      >Saint Louis not indicated by red spot
the red spots are not very telling. You kind of need to be from here to tell what's up. If you are born and raised in Saint Louis, you are literally not welcome anywhere else in Missouri; frick off. Same with Kansas City, Missouri. If you are from around Poplar Bluff, you are either poor, addicted to meth, an alcoholic, addicted to meth and an alcoholic, or a blue-collar worker or redneck. Anywhere around Sikeston or Cape Girardeau is pretty much the same unless you go to SEMO, and there is hardly anything to do in town except leave and go do PrepHole stuff, or drink and do drugs and get STDs. Lake Wappapello is southern Missouri's best kept secret, frick lake of the Ozarks. The area around Bellmountain Wilderness and Johnson Shut-ins is PrepHole, too. Basically, in Missouri, stick to the Ozarks or the streams and rivers, like the Missouri, Mississippi, Cuivre and Meramec, and you will have all the PrepHole you can get out of this state.

But if you are a carpetbagger, fricking leave. This is God's country, and we carry guns here.

only the south end of the state has decent PrepHole stuff to do, everything else here is private property or just disappointing, the MDC caters to car campers, boomers and nu-hikers
plus it's getting real full of californians and texans, both of which need to frick off and mind their own business, i don't know what you homosexuals are up to down there but i've never seen a more nosy stick up their ass breed of people than texans

I'm from North MO and have seen none of that... it's a horrible place for camping but from a fishing, shooting, and hunting standpoint it's pretty decent. KC does suck though.

Stay on the Missouri side with your confederate Black breeding kinfolk. Southern MO has some fun shit to do. All the lakes in the northern half have pretty much been taken over and developed into mediocrity.

There's a couple cute conservation areas here and there but like other anons said, unless you're really into hunting/fishing/shooting there's not much outside the Ozarks.

KC is PrepHole purgatory. Anything really good is at least a four hour drive. Look up the National Forest outside Columbia though, that's only two and a half hours away and it has a couple quaint trails. If you're up to the drive, look into Bell Mountain Wilderness in the east and Hercules-Glades Wilderness in the southwest. The former has the most dramatic views in the state, the latter has the most varied land tract. You'll have fun backpacking either.

On the Kansas side, you'll want to grab a State Park vehicle pass and check out Kanopolis State Park in the spring or fall. Neat area with some cool trails. There are other parks I'm going to explore that look decent, but as you know Kansas doesn't have much in the way of public land. One cool thing about the state is their annual camping pass, which you can get for $200-$250. It's unlimited non-utility camping in any state park year-round. Only one other state in the country offers an annual camping pass, New Mexico.

Any questions about the area, feel free to ask.

Go to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas. Go walk to the open prairie with the Bison.

The Flint Hills in general are a very underrated area. Look into the trails there. It's not mountain climbing or anything but walking in quiet prairie can be really peaceful.

Kansas has plenty of public land opportunities for hunters. It’s called WIHA and everyone with a hunting license can utilize private land leases by the state for this purpose. You want Flint Hills? You can get in them.

Yeah not the same. Can't match the freedom available on NF or BLM land. Most of this board doesn't hunt either. Good for hunters though

Yeah I mean it’s great there’s a place specifically for us. Totally weeds out the hippies. A lot of people just want to follow a trail and enjoy a view. If that’s you Kansas isn’t the place for you. If you want to wander through the outdoors in any direction you want with a gun on your shoulder it’s fantastic.

Southeastern MO is the best PrepHole in the state. Missouri department of conservation has some huge conservation areas out there with tons of nice springs and rivers to swim in. Like other poster mentioned above Mark Twain National Forest also has some really nice wilderness areas like Bell Mountain. Anything along the current river is pretty nice. Overall MO isn't a terrible state for out, actually pretty underrated in my opinion. If you really look hard and get out into the wilderness there are some amazing areas that few have ever been to.

MO is amazing for PrepHole, definitely underrated. Kansas City, MO, on the other hand, is pure shit. Springfield and St Louis are the PrepHole cities in this state.

I recently moved to central TX from KCK. I think both are similar from the perspective of proximity to out activities. In KCK/MO you're best bet is the Ozarks in terms of nearby area, but I'd recommend just driving west of Denver if you're willing to travel 8+ hours. I don't mind driving that far personally. Moved here 2 months ago and I've already done a 15 mile loop around Emory Peak in Big Bend. Heading to Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas this weekend.

Driving 8 hours is only good for longer trips. Even if you take a day off of work for a three day weekend, the first and last day are gobbled up by drive time.

        Anonymous

depends on the trip. I used to live near Denver and did a 7-8 hour trip to Utah over a 3-day weekend a couple times. One trick is to actually leave Friday night. You might not get all the way there, but if you drive 4 hours on friday then you only have 4 hours left on saturday and can be there before noon. If you duck out of work early on Friday you can get most of the driving done Friday. Then you still have most of the day saturday, all of sunday, and the monday morning.
        I've done a 12-hour trip over a 4-day weekend before too.

KC is a hella pretty city filled with some real ugly people.
There's tons of PrepHole opportunities around though. Lots of lakes with varying levels of facilities to recreate or camp at. Even a few backpacking routes. Just look up some nearby. I got some relatives there, unfortunately we never get in the woods while I'm visiting, but I like the scenery.

I mean it’s not crazy rich or generally crazy poor. Frick ton of cookie cutter suburbs and McMansions popping up but Biden homosexualry is starting to force them to create “affordable” housing in the wealthier areas to force diversity. Kansas side is more expensive. Overland Park/Leawood area is attracting a shit ton of tech people to work for Garmin and shit. Mission Hills is supposed to be the “rich” part of the city but it’s right next to the plaza which is a hub for troony homosexual degeneracy. Olathe is all Mexicans and trailer trash. Actual KCK and KCMO are primarily working class neighborhoods. Belton isn’t a terrible spot in MO if you’re looking for an affordable neighborhood that’s more white than brown. West Port is a shithole. Power and Light for partying when the Chiefs win a game. The Legends are a nice place to hang out as well. I like it here. In terms of PrepHole you’re just going to have to buy a boat, like the prairie, or be willing to drive. Good place to raise a family. No second home owner gays like you see in Florida or Texas driving up land prices so Californians and israelite Yorkers can dodge taxes.
