I'm still kind of tempted to get the LUX, even though I live in a no rifle hunting state and there is nothing the lux can do for me that my national match m4 can't do and that I'd prob replace the sights and my M4 has match sights. I like the idea of open sights way more than I like open sights. I took the buckbreaker horn sight off my henry and replaced it with a skinner peep and post and a QD shitmark red dot. I fricking know I'd buy a peep sight for it and then do a bunch of moronic shit over trying to get a red dot on, not liking the comb height with the dot, not liking that the dot wasn't QD stripping the screws ect

Do the new CZs have pressed checkering? Fricking hell. Americans really killed that brand.

pretty sure the lux is marketed to yuros. Its a yuro style stock and yurostyle driven game hunting sights with a threaded barrel. Pretty sure the CZ600 American is supposed to be marketed to American hunters with the normal stock

"American" just means "no iron sights and a stock shape invented a century ago for wartime cost cutting"

American means a stock you can shoot prone and shoot with using an optic without needing a chin weld

Everyone wants to be Blazer or Heym these days, I guess. Wish they would keep the old 550 bolt and stock.

        >yurostyle driven game hunting sights
That would be Battue sights, which are not present on Lux version.

Anyway, if I'm buying, I'm buying a used 550 instead if this. 600 is ugly and short.

The Lux sights are pretty close to it. They are a skeletonized rear u notch with a fiber optic and a front fiberoptic. Don't see how they are functionally different from the battue sights, especially with that short sight radius

They've "modernized" their manufacturing methods, ie : they make cheap disposable shit, like every other generalist brand.

Do not get the swappable barrel version, afaik they recalled them because barrels were flying off. If you want the most out of accuracy, you want a permanently affixed barrel. The CZ600 is still the best damn option on the market even without the swappable barrel meme.

You morons need to realize this, if you want a different caliber just buy a separate gun that shoots that caliber. Swapping calibers was a 2000s meme that I'm surprised hasn't fully died yet, but it's a failed concept that costs more than it's worth.

the issue was the gun would fire out of battery/fricked up head spacing if you installed the barrel wrong. you can technically just call up cz and send your gun in and get the caliber changed by the factory/service center. idk if its free

      >You morons need to realize this, if you want a different caliber just buy a separate gun that shoots that caliber.
Or just buy a gun specifically made for it. There are some gunsmiths in the US that make multiple-caliber rifles and of course they've been popular with European richgays forever.

      >Swapping calibers was a 2000s meme that I'm surprised hasn't fully died yet, but it's a failed concept that costs more than it's worth.
It's an ancient meme, actually, and traditionally it was very expensive because they were bespoke guns and the barrels were all individually fitted to the rifle that came with them.

      >If you want the most out of accuracy, you want a permanently affixed barrel.
Not really. To hunt safely and effectively you don't need sub-MOA groups. 1-2 MOA should be enough, and lots of contemporary takedown rifles are capable of shooting 1 MOA and sub-MOA groups. I work in the gun shop for the company that offers takedown rimfire rifles - .22LR and .22WMR, and they are capable of sub-MOA groups. Of course, .22WMR doesn't pack as much of a punch and pressure as any centerfire round does, but that's just how it is. Parkwest Arms and euro gunmakers make full-power takedowns and they're quite precise.
      >he CZ600 is still the best damn option on the market even without the swappable barrel meme.
Let's put it between two options - affordable Zastava LK M70 and more similarly-priced Winchester M70 Alaskan (current production CRF version) and Tikka T3x Hunter. What makes CZ600 superior to those?

Reach out to Zastava USA or serbian factory. The serbian site still lists M85 as in production.

I have the 600 LUX and the only con I have with it its that its a bit heavy, otherwise bolt is smooth and I like the safety, as well as mag lock.
