Lock-picking

Hi, I need some help here. Is there anyone who is good at lock picking who would like to teach me how to lockpick, maybe on Skype or discord call, and be paid for it? I've bought 3 lockpicking sets (lost one) and practice for about 15 minutes a day watching tutorials but to no luck.

    Just practice on easier locks
Also you can make your own lock picking tools with bristles that street sweepers leave all over the side of the road

        You learn by picking locks.
It's based a lot on feeling rather than knowledge.
If you're good and you've picked a lot of locks, then you've stored a lot of feeling knowledge.
But if you're new, you're going to struggle on one lock for days or weeks.

door locks can be picky, but you might get lucky like

Bro, I made a lock pick from two bobby pins, one was the tension bar, the other was roughly filed to look like a lock pick.

I was surprisingly able to open my back door in about 5 minutes of fiddling. Just watch youtube channels about lockpicking and you should be able to pick up the general idea of what you need to do.

did. most door locks of acceptable quality have special security pins in them. serrated pins create a false set by falling into place on cuts in the pin, so it feels like you've set the pin but you really haven't. you can keep pushing it through until it sets, usually. mushroom and spool pins are uncommon, but they're brilliantly designed: if you get a false set, it's entirely possible that you'll have to reset the lock and try again. they stick against the lock body when pressure is applied, and wedge themselves in.

take a look at lockpickinglawyer if you want to get a better idea about security pins. if iwere you, i'd just try to single point pick it like a padlock. just remember that the SC1 and KW1 keyways most commonly used in america for doors are better designed than the M1 keyway, and have an additional 2 pins to contend with.

alright. i have beginner lockpicking experience. here's how i learned the absolute basic b***h lowest tier knowledge

first: get some cheap padlocks, but not *too* cheap. brinks, master, those are both good. stay away from walmart hyper tough or dollar store locks, because those are deceptively easy to pick: usually you can jostle the bar holding the shackle in place because there's zero protections built in. master and brinks, to their credit, patched that exploit in most of their locks.

once you get your locks, take it very slow. start on the pin in the very rear of the lock. can you feel the pin? if you can, are you sure you're not feeling two? move the pick back and forth slightly until you can feel it better. once you're sure you have one, you can continue. if not, select a pin you might think works better. remember that slimmer and smaller is usually better on padlocks. don't try to single pin pick with a frickin clover pick. just a hook is best.

then, apply some tension with a tension bar placed at the bottom of the keyway. a good idea for tensioning is what you might apply to a real key: since you're learning, lock and unlock your padlock with the key to figure out how much tension it takes. then, slowly move your pin up so you have a tactile and audible *click* and your tumbler moves a little bit. hold the lock up to your ear if you're a half-deaf moron like me. the important part is that you memorize not where the pin sets, but how it feels when it sets. it's very distinctive.

now that your first pin is set, you can move to the next: slowly and steadily move the next pin up. maintain pressure on the tumbler, try not to release it or apply a lot more. it's a balancing act, but it's easy to understand after a few tries.

if you can set the other 3-5 pins, you'll turn the tumbler. most cheap padlocks only have 4 non-security pins, so you won't need to worry about false sets from serrated or mushroom pins. 1/2

now i'll tell you the easy ways to say "frick this shit" and Black-hack locks.

