        Why is that?

More wheels lets you keep driving after running over an AP mine, less crew frees up personnel to soak up drones.

I was actually thinking about Smerch last night. It was one of the most hyped Russian indirect fires for years and years before the war. And its just been completely memoryholed.

Which type of infographs you're talking about? Most examples can be found onb
/misc/. In terms of military? Graphs that are made by any MSM/"free thinkers" in regards to western equipment in comparison to Chinese/russian ones.

The F35 is only 10x less observable than a super hornet, so that means they're just as capable as each other (in the minds of leaf's).

not what it says you moron
        >just as capable at meeting most of country's needs

where is that incorrect? even a f-16 would out-dogfight a f-35 with ease
theres no doubt that the eurofighter is the most capable airframe currently in service, its just that europe doesnt go to war every 15 weeks so we have not seen it deployed much

      >even a f-16 would out-dogfight a f-35 with ease
this stopped being a good joke a decade ago
the most interesting component of F-35's "performance" (in traditional terms) is that it's fricking TINY, this has dividends like modern stealth at 2/3rds of the price of a Typhoon, but severely limits the airframe overall in exchange for being even harder to hit and easier to store/transport
despite this limitation it has a high payload, longer range than most competing designs, and very small wings what allow for more agile maneuvering than you'd expect from a multirole fighter
if they didn't b***h out on ADVENT/AETP af the last minute, new block F-35s would be insanely capable for such small birds
one shudders to think what NGAD will look like, if the U.S. remembers how to build big again

Nothing in service as of yet can out-dogfight an F-35. No two-circle chasing or nose-to-nose with guns or a Typhoon using the altitude by climbing with it's beefy engines. Just AIM-9X with full 360° boresight through the fricking airframe with the distributed aperture system, no blind spots.

Maybe I'm moronic but isn't the point of the plane to be stealth? Seems to have achieved it with the tiny radar cross section compared to the competition.

Stealth is actually a secondary goal. The primary goal was giving it absurd sensors and then fusing those sensors so that the Pilot has maximum ease of operation. Its a really, really, big deal because its frees up the pilot to focus on flying and strategy. The stealth stuff was to improve survivability.

Ah. That's something you can't really put on a graph though, isn't it? One of those things you have to experience to really understand it.

There is a YT interview with an active duty USAF fighter pilot and he straight up says that the F16 is a better dogfighter than the F-35 but if you drop 12 F-16's and 3 F-35's 100 miles apart the F-16's wont survive long enough to merge and dogfight.

There was an infographic somewhere where they had pilots from a bunch of different planes do a simulated dogfight in their own plane and then an F-35, and everyone but A-10 pilots greatly preferred the F-35. Anyone have it?

I really wish people would stop talking about dogfighting when it comes to modern aircraft it isn’t WW2 anymore modern combat aircraft are closer to submarines in term of how they fight

you mean the strategy of any modern jet, fly forward and press a button to launch missiles? stop making up bullshit.

The country's needs involve flying around the US border as a show of force to Canadians (remember something like 90% of Canadians live fewer than 50 miles from the US), so of course any old shitbox is going to be equally capable.
