boot style. Not a big deal, but I’d go with Schnee if you’re hiking a ton.

Fellow big foot. Depends on how much money you want to spend.

There are expensive boots that you can wear forever. Schnee boots are really good hiking boots that are very pricey. You won’t wear them out though.

On the cheaper end, Merrell Moabs aren’t bad and they’re very light so you can hike pretty far in them.

Any recommendations for dyeing leather boots? I picked up a pair of old school timberlands in as new condition but they're white

Chrome tan doesn't take well to dye.
You can usually darken with certain leather conditioners though.
White should be the easiest color to dye though so I may. E wrong in your case.

Anyone know anything about Thorogood boots for camping/hiking in cold weather? Pic related. Thinking of picking these up. Insulated and waterproof. No steel toe.

With cold weather, the main thing you want is enough toebox space or toe circulation will be restricted.
      Don't go steel toe
And waterproof may mean water traps inside, pools up and you freeze. If you do have spare socks on hand.

Got any recommendations? Kept seeing many for LL Bean boots but those are ugly as sin. It'll probably only get down to 20F in the Winter where I am if that helps. I also want to be able to wear them outside of hiking/camping. Or is that too tall of an order?

Why do you not take care of your boots?
These seem to have been neglected for a long time.
Leather needs care, especially when used PrepHoleside
