>The helicopter was carrying out a flight between two airbases and transported spare parts for Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft. The Mi-8 helicopter remained in Ukraine and the spare parts for the aircraft as well.
That is pretty weird. If I had to guess why they'd be here (assuming it's legit), I'd wonder if they were resettled by the Russian authorities in a no-longer-occupied area sometime ago.
>It was a special operation by @DI_Ukraine that lasted more than six months
If it wasn't for the fact it's been planned for 6 months I'd agree. 6 months is plenty of time for his family to escape.

According to the Ukies the other 2 crew members were KIA after they realized what was going on and tried to make a run for it. But, of course that is the story they are releasing.
I want to believe this because it is hilarious to imagine Wagner in North Africa and the ME suddenly raising Ukrainian flags and declaring Moscow to be a breakaway province seized by traitors to the Russian people.
What was the effort exactly? Opening a communication channel and planning the operation? A couple pencil pushers can do that. If they managed to steal one of Russia's million dollar helis, pilots and spare parts, those guys made up for their combined salaries 100 times over. Not to mention the morale and intel impact.
Oh that's based. Just read another thread posting the cope telegram post saying it was a navigation error. Load up your heli with all the goodies Ukraine needs, fly over, defect. I think they got some monetary reward for hardware right? An Mi-8 is a pretty solid piece of equipment that Ukraine badly needs now.
Those fuckers ain't going back now, they're just Ukrainian citizens at this point.
>I think they got some monetary reward for hardware right?
A bit extra i'd imagine for the spare parts, could be useful to sell. And the Su-27 parts can be used for ukrainian planes.

Russian pilot defects to Ukraine with an Mi-8 helicopter. The helicopter was loaded with Su-27 and Su-30 parts
It was a defection for cash. Prig being killed by Putin was a big deal to alot of the veterans who seriously hate the Russian population and now Putin. More appear to be defecting around robotnik.
>No Kum-sok >Under colonial rule, No was required to adopt a Japanese name, Okamura Kyoshi. >He then adopted the English name Kenneth H. Rowe. >His father was a baseball player for a company's team. Okay this guy needs a nice movie made about his life it sounds like a totally wild ride. Dude had 3 legal names, supported stronger outside powers, and carried out the heist of the century.
>Operation Moolah was a United States Air Force (USAF) effort during the Korean War to obtain through defection a fully capable Soviet MiG-15 jet fighter.[1] Communist forces introduced the MiG-15 to Korea on November 1, 1950.[2] USAF pilots reported that the performance of the MiG-15 was superior to all United Nations aircraft, including the USAF's newest plane, the F-86 Sabre.[3] >United Nations aircraft
Hearing that phrase just seems so strange. Fug, we could have lived in a world with a US led United Nations kicking ass and taking names to restore world order. Might have also restrained the US of A from themselves doing stupid things too.
The UN would never let any nation lead the UN, it goes against the whole internationalist idea behind the UN being a supra-national power above nations and nationalism.
>The UN would never let any nation lead the UN, it goes against the whole internationalist idea behind the UN being a supra-national power above nations and nationalism.
UN is defacto US led due to it being housed in NYC, getting most of their budget from USA. When the UN actually did a military operation for once in the Korean War, we saw it was US led.
We have a defacto world order led by the USA's might, and a de jeure world order led by USA through the UN and other international bodies.

If you're not a retarded chimp, Ukraine is far and away the better option. It's looking for closer ties with Europe and America, that will likely lead to a better economy and QoL, and I'm sure he doesn't even need to stay in Ukraine after a set amount of time I'm sure he'll be released and he can just move to some EU country anyway.
Luv me a good defection. last defection I read about was pretty funny

The head of Massoud's goverment airforce was a cosmonaut.
He probably sees the writing on the wall for Russia and wanted to defect with his family to the west.
Human terminal velocity is about 63 meters per second. He falls for about 7 seconds. She shot him in the head straight down from a moving airplane while he was approximately 400 meters away.
I'll admit I know jack shit about 00.
Honestly I forget about it pretty often, not much of an AU guy.
Also, watch Xabungle.

