>It's a pod that can swivel downward to strafe targets while flying leveled
Yeah, what don't people get here. Like this fucking retard
How you going to change magazine mid flight? That's just retarded.
Also, if this thing is close enough to shoot, it's close enough to get shot.
This is beyond retarded.
>Also, if this thing is close enough to shoot, it's close enough to get shot.
It's not trivial to shoot up at something flying fast even a few hundred yards above, particularly if it's shooting down at you, and has the fundamental energy advantage.
An AI directed fast turret that can crunch all the math and has built in ranging etc and just pump out head shots is a legitimately scary possibility. Even 30 cal being fired near straight down is going to be plenty lethal.
A sufficiently stabilized drone with an accurate system would be very effective, but this is an AK.

But it's obviously OBVIOUSLY a demo prototype. Come on anon, every single major modern weapons system has taken a solid amount of development from initial demos to refined operational capability. Other anon was arguing against the concept not that one implementation too.

there are soo many variables that even "muh math" cannot solve it, the Apache M320 cannon is innaccurate as fuck even with all the cool FCS gadgets
>there are soo many variables that even "muh math" cannot solve it
Retard. We've had stabilized platforms and smart guns that could let a noguns do shots at 1000yd for like a fucking decade now. >the Apache M320 cannon
Is trying to solve an entirely different problem with entirely different variables in terms of mass and movement.

Retard, a land based gun will fire the bullet in a low arc, where variables like air density, viscosity and such are constant, if you add quality control for the shells/ammo you can guarantee every bullet is going to behave the same. Now you can't do this on a unstable drone, flying, imprinting the bullet side drag, it would be impossible to calculate even with "muh super ai space logic".
So shut you retarded ass and go to school you cum connoiseur

>Retard, a land based gun will fire the bullet in a low arc, where variables like air density, viscosity and such are constant,
No. Just a darker spot of ground changes those variables considerably. If you want to slit hairs, even the travel time of the bullet changes some of the variables significantly.

We've been doing that on planes for more than 50 years. It's not that difficult. That doesn't mean it's easy, but it's doable in a sensible amount of time to a sensible amount of precision even with some guestimates about the conditions along the bullets flight path.

I bet you think you cant drop a bomb into a pickle barrel from 18000 feet too

You don't need an AI for that.

Depends on what you want to hit, how long the drone should be airborne (if it has the carrying capacity to begin with) and what consequences of not quite hitting your target are acceptable.
Why don't they just put a fixed 20mm or something instead, an AK looks extremely dumb
Because it's just meant to get people to invest money instead of being a real product.
soviet vibes
more vibes
this is just an opened gun pod, nothing viby about that honestly, it just gives guns capability to aircraft that have pylons but no guns.
Unless I'm missing something.

>Russians thought they would catch battalions of enemy troops marching on a road with a bomber.
It worked slightly better than filling the bomb bay with anvils.
Embarrassing
Wouldn't an AGS make much more sense than any kind of rifle/machine gun?
