>miss the railway station, hit a mall and kill a bunch of innocent civilians

>miss the railway station, hit a mall and kill a bunch of innocent civilians
>slightly clip the factory, damage a park and a canal
Is this the best achievable performance by Russia's guided missiles against big, unarmoured, static targets?

Pretty sure if USA had even 5% failure rate compared to some of the the Russian munitions used in this, they would destroy the entire stockpile in a desert somewhere and rotate stock for the new shit that will take up it's storage space.

This is war. Russia is not making the same mistake as the US did in Iraq and Afghanistan, fighting with your hands tied behind your back. When I play AoE II I also try to kill as many civilians as possible when attacking a village before I attack the main military force. Remove the productive assets of your enemy and see them crumble. Same principle here, and a great way of putting old weapons to use.

Except it didn't. Terror bombing accomplished nothing more than to drive up the body counts on both sides because the steady flow of propaganda material caused quite a lot of german soldiers to fight to the bitter end rather than surrender. Likewise, the civilian populace became more determined to support their government and more determined to suffer through shortages like food and medicine. It required a direct invasion with boots on the ground to cause Germany to surrender.

Since the start Russia missles have had 20% fail to launch 20%crash midflight 40% miss target by 100m+.
Remember although we keep saying "Russia" Russia is only 30years old madmax like mafia organisation that looted the USSR. All of its weapons were developed by the USSR 30 years ago. It's most advanced missiles where 90% developed by the USSR in the 90s before it collapsed, but it took "Russia" 20+ years to get a limited production line going.
Anything new Russia says it invented is either a paper parade version they could never mass produce, or renamed USSR made the old USSR factory lines, but actually a bit worse because the guys that knew how to run the factory retired or left the country.

I can understand that russian weapons are not as precise as western ones, but this is ridiculous. They had since 1991 to 2015 to buy electronics to make precise weapons since it's obvious they can't make their own. Christ, the fricking missiles that turks use on their TB2s are way ahead of anything Russia has.

The Kremlin massively overvalued their own geopolitical importance, an inherited narcissism from the USSR's glory days only made worse by decades of Russian seething at being just another second-tier country.

They genuinely did not seem to believe that Europe would be willing to pivot away from Russian fuel voluntarily or risk being cut off by placing technology import sanctions. They did not seem to understand that China only viewed them as a useful tool to frick with the American world order and wasn't going to risk access to international markets for a country with an economy smaller than fricking Canada, a country with just over a quarter of Russia's population. To the Russian mind their country is too powerful and important to be treated with cold economic and political calculus by other states, which just isn't true.

        Anonymous

        >They genuinely did not seem to believe that Europe would be willing to pivot away from Russian fuel voluntarily

The irony here is that they used DECADES to set the whole energy dependency thing up, fueling the anti-nuclear green movement in Germany and overall using time and resources while getting tons of money.

And now they flushed it down the toilet. THEY did, there was no input into this from EU. It's beyond stupid, delusional even.

      Anonymous

This is because the west doesn't export advanced electronics to Russia anymore since 2014. In a way, this is the west's fault by forcing Russia to use less advanced weapons.

That's why I said since 1991 to 2015. They could have made a more than decent stock of Tomahawk like LACM with western electronics (or even chinese ffs) but instead they got their ultra shitty Kalibr in stupid numbers. It makes no sense at all. In 2010 Russia started a big modernization program and they failed miserably. They were supposed to have a great intelligence branch which shpuld have addresed these problems.

The Russians are trying to put on a show of strength leading up to the NATO summits, it's why their space agency is also coincidentally showing underwhelming resolution satellite images of NATO facilities today. The current understanding is the mall was hit by a fricking anti-ship missile, it's clear the Russians are trying to project strength as a deterrent but are also trying to cut corners to prolong their offensive abilities - they have the ability to manufacture weapons systems but not the integral advanced components, it's why they have to tape fricking cellphones inside their planes and helicopters as a workaround for inability to produce quality GPS systems internally or import them due to sanctions.