I'm to low IQ to see the correlation. Please elaborate.
00 is not good.
S1 has a couple endearing and cool characters and it's overall a competent season. I have fond memories of cheering on Patrick along with the rest of /a/. The first episode of S2 is kino but then it devolves into dragonball gt levels of bullshit. Overall an alright watch but you watch it for the secondary characters rather than the main boys.
Original is very dated, but kinda necessary to get the full story of the Universal Century
There are good and bad series in the UC. The 8th MS Team and 0083 are my personal favorites. Char's Counterattack is also good. Zeta and ZZ are meh, but continue the story. Unicorn is sort of the conclusion to most of the UC story line.
Then you get into the separate timelines. >Wing is divisive, but I like it because it was the first Gundam series I saw and I think it has some of the best non-Gundam mech designs. It's also where the clip comes from. >G-Gundam - I don't know, I never watched it. Something about fighting tournaments or something >Seed - Original UC Gundam and Wing had a baby, not awful >Seed Destiny - a sequel/parallel story to Seed, I never got into it. >00 - I only watched a few episodes, seemed like they tried to make the mecha designs be more realistic, except for the Gundams, which was jarring >IBO - Child Soldier rebellion with Mecha

8th MS Team and Char's Counterattack are excellent basic mil scifi on their own
personally I also like Iron-Blooded Orphans
8th MS Team is a stupid romance story that wants to think it's the Apocalypse Now of Gundam. Go watch 0080: War in the Pocket. It's both more PrepHole and a better series while only being half as long. And don't worry, there's still a redheaded chick you can slobber over in that series too.
00 is basically space terrorists doing an oopsie and causing the rise of space NATO (just as planned)
My favorite is the episode where four handsome Gundam twinks and their big tiddy alcoholic work mom get dogpiled by sexy American, Euro and Russian pilots in the middle of the desert.
Probably a lot safer than trying to fight to get somebody through an open heli door, who likely doesn't want to be thrown to their death, and might hit you with the uno reverse card or just drag you out with them.
Giga based.
The balls on this guy, btw.
Not only does he steal the helicopter, he steals vital jet parts, and he flies through both sides' AD network, and now he's got a target on his back because he pissed off Russia.
Hopefully his bravery spurs others to action
>hot dog vendor killed in a prank
Nah he faked that shit (if it is even real) and is bing chilling in africa hiding as best he can. He is now Mbutu, hot dog salesman of Niger
Zero. The Ukies just got a functional airframe and some needed gear. Why try to put the crew in Ukrainian uniforms? Why lock them up? They aren't going back to Russia. They can give them citizenship, new IDs and forget about them now.
>because you can never trust a traitor not to do it again
So what? You hand him a fat chunk of money and move him somewhere where he won't have the means to actively fuck up combat operations. If he decides to return to Russia and defect again with another helicopter for the money, I'd say he deserves it.
>because you can never trust a traitor not to do it again?
Why? You can absolutely trust them. How many traitors did a switcheroo after betraying their original country?
Besides, you want to incentivize treason, so giving them a fat wad of cash and a cozy life is actually recommended
A PR stunt held in pocket to wait for something like the BRICS summit. But as far as PR goes, it is a good one. More likely a test run to for future defections - pilot family was already secured, this was planned for a long time, co pilots were kept in the dark and killed when landed.

I've been balls deep in the Quake II remaster for the past few days and missed all this. Is Prigz really dead, bros? I was starting to like that guy.
2 S400 missiles to his private jet. All aboard dead, including the QT stewardess.
Some vids of the crash. In first video the woman mentions it exploded twice, before falling and crashing. In video 2 you can see it is missing its entire wing while falling. I don't think that's feasible without violent force?
Obviously going to be sent for serving and repairs before being put into Ukrainian service though. Those transport helis are workhorses for Russia, and I'm sure they're wearing them down.

