    Anon it's a fricking anti-armor chopper
It trying to shoot down a tiny drone down is like trying to hit a squirrel running along the highway from the passenger seat of a semi with a cricket bat
The real travesty here is that they tried to do something that moronic in the first place

Do you really think an Apache would follow a slow moving drone for an hour and hit nothing?
It's got a gun on chin turret and a trained gunner with high quality western optics for fricks sakes.
I bet even the greeks and poles with their shitty mi-24s could have downed it.

        Yes. Absolutely.
IF someone was stupid enough to put it on the task.
And probably, a 24 has a fairly accurate 12.7mm that is a lot better suited for the task of shooting a drone down

They can snipe people. It's a laser/infared guided cannon system. They just kind of point and it can be corrected because yes a helicopter that shakes because helicopters shake.

I fly fighter jets in the USAF. I shit you not, a USAF weapons school graduate told us that we could try gunning quadrotors by doing our normal high angle air to ground strafe. Air to ground strafe in populated villages to try taking out a tiny quadrotor floating around. I wish the fricking moron tried it himself so he would kill a dozen civilians all in an attempt to shoot down an unarmed quadrotor drone.

      ?si=DEs1sKovWS_bA6I4&t=134
Starting at the timestamp, you can see puffs from the muzzle of the 30mm firing, and you can see them drifting behind the helo since it's flying forward in the shot.
There are countless videos from documentaries, war footage, and demonstrations spanning literally several decades that show Apaches, Cobras/Vipers, and other attack helos/gunships firing their cannon armaments on the move.
The drone in OP's video isn't even a quadcopter, it's got a pusher propeller, so it's somewhat large. There is, objectively, zero reason for their failure that doesn't reflect poorly upon the capabilities of their pilots, their equipment, or both.

The best part is the mi mil has a "wonder weapon" Russian made to deal with "extremely agile aircraft at short ranges" the Russians tried to sell their vaporware missile for years. If the story is true, the Russians aphen program which cost billions was complete crap and Russian helicopters have no actually working air to air guided missiles. Plus I mean that's a 30 mm auto cannon that can rip off 800 rounds a minute. The story has to be fake or something is terrible wrong with the remaining Russian copters. They could have just buzzed near the thing and tire it apart

Even in an Apache that would be a tough shot. Why would you think it’s easy?

Also why does the thread believe the drone wasn’t shot down? Because of a 10 sec video showing a chopper making two bursts? What about the 3rd? 4th? 5th? Etc. How does anyone know the drone wasn’t shot down right after clip ended? Every single one of you would have pointed that out if the nationalities were reversed.

No, I'm not saying to hit it with the physical body of the helicopter, just have it use the immense pressure of the down force from the rotor blades. For example:

        ?si=7NNW5VE4SWLfdOI3

Although, from reading the thread, it appears the Russian air force is incapable of such complex maneuvers, like flying over a low speed UAV.

You can't try to shoot down a artificial intelligence flown drown in a dog fight with guns.
