It's estimated that Brits caused deaths of 60 to 165 millions of Indians during their rule.
A guy who contributed to British decline and helped Indians regain independence is a hero by comparison, even if he caused some casualties (especially to non-Indians) as well.

Nowadays we consider Hitler some kind of unspeakable absolute icon of evilness, but really, he wasn't that special among the politicians at the time.
Plenty other leaders were engaging or considering engaging in genocides. What was unique about Hitler is that he committed genocide in Europe - and while it obviously makes all the difference for us, non-Europeans don't care for it.

Do you know why there were so many legless veterans of the cooler Afghan war? BTRs were pretty much the opposite o MRAP, ergo mine enabling, ambush supporting. Riding in them was a deathwish and without a/c it was also uncomfortable a hell. So soldiers have been riding it sitting on the roof and the more moronic ones had their legs inside of the hatches. This was one cause, the other one was that casevac was non-existent and russian rubber tourniquets sucked ass.

They really don't have that many IFVs left anymore.
They do have a ton of mobiks/kontraktniks.
Basically the direct opposite of the initial stage of the war.

Whatever way their APC fields of rust have deteriorated its clearly fricked and chinese golf cart is now the done thing. MAybe their in service numbers were just grossely distorted to begin with they were fricking massive for APCs/IFVs at 13758 and something which minusrus helpfully tells me are 94% destroyed.

You could argue that having survivors that are incapacitated for life and that you have to pay a pension to is even worse than your men being KIA, that’s why so many weapons are designed to cripple you and not really kill you outright.
For all intents and purposes if you are out of the frontlines, you are out. It isn’t about killing as many of the enemy as possible as it is reducing their fighting strength and inflicting economic losses, and Ukraine war veterans will certainly suppose a constant drain on the Russian state for decades to come.
Also Russian medical assistance in the Russian military must be the stuff of nightmares.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how wounding works. The better something is at crippling you, the better it is at potentially killing you. There's no kind of fine discrimination between "wound enough to cripple", and "wound enough to kill", it's always a big dice roll. This idea is every bit as fricking moronic when boomers said it about the M16, as when you say it about any other common weapon of war.

It could be simpler than we think. Tanks with rust can have it scraped off or ignored. But if a Russian APC with paper-thin steel armor rusts, it rusts all the way through and you're left with a hole in the roof and hole in the floor.

The wounded figure is a really bad estimate based on 1:3 killed:wounded ratio of more civilized armies who practice unknown technology blyats such as "casualty evacuation" and "battlefield medicine".
It's simply extrapolated from the recorded kills.
          427 840 * 3 = 1 283 520

In reality, the number of wounded russian combatants who die is closer to 100% than 25%.

They've lost their entire active tank fleet, pulled another out of storage, lost it, too, and now they're working on the third. And the crazy part? They can probably do it another once or even twice before they really run out, depending on how bad the condition of the really deep storage gets. But, hey, that also means another 18,000 Russians are going to burn to death inside those tanks, so it works out.

Because there's is still more artillery you moron. Russia amassed vast stockpiles of artillery and armor back when they controlled eastern Europe. There's a graph of known losses vs stockpiles and production floating around, they also bought from NK a bunch of pulled artillery pieces.

Nta. The chart is listing the pre-war numbers. If they had 10 active tanks as of February 2022 when the invasion started, took 20 out of storage as the war progressed and necessity arose, and lost 20 tanks in total during the course of the two years conflict, 100% of the pre-war active tanks have been indeed destroyed, but there are still 10 left to deal with nonetheless. Maybe the first Belgorod raid could have had a large impact on the war by drawing away Russian forces from the front ahead of the counter-offensive — but this one was never going to achieve anything. A handful of guys (a few hundred at most) with a couple of tanks, APCs etc was always doomed to fail. At BEST they would get in, take a few pictures, and get out. Just a propaganda stunt. There’s important reasons why Ukraine needs wins, even if it’s just optics wins, but for us watching the war it wasn’t going to result in anything useful or interesting.

Ukraine-Russia war live: Anti-Putin armed groups loyal to Kyiv launch fresh cross border attacks
The anti-Kremlin groups claim to have captured the village of Tyotkino in Russia’s western Kursk region

Russia‘s National Guard (Rosgvardia) has said they are repelling a Ukrainian-backed armed groups attack near the village of Tyotkino.

The three separate groups of Ukrainian militias are mainly comprised of anti-Vladimir Putin Russians.

“Rosgvardia units are involved in repulsing an attack by enemy diversion groups near the village of Tyotkino in the Kursk region,” the national guard said.

One of the pro-Kyiv volunteer groups, the Freedom of Russia Legion, warned Russians living in some border cities of imminent shelling attacks.

It comes as Moscow has been accused of breaking laws in a separatist region of Moldova ahead of this week’s presidential election.

A senior official in ex-Soviet Moldova said Russia was illegally printing ballot papers in the breakaway region of Transdniestria.

Moldova’s pro-European authorities have already summoned the Russian ambassador to complain about a decision to open six polling stations in the pro-Russian enclave, instead of a single polling station at the Russian embassy in Chisinau.

'They will make inroads' Russian militias threaten Putin with 'election day surprises' | Robert Fox

We Prepared this Operation for Russia’s Sham Elections’ – Freedom of Russia Legion Fighter
A Freedom of Russia Legion representative reports ongoing combat in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, with active drone operations and multiple Russian Armed Forces vehicles destroyed.

“We timed this operation to coincide with the week of electoral procedures, and as concerned citizens of Russia, we decided to express our opinion about these elections and the Putin regime,” Baranovsky, of the Freedom of Russia Legion (LSR) told Kyiv Post – even as combat continued in Belgorod and Kursk.

The LSR, along with the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and volunteers affiliated with the Siberian Battalion are all now on the other side of Ukraine’s border, fighting against the Russian army in Russia.

Baranovksy said that it’s crucial the volunteer fighters’ message is heard both in Russia and abroad.

“We appeal to the entire international community, Western countries, the United States, and their leadership so that they do not recognize Putin as a legitimate president after these elections,” he said.

Baranovsky said upcoming elections in both Russia and occupied Ukrainian territories are neither free nor competitive.

“According to Russian laws, in a state of actual martial law, no elections or referendums can be held, but they are still proceeding with them,” he said. “Therefore, even under Russian law, these elections must be recognized as illegal. We, as concerned citizens, have decided to draw the attention of all interested observers, primarily the international community, to this fact.”

Martial law has been introduced in full on the territories of Ukraine annexed by Russia (Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Kherson Oblast, Zaporizhzhia Oblast). In the regions bordering Ukraine - Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Rostov Oblasts, Krasnodar Krai, as well as in the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol, a "medium level of response" was introduced, in other regions of the Central and the Southern Federal Districts - "level of high readiness", and in other subjects of the Russian Federation - "level of basic readiness".

"Our based elephants :)" is a meme originally referring to Republicans.
It means unexpected support from an outsider which, by all accounts, should be opposing Russia.
It's 95% ironic and implies that the support is either a coincidence, a cheap gesture to gain trust, or some other insidious ploy.

In this case it most likely means that the author is not Russian and only falseflags as one, and Russians are calling him out as outsider.
Which must be the reason the channel name has been cut out of the screencap.