Hey Alexi, this doesn't look like Pizschenko beach!

This sounds kinda fake.
That is pretty weird. If I had to guess why they'd be here (assuming it's legit), I'd wonder if they were resettled by the Russian authorities in a no-longer-occupied area sometime ago.
That's the only way for it to not be fake. Nobody defects thinking their family is in danger back home.
>It was a special operation by @DI_Ukraine that lasted more than six months
If it wasn't for the fact it's been planned for 6 months I'd agree. 6 months is plenty of time for his family to escape.
Outside of faking his own death that was probably his only option to not get them gulag'd.
So that one actually adds to the believability.
Assuming the other two are copilot and crew chief, I have two theories.
>2 other crew members actually had no idea, and pilot was higher ranked and more senior, so they didn't question things
>2 other crew were in on it but their families are still in Russia, so they are playing POW for their safety
Doubt they were in on it, 3 people being g in on it is pretty risky
According to the Ukies the other 2 crew members were KIA after they realized what was going on and tried to make a run for it. But, of course that is the story they are releasing.
honestly if I were in their position I would fake my death too, its the only way to maybe keep my family safe
>wife thought you died
>sold all your shit and moved on
>war ends
>she has a new husband and is pregnant
seems a lot of effort for one mi-8, jet parts or no
They reeeeeally needed the jet parts
The propaganda is more valuable than the parts.
Jet parts and pilot could be a cover story for extracting a spy or some kind of valuable objects.
Priggy secretly defected to Ukraine and was smuggled out in the chopper. His blew up his own plane to fake his death.
I want to believe this because it is hilarious to imagine Wagner in North Africa and the ME suddenly raising Ukrainian flags and declaring Moscow to be a breakaway province seized by traitors to the Russian people.
That's bullshit but I believe it.

