someone posted a sneak shot of the 2 seater version and it seemed ok looking, but the vanilla j20 looks ugly basically from every angle, even the front it looks meh
like most Chinese equipment, it looks great from some angles and looks shitty from others
the j-20 just looks like cheap knockoff chinkshit from every angle. speaking of,is that chink j-20 top gun rip off movie out yet? it looked like cringe kino.
Looks like there's still space underneath for a couple more missiles. Can't they make those rotating carousels like the US has? Maybe make the belly protrude a little to give more leg room

probably too much work.
I think they'll do a folding fin version of the PL-12/15.
The J-20 would look fricking awesome if they kept the back, made the wienerpit smaller and the nose more tapered, and decreased the size of the canards and air intakes. Most of the wrongness comes from the front of the aircraft, with those weirdly boxy air intakes, weird canard placement, and too-wide nose.

Nah. Intake looks BEEFY. Very MiG25ish The DSI bulge is bretty bigg tho.

It doesn't work with those weird canards that look like a dog's ears. MiG-25 aesthetics work because each part of the aircraft from the wings to the engines to the nose is unapologetic and bold, with uncompromising straight lines and pointy edges. J-20 reeks of compromise, those forward-canting air intakes look laughable with the weird off-angle canards and the nose is the worse of all, it's divided into angles at the bottom and makes the wienerpit look even more awkward.
Backside is pure kino tho, I love the straight delta wing and the little tail finlets under the twin vertical stabilizers.

I like how the J-20 looks from the side. Sort of reminds me of the J-8II.

The design of the J-20 came from the J-9 first designs.

Canard is really good. Makes it so it can take off from a short runway, acts as brakes too when landing. Plus it looks good from the front
These new 5th gen stealth fighter jets look like someone took an actual plane, sanded off the pointy edges and corners then submerged it into wax to make it safe for children.
Just sovlless compared to kino like this:

I don't like the look of most Chinese designed fighters (I think the J-10 has to be one of the ugliest planes ever designed), but I like how the J-20 looks. it's like a Saab 35 Draken took a bunch of steroids and then got some sort of transhumanist cyborg shit built into it.
People dont realize what sort of barns flankers are. They have an internal fuel capacity that fricking eagles have with all 3 external tanks. They were designed to do missions in USSR backwater tier distances
so the kitbash aesthetic, in your view, works better because it cribbed more of the design of the lavi than other designs? I can see that, although aerodynamically there are enough differences that a wholesale copy of the design is probably not what went on. regardless in my view it looks like China did the China thing and copied Israel’s homework, but had to do enough different where they actually came up with something that looks reasonably attractive.
Bet it’s electronics suite is still ass though. And the rectangular intake definitely works better than the newer DSI.

Big dumb
my aeron gets fricking covered in dust. the fabric is like a cheese grater. i think it shreds your clothes or something when you move around. it's gross.
dude it's great don't let me dissuade you. if it broke today i'd buy another one tomorrow. it was one of the best decisions i've ever made. bought one used on craigslist, cleaned it up and it's been fricking golden. i'm exaggerating about the dust, it's just that i'm a lazy shitass and don't wipe it off. a normal chair probably does the same thing, you just can't see it since it's not mesh.
there was never a license for the MiG21 since intellectual property wasn't really a thing for the Soviet Union between communist states.
J-7 has close to a dozen variants, and the production line was active until a few years ago for the Bangladesh export order.
I would suggest you peruse some real literature on the topic since you're a fricking moron.
[...]
the j10 is literally a copy of the lavi airframe modified to accommodate chinese engines avionics.
of course they probably copied what was in the lavi as well or made copies of other systems.
>the j10 is literally a copy of the lavi airframe modified to accommodate chinese engines avionics.
Then it's not a literal copy, moron.
Airframe is the SIMPLEST THING on a 4th gen combat aircraft. Why don't you go take a look at the top down view of all the close coupled 4th gen delta canard designs and tell me who copied from whom.
china produced them until 2013. they are still operational in the chinese air force.
Outside the JJ-7s, the number of active airframes is very low, and I don't think any are in real frontline service.
license built means they literally gave you the plans and tooling, sent advisors to set up facilities aid in manufacturing and probably supplied other parts too.
>Then it's not a literal copy, moron. >Airframe is the SIMPLEST THING
it is a dead copy. israel even admitted in 1995 it transfered the design to china. its a slightly lengthened single seat lavi to accommodate chinese engines, you must be blind.
also airframe design also isnt "simple", you have no idea what you are talking about.
also the j7 is still in service, look it up. china hasnt retired it. go be chinese on www.chinadefenseblog.com or something.

How many brigades?
How will anyone take us seriously after this?
Stay strong sistas
china’s kitbash aesthetic usually looks pretty ok but the j20 is WEIRD AND UGLY.
like most Chinese equipment, it looks great from some angles and looks shitty from others

Tasteless homosexual
eat shit, bug. the j-20 looks like a cheap knock off. chinks can't build anything original.
No u

actually, J-20 and some Russian-licensed knockoffs are the only things in their arsenal that don't look like shitty plastic mockups
J20 like most modern weapon designs just looks soulless
J-20 looks good what are you talking about https://youtu.be/vKpLuyFHxRA
Best video of J-20 so far https://youtu.be/6aiyJbDXvPk
To me peak fighter jet aesthetic is the mig 25.
These new 5th gen stealth fighter jets look like someone took an actual plane, sanded off the pointy edges and corners then submerged it into wax to make it safe for children.

The wings look too thin its ugly
why does he need 4 microphones? is it in case 3 of them break?

Thankfully the J-31 is peak aesthetics.

For me, it's the JF-17, the best looking Chinese fighter. It's sad they don't fly it themselves.
i prefer the looks of the j10. it just looks… different, but not in an ugly way, you know? Like a rejected Gripen design from the mid 90s
Kind of a trend that pretty much all of China's jets look like rejects or knock offs of other jets.
to be fair, there’s only so many directions you can take aircraft design. but the mashup of eurofighter and gripen does af least LOOK nice.
IAI Lavi knock-off developed in the 1980's is why

yes, you're an absolute moron.
The only thing the Lavi and J-10 have in common nowadays it's looks.
EVerything else it's completely different from each other.
the j10 is literally a copy of the lavi airframe modified to accommodate chinese engines avionics.
of course they probably copied what was in the lavi as well or made copies of other systems.

except the other anon is correct.
there isnt single aircraft china has that isnt a copied from another.
you're a fricking dumbass.
have you EVER worked on a complex engineering program?
Reminds me of a Herman Miller office chair.
my aeron gets fricking covered in dust. the fabric is like a cheese grater. i think it shreds your clothes or something when you move around. it's gross.
interesting, I was thinking of getting one. haven't heard many bad reviews of it. maybe I'll look into something else.

That's an F16 drawn from memory
Eurofighter designed by drunkards
>It's sad they don't fly it themselves.
they do, china operates the mig 21.
"modern" J-7s are not MiG21s, my boi. They're far superior. And the PLAAF operates probably less than 50 at this point.
j7 is a license built mig 21 lmfao. china has other mig-21 copies.
when did this board get flooded with chink shills.
there was never a license for the MiG21 since intellectual property wasn't really a thing for the Soviet Union between communist states.

Their mainly operate J-11's and J-10's now.
china produced them until 2013. they are still operational in the chinese air force.

Phonegay
Why is it so small?
Damn, and the J20 is big compared to the F-35.