Like most anti ship missiles, it uses INS to guide itself to the general area of the target, then switches to active radar to lock on and guide itself the rest of the way. Large buildings tend to look the same to active radar.

Your second video clearly shows the missile hit behind the treeline, so it looks like it hit the mall or right before it. Your second picture also shows where the treeline is, you should have noticed this when you actually have looked into it. I'm gonna assume you are a russian shill who is trying to spread lies.
          I'm gonna side with

          oh yeah here it is.
it looks like it landed either a few meters away from the building, or hit the side wall of the mall. Either scenario will cause severe damage to the building from the fireball and blast wave from the 1000kg warhead.

, the hit is clearly behind the trees. Hence why it either hit the mall or near before it.

can explain where all those trees to the left of the observation pod in the video went. Or the observation pod itself for that matter.

                ...
In the video, there is the blue observation pod, a storage yard and a crane on the far right. Behind all that is a tree line, beyond the grounds of the factory. The missile hits behind that tree line.

Maybe you can enlighten us and paint a picture of what the camera is looking at when the missile hits. Point me to the place where there is a "storage yard with crane", a tree line behind that, and more of the factory complex behind that tree line.

And make sure to outline the observation pod, storage yard and the crane. I can not give you a more simple instruction.

Since i just noticed it, the yellow circle on the satellite part seems wrong, i suspect it should be a little further to the left on the tall thin thing casting the long shadow.

Exactly thinking that when i read your posts.

            Another moron. Maybe read this:

You can clearly see the blue observation pod to the left on street view and the camera looking at it from the side of the mall. So I take it you're stupid.

              ...
In the video, there is the blue observation pod, a storage yard and a crane on the far right. Behind all that is a tree line, beyond the grounds of the factory. The missile hits behind that tree line.

Maybe you can enlighten us and paint a picture of what the camera is looking at when the missile hits. Point me to the place where there is a "storage yard with crane", a tree line behind that, and more of the factory complex behind that tree line.

            dont take the bait moron
but anyway because it's related, when originally geolocating, I also assumed the post

            [...]
Your second video clearly shows the missile hit behind the treeline, so it looks like it hit the mall or right before it. Your second picture also shows where the treeline is, you should have noticed this when you actually have looked into it. I'm gonna assume you are a russian shill who is trying to spread lies.
I'm gonna side with [...] on this one.

mentioned was the one in the video, but the angle what was included in the angle made zero sense for what was in it.
It was difficult to notice at first, but if you rotate the satellite photo to the angle it was taken to get a better grasp of the perspective...
We can see a second observation post next to a small building.
With that, we can see in the original drone photo that building with the observation post is off screen to the right. I also didn't add in the fence to the right of the new video, it's added to the new ones. I also assumed the white circled building was it at first, but it looks like it's just a small box-hut thing.
It was fun geolocating for the first time, but I suggest you guys stop taking the bait from this guy.

Here's the closest I can zoom in on Google maps, we can see the roof of the observation post is level with the roof of the building, a bit hard to see, but we can see the legs of the structure as well.
Anyway I still got other shit to finish, promise me you guys won't take obvious bait kthx

      oh yeah here it is.
it looks like it landed either a few meters away from the building, or hit the side wall of the mall. Either scenario will cause severe damage to the building from the fireball and blast wave from the 1000kg warhead.

        >the 1000kg warhead.
The missile in the security cam video looks more like a Kh-32 than a Kh-22, the Kh-32 has a reduced warhead of 500kg to expand the range of the missile.

God you trash are dumb. The Ukrainian propagandist DID make sure to mention the obvious target, a military factory they claim was 200m away. That’s a LIE the factory was right next to the mall, less than 100m away, the missiles hit the factory. However it’s assumed that a fire spread from the factory (supposedly making MLRS rockets but this is unconfirmed) to the mall.