      >1
you see that wiggly pick there that has teeth about halfway down? that's called a rake pick. if you apply even tension to a shit padlock, you can literally RNG you pin sets and pop the c**t open by "raking" the lock. you shove it bacl and forth in the lock body like you're brushing your teeth. try not to hit the back of the lock or remove the pick all the way, that's inefficient and fricks you up. or if you like poking the lock's cervix...
      >2
take your thinnest hook, drive it all the way back into the lock, and wiggle it in the direction of the lock's lettering (if any is present). if not, just go in the direction of the keyway and see if you need to move it later. what you're shooting for is the portion of the lock holding the shackle in. it'll feel mushy because it's spring loaded. on really, really shit locks you can move this enough to pop the shackle without setting pins.
      >3
if it's an unshielded shackle (90% of shackles. seriously. people are moronic), you can fit a thin shim around the shackle and push that same locking bar out of the way. this works for keyed and dial entry locks. you're aiming for something about .010" thick, grab some chinkshit verniers from harbor freight if you want to be technical. a soda can properly cut and hammered thin can suffice if you bend it *perfectly*, which isn't as hard as you think. it's not worth the nicks and cuts though, just buy some .010" and ideally some .060" or .045" feeler gage off of amazon. you can make custom picks with the .060". idk if it's exactly .060", you're not a machinist so it doesn't matter, just find something thin enough. use your harbor freight chinkshit verniers and measure your existing picks if you want to make your own picks.

also i forgot to mention the oddball shit

      >lockpick guns
fricking suck. they're for gays. it's the same idea as RNGing your pinsets like the rake, but you lose all feeling and they're expensive. you're basically just nerfing yourself.
      >lishi picks
useful if you're trying to reverse engineer pinning on a lock. they also apparently have some that are meant for car doors with dual sets of pins.
      >dial/combo locks
many a video has been made on this. combination locks suck, no one who's serious about security uses them. i was able to figure out how to crack a hyper tough combination lock in about 5 minutes before i dremeled it open to see how it works (hint: all the internals are made of plastic. you could probably force the fricker open after putting it in your mom's tea water). basically the idea is that if you pull up on the shackle and move the dial, you'll set it in the gates unless there's a false set. even if it's a false set you just push the fricker through. then you just pull the shackle open. i don't have the knack for it because it's just weird to me, but any autist who is dedicated can figure it out and then be able to crack 100% of all combination locks ever without any tools. not that you should even bother because they're all moronicly easy to shim open.
      >weird plastic locks with letters and shit
opt for destructive entry simply out of spite. i'm sorry, if you have to get past one of these, hammer the c**t and give your locksmith customer/friend a better lock. they just suck.

you may want to invest in a better lock then. if you only needed to fiddle with it for that long, your pins are shit. either repin it with mushroom pins and/or serrated and/or spool pins, or go and but a better lock. schlage tends to put at least a couple token security pins in their door locks.

Probably solid advice, but I've since moved from that place. My only goal was to practice on my doors so I could break into my downstairs neighbor's house to clean their abandoned apartment that was constantly unleashing millions of fruit flies into my place. Unfortunately their locks were different than my own and my shitty handmade picks didn't fit in her lock.

Fortunately I forced the landlord to clean the place after I threatened to stop paying rent. He showed me the condition of the unit and it was awful. Complete hoarder. Trash everywhere. Felt bad for the landlord since it was easily $10k in damages and cleanup he was gonna have to do.

it was section 8 inhabited by a minority wasn't it?

i used to work in a hardware store located in a wealthy coastal region of a northeast state. in that hardware store, there were tons of contractors who would buy carts full of contractor bags, cleaning supplies, sink and drain parts, etc. they were rehabbing section 8 housing after the very diverse tenants moved to greener pastures. they would have to scrape months of trash out of the rooms, take up all the carpeting, replace stick on tile, wash the walls then prime and repaint, all the furniture had to be destroyed because of fleas, it was fricking horrendous.

Surprisingly not. She was white, late 20s. Never really met her, but at one point her gas and electric were shut off for about a month, but my landlord said that she paid her entire rent year by year.
So she wasn't strapped for cash, just not on top of things.
            It was odd
She also had a loud abusive boyfriend that my roommate called the cops on a few times, yet the woman would always say nothing bad is going on.
One night she was having a party with friends and for about an hour and a half it sounded like they all took turns throwing glasses at the wall and shattering them, then cheering.
            It was fricking wild.
Landlord's son is also a landlord, the son seems to do a lot of section 8 and I'd hear all about how fricking awful the places would end up being.
