moldy stink in cabinets

Inside this kitchen cabinet, there's a really strong musty stale stench that I think is from a mold problem from before I got a dehumidifier. It's so strong that the smell lingers on dishes and I can't even serve guests on them.

I've never treated issues like this, but could I remedy the stench inside the cabinet by getting mold-killing spray, scrubbing it, then mold-killing primer and finally some mold-preventing paint and roller it all inside so that I can have a place to store my dishes?

Coat it in Borax solution. Removing it is the Final Solution, as it is already coating the walls (yellow tinge visible from the thumbnail)

removing it as in removing the whole cabinet and building a new one? obviously want to avoid doing that for as long as possible. Also I dont know how to make a borax solution I can apply and will stay put

Don't use that cabinet. Keep it closed, maybe event tape it shut.
    Store you dishes elsewhere.
Either replace the whole cabinetry and whatever shit you have for ventilation or move.

Do you actually think that's cleanable?

With a little bit of paper towel, maybe shop rags, and elbow grease sure. Anything further needs a full replacement, because it's already damaged. Suppose if you really want to do something without getting in-depth, you could coat it with linseed oil and get a space heater. If you're considering a full sanding then it's probably easier just to rip it out and replace than polish a turd.

If your cabinets look like that, you don't have guests you have hostages.

Anon I can't tell if that is a wall or a floor cabinet but it is possible that mold is behind the wood (behind your toeboard for a floor cabinet) or between the wood and the wall. In that case you will have to remediate by pulling out the cabinets.

Thermal imaging can show you where there is existing moisture (shows up as cooler spots) and moisture abatement contractors should have this capability.

You don't need special spray, just wipe it all down with bleach. Once it's dry you don't really have to paint unless you want to. Put an open box of baking soda in there to absorb any leftover smells.

Lets say I did do what I planned, and used some bleach first to clean it out as best I could...

I know its not a permanent solution but would this get me by for another few years? Cause the day of labor and hundred bucks of materials is worth it. I don't want to put effort of replacing a whole part of the kitchen when really truth is all the walls of this place should be ripped out eventually.

Just paint over it. It'll be fine.

Stick a bowl of vinegar in it for 2 weeks. I've done this to pieces of furniture and it's pretty effective
