Keep in mind that Japs mostly don't have a ton of exposure to guns, and they get things like dimensions and other basic info wrong all the time in anime. Thinking back to the twins arc where Balalaika told her men to let their "5.56 Ak74's roar" or something like that. But that's really the only big hiccup in the show I can remember.
