ITT we will discuss an often overlooked, but extremely important topic. Getting clean water into the bellies of an army. Sometimes this means contracting with foreign companies to bottle fresh water. Sometimes this means the troops on the ground will have to purify their own water.
Let me introduce you to the LWPS (Lightweight Water Purification System
This reverse osmosis system produces up to 300 GPH of potable water in any field condition and can be scaled up to 900+ GPH. The LWPS reduces operator training requirements, eliminates the need for additional water assets, and provides the capability to change the product water output based on specific needs.
With the most unique power source versatility in the field, the LWPS can be operated with multi-fuel engines or electric motors. No other water purification system offers the true scalability, power source flexibility and reliability of the LWPS
300 GPH (1,136LPH) maximum flow rate on freshwater sources
150 GPH (568 LPH) maximum flow rate on saltwater sources
Lightweight design allows two-person portability of modules
Modular design provides adaptive layout to changing expeditionary environments
Rugged, open-frame design allows for ease of maintenance and element replacement
Minimal personnel requirement: two-person setup and only one-person operation
Raw water source to system up to 330 ft (100.6 m) and a maximum 25 ft (7.6 m) of lift
Transportable by HMMWV, M1102 trailer, single Quadcon, air, or 1-Ton pickup truck
Operational fexibility can be achieved with the addition of Extended Capability Modules (ECMs)
– Ocean Intake Structure System
– Cold Weather Kit
– Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Module
– Contamination Avoidance Cover
The MPRO-60 is a platoon sized water purification unit.
60GPH (227 LPH) maximum flow rate on freshwater sources
30GPH (113.6 LPH) maximum flow rate on saltwater sources
Lightweight design allows 2-person portability of modules and 1-person operation
Modular design provides adaptive layout to changing expeditionary environments
Rugged, open-frame design for ease of maintenance and element replacement
Transportable by an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) or any military / civilian vehicle
Raw water source to system up to 50 ft (15.2 m)
Purification and Power Modules are stackable, reducing operational footprint
Operational flexibility can be achieved with the addition of Extended Capability Modules (ECM)
These things are badass. 60 GPH is way more than a platoon needs. I’d say this could satiate a company reinforced no problem
How many liters of (very dirty) water can these purify before it must be serviced? I assume there are (several) prefilters in place, which need to be switched out periodically or when they clog. The membrane(s) must have a maximum lifespan as well.
This is cool and everything, but for the everyday man at home, why not something like a MSR Guardian?
There are supermarkets selling bottled water even in wartime
What if you are operating away from a supermarket
There are small grocery stores, bodegas, a small shop owned by a pajeet, get real. Just buy water cuh
I've seen you make this thread before. Based water autist.
Now this is autism I can get behind.
Can it take water from sources like the above cum pit/movie cubes or is it too viscous.
I know this is just a cover thread to provide cover for your other autism threads OP, but who cares, at least it actually has some value.
It’s worth noting that the marine expeditionary units routinely carry some of these systems around
Can someone translate what this guy is trying to say
Well, I can perhaps help.
Is more reasonable considering the last 10 shill threads that got deleted and then this got posted right after another just got deleted. He's assuming your thread is just another one of them but he's at least glad it's a benign thread that has value.
This one is probably OP (You) falseflagging alongside them so you can make them look schizo.
The fact that you're marine posting again is kind of lame though but whatever I don't care about that.
Sorry I’m still not understanding what you’re talking about. Scroll up and please check that you’re in the correct thread
1172 baby
Go to sleep permanently newfag.
>this one is probably you false flagging
He's saying the exact same thing as you
The only reason you have to think it might be OP is because it wasn't you that posted it and the other post is you in which case you are samefagging.
Nah. He has a style. Lurk moar.
Either way, how long do the filters last on these OP.
Hard to say. Some sources on the LWPS say the membranes are good for 300,000 gallons. Obviously that would depend on the quality of the water that needs to be purified
Cute battle buddy. What’s the setup time on a system like that?
I wish I knew. I’m not a water dog just an admirer. From my research I understand it’s packaged in one of those small 1/4 conex boxes. Supposedly the system is a 2 man carry out of the box and can be set up rather quickly
God I wish I was allowed to take my dog to work.
Cute
How many weeks along is she? Labrador pupes cute
it's just really fat
>lurk moar
You aren't some epic PrepHole guru. You're a schizo freak that constantly samefags while accusing others of the same. You report threads even tangentially related to the UK, and any thread about the Marines has you sperging about Warriortard.
Your other threads are getting deleted so you move on to this WArriortard?
Based water dog
Haha my exact thought - must be done super moto WATER DOG
Pauly Shore, izzat you?
Wish I could contribute to the topic because I find it interesting but I’ve never even thought about this before
Don’t forget most naval ships can desalinate ocean water. A nuclear powered aircraft carrier can provide an astronomical amount of fresh water if need be.
I use a RO system because my stomach gets an ulcer from chloramine, and I can't stand any taste of plastic or chemicals. Any GPH or filter lifetime specs are complete fiction and are heavily dependent on the source water and pressure. Especially if there's anything hard to filter like chloramine which need a special type of carbon filter for that as opposed to chlorine. Hydrocarbons are probably in the same category. I pre-treat my water with metabisulfite to remove a lot of the chloramine, because filters are expensive. Membrane lifetime is dependent on source water and how well your pre-filters are doing. Also, any RO membrane from china has 1/3 the lifetime of Dow Filmtec membranes, and leaks source water into the filtered water. They are horrible.
Don't enlist with the construction utilities open contract, you will eventually try to have a nice day
I know theyre always the butt of every joke but honestly having fresh clean water is pretty great. I cant imagine anyone actually thinking the dude providing water isnt a critical piece of the mission.
>t.waterdog
Nah i was in the Airforce. There was only a handful of times i wasnt at a place with running water. Just saying thats like hating on the guy running your generator.
> verification not required
its logistical shit like this that makes the u.s. military so amazing