>Just don’t start anything made after 2000
00 is good
I'll admit I know jack shit about 00.
Honestly I forget about it pretty often, not much of an AU guy.
Also, watch Xabungle.
Anyone else just shocked how many shows Japan can pump out at any given time? It feels from 1982-1992 you can find an infinite amount of tv shows to keep you occupied forever.
There's a very good reason for this.
And several sad reasons we'll never see it again.
But don't cry because it's over.
Smile because it happened.
It's the things that almost happened that make it hard sometimes.
I'm to low IQ to see the correlation. Please elaborate.
google Japan's Bubble Economy
>00 is good
Its terrible, gets worse the longer it goes on.
>Ore ga Gundamu
>good
Even the lesbian version of The Tempest in Space was better than that drivel
8th MS Team and Char's Counterattack are excellent basic mil scifi on their own
personally I also like Iron-Blooded Orphans
Something about fighting tournaments or something
>Seed - Original UC Gundam and Wing had a baby, not awful
>Seed Destiny - a sequel/parallel story to Seed, I never got into it.
>00 - I only watched a few episodes, seemed like they tried to make the mecha designs be more realistic, except for the Gundams, which was jarring
>IBO - Child Soldier rebellion with Mecha
>not mentioning 0080, Victory, Turn A or X
>seed not bad
Reprehensible
Never watched Victory or Turn
I appreciate Seed for what it tried to be, it's not great, but it isn't that bad.
How do you use the internet while being illiterate?
It's alright, I just kind of have a hateboner towards Seed and was miffed you didn't mention war in the pocket.
>No 08th MS Team
But it's the most PrepHole one
He redeemed the helicopter
>russian pilot defects to ukraine with stolen SU parts
>robotcyka liberated
>hot dog vendor killed in a prank
not a good day for ziggers
Don't forgot lancel'ing their own T90 and (supposedly) getting an S400 blown up in Crimea, I mean, novorossiya
>hot dog vendor killed in a prank
Nah he faked that shit (if it is even real) and is bing chilling in africa hiding as best he can. He is now Mbutu, hot dog salesman of Niger
the Ls seem to be compounding rapidly
How to convince your 2 comrades to fly +50 km in the unusual direction?
Odds of the captain getting smoked by Budanov personally because you can never trust a traitor not to do it again?
If he decides to return to Russia and defect again with another helicopter for the money, I'd say he deserves it.
they will torture and kill him if he returns
Sounds like a whole lot of not my problem.
He's a low level pilot with no special friends. What's he gonna do?
>because you can never trust a traitor not to do it again?
Why? You can absolutely trust them. How many traitors did a switcheroo after betraying their original country?
Besides, you want to incentivize treason, so giving them a fat wad of cash and a cozy life is actually recommended
Why is baneposting so powerful? I thought it had gone cold, but them BAM two times real life baneposting of the highest caliber on the same day. wtf
It's a pretty big meme
for u
It's a big meme.
and you
U U U U
This entire situation is tailor-made for bane posting. Why are you surprised
Now you have four (You)s
Traitors get the rope
Ukes really get mileage out of those Uber-type apps, huh?
do we seriously need a thread any time someone defecates in Ukraine
A PR stunt held in pocket to wait for something like the BRICS summit. But as far as PR goes, it is a good one. More likely a test run to for future defections - pilot family was already secured, this was planned for a long time, co pilots were kept in the dark and killed when landed.
imagine the atmosphere in russian helicopter crews now trying to figure out if their pilot might plan to do them in
>There is 1 Impostor among us
Fighterbomber says it got lost and landed on an enemy airfield.
Lol nobody died. The killed thing is to give the others cover, otherwise there’d be no reason for them to just offer that information.
maybe but they still suspect it and monitor family communications anyway to be sure
>have a late morning
>recent news in ukraine have been sluggish maybe I sit this one out today
almost missed all this clownery bros, great stuff
>sit one day out
Misses:
Russian Airforce pilot defects with aircraft
S-400 being destroyed in crimea with the help of a recon drone
Ukrainian special forces perform raid in Crimea
Prigozhins Plane gets shotdown by Russian Airdefense
The Pacing on this Show is completely shit to be honest
I mean liberation of robotnik has been kino but I think that's wrapped up by now
As relevant as it always has been it seems
Oh yeah, and AFU apparently landed some commandos in Crimea to start some shit.
>Prigozhins Plane gets shotdown by Russian Airdefense
I just heard of this from my new neighbour, Eugene
he just moved from Colorado, but has a really weird accent, must be from the mountains or something
pic related, it's him
>MFW "I showed you my mercenary group, please respond"
Looks like a denver hipster to me.
They got my zigga Ibrahim Lincolnovich!
I don't think that's feasible without violent force?
https://files.catbox.moe/g7rx92.MP4
https://files.catbox.moe/feemew.MP4
>the QT stewardess
pics
I wonder if her ass was a regular component of in-flight entertainment
Have they blamed it on the Ukie glowies yet?
I assume it's an even split between this and "Actually... Prigor HOHOL hero."
>Orthodox cross
>Russian flag
>chud flag
>Z
Yup that's a russian schizo alright
>simps for Russia/China
>chud
>somehow a Christian
This isn't even the first time I've seen this trifecta and I'm baffled as to why.
It's only the the chud part that is unusual. They love sucking dick, but only if it is 100% male dick.
Naturally.
Ah yes, Ukraine, blowing up airliners deep in Russian territory and midair no less.
Kek.
I mean, considering how utterly incapable Russia seems to be at internal defense, would it really be that far-fetched?
>these reactions
Kek, I don't think they're buying it.
The absolute state of the fucking thing. Most oil wrestlers are covered in less oil after the show than this helicopter.
Obviously going to be sent for serving and repairs before being put into Ukrainian service though. Those transport helis are workhorses for Russia, and I'm sure they're wearing them down.
