Minovsky particle

>The main use of the Minovsky particle was in combat and communication. When the Minovsky particle is spread in large numbers in the open air or in open space, the particles disrupt low-frequency electromagnetic radiation, such as microwaves and radio waves
>The Minovsky particle also interferes with the operations of electronic circuitry and destroys unprotected circuits due to the particles' high electrical charge which act like a continuous electromagnetic pulse on metal objects.
>Because of the way Minovsky particles react with other types of radiation, radar systems and long-range wireless communication systems become useless, infra-red signals are diffracted and their accuracy decreases, and visible light is fogged. This became known as the "Minovsky Effect".
>The only counter measure to the "M" particle in the series was to install bulky and expensive shielding on all electronic equipment, but only to counteract the effect it had on electronic circuitry. While this could be done for space ships and naval ships, this ruled out the use of precision guided weapons, such as guided missiles. Due to this, the military use of Minovsky particles ushered in a new era of close-range combat.
What are the tactical implications if Minovski particles are discovered and implemented irl?

The tactical implications are that you should watch Macross because it's better.

Pretty much anything by these guys.

I wrote a fanfic back in my youth (laptop got stolen by sister for drug money) where instead of J-pop it was DEATH METAL. Any Zentraedi who hear it just go full 28 Days Later Rage Virus and kill each other, leaving their ships and other tech completely untouched.

You saturate the area in the center of the field with fire, so nothing changes, except targets get harder to find or identify. Seriously, if you your universe has 100t machines impervious to rpgs that can fly, you might as well have flying girls with magic anti tank rifles.

Could the radiation itself not be tracked? Honestly, felt like something like AWAC or radar working based on dead zones could be set up, tracking a mobile suit's radiation signature, and then having a stand-off missile system predict and "line up" its shots with the Minovsky bubble such that the munition could remain in a state of guidance in-transit while moving fast enough that by the time the particles take effect, it would had already screamed through the field of effect and detonated its payload onto the suit.

      >This reactor was "radical" because it was the first "clean" nuclear reactor, emitting zero neutron radiation.

Why did only Big Zam weaponize the i-field? Actually manipulating Minovsky particles would have been broken as hell

It happens later. Machines like the shamblo carry little drones with i-fields they use for both protection, and for deflecting their own weapons.

Gundam was dumb from the very beginning and only got more dumb as time went on.

          Laser comms work, though.

...Until later, dumber shows where Minovsky gets so thick it blots out visual light.

It's been a long ass while since I last saw or read any gundam stuff, but don't most shows use wires up until like Zeta?

This only works if you channel your minovsky particle stream through a holtzman field inside a cylinder of upsidasium.

I guess that's how they power those giant robots?

Yeah. The infrastructural implications of Gundam having mass orbital solar farms and fusion reactors that can fit into relatively small vehicles or structures is pretty wild. The largest conceit to swallow in Gundam isn't the giant robots, or magic particles making space war a knife fight, it's that there'd be war at all. In less than 90 years Humanity went from small orbital structures, to dozens of gigantic cylindrical space habitats that each can house millions of people, thousands of mining colonies on asteroids that have ended material scarcity. There'd be no reason to fight over basically anything, most colony governments could just keep expanding either within their own lagrange zones or just move farther out towards the asteroid belt.

        >muh souls weighted by gravity
        >EarthFed political interference
The only reason for conflict was ideology and politics, resources were so common that most spacenoids lived in relative luxury compared to the people left on earth.
        >muh freedom
The Earth Federation was completely justified by keeping the spacenoids under control. What happened when Zeon gained independence? They launched a genocidal war of conquest to subjugate humanity using a fundamentally flawed premise (newtype evolution) and radical environmentalism (which they conveniently forget about) to justify what they did. This war resulted in half the human population dying, Earth being absolutely fricked by nuclear weapons and colony drops. The spacenoids should have been oppressed MORE, not less. They showed that space warps the human psyche and the resources it provides allows these psychos to build exorbitant and (mostly) inefficient weapons to enact their genocidal rampages.

Seems like they mess with cameras too based on Zeon Recoome and his blue Zaku in this episode.
