AKs are cool but there isn't really a practical reason to get them anymore unless you live in Alaska. Wish I was born earlier so I could get ultra cheap x39 and AKs... feels bad man 🙁
you can get great ARs and AKs for around the same prices. What is a good AR or AK worth, 1200 dollars? You can get great options for both within those price ranges.
It takes about 1 second to do the good old reach around. Or maybe you could do one of those silly "Iraqi reloads". I think it hardly makes any difference honestly. Bolt hold is really nice in something like an AR but not as much an AK copycat, which has pretty shite ergonomics anyway. Some people can train enough to reload ARs and AKs to pretty close speeds. BHO mags on AKs can be handy in that it makes it quite obvious to the shooter when the mag is out.
>weighs more >heavier recoil >no BHO >shittier ergos

literally all of these have been fixed on different AKs.
meanwhile shitty VZ.58 has an AR safety selector on the RIGHT SIDE of the gun by default.

They fixed jack shit idiot
Milled 58 still weighs less than a stamped AKM
Recoil is heavier on all 7.62 AKs because the BCG + piston have more reciprocating mass
No real Soviet AK has BHO gimmicky yugo mags don't count when there's no bolt release >shitty VZ.58 has an AR safety selector on the RIGHT SIDE
Nobody with a brain thinks the AK clunky homosexual selector and exposed action with safety off is better you moron

nah I'm going off of having owned both rather than citing wiki specs that don't even mention if the rifle is without an empty mag or not. keep splitting hairs and fanboying over one rifle vs. one that does the exact same thing because you're too broke to own both and appreciate the advantages and disadvantages both offer over the other, if you own either at all. you're a twit.

Black folk always need their property to be status symbols, you cant just own a gun, you have to own the best gun ever designed by human hands, even if its literally pointless shit like weight differences that are effectively unnoticable.

I also own both you're just a gay homosexual making shit up if you think stamped AKs are lighter
And standard 58 mags are also lighter

lol soi arms can't handle what, 4 more ounces? >Recoil is heavier on all 7.62 AKs because the BCG + piston have more reciprocating mass
yeah but with a slower fire rate which is easy to control. Both guns would be easy to control anyway, but you have soi arms. >No real Soviet AK has BHO
the soi has to move the goalpost. AKs have had bolt holds but who cares. People who are not soi can just reach around in one millisecond.

Do you think entirely in buzzwords? >4 more ounces
Lighter weight is never a bad thing in a fighting rifle, as long as it doesn't effect durability. >yeah but with a slower fire rate which is easy to control
What the frick does cyclic fire rate even matter? Post your transfeable machine gun, because that's the only case where the point you're trying to make makes sense. >AKs have had bolt holds but who cares. People who are not soi can just reach around in one millisecond.
Post a video of you doing this in one (1) millisecond. Also, it's nice to know when your rifle is empty before you squeeze the trigger on an empty chamber. >it is better
No it isn't.
I'm 90% sure you don't even own an AK or AR.

ah well, i didn't want to say this, but the vz58's bolt carrier is completely open to the elements while firing. Inferior to both AKs and ARs. Case closed.
also you don't own a vz58 or AK, when at least i own a few AKs.

None of that matters, I like AKs therefore they are the best. >heavier recoil
try not being such a b***h
Because if I'm going to own a subpar, outdated commie rifle barely capable of sub-3 MOA groups I might as well own one that I can accessorize and not look like a child's attempt at drawing an AK, complete with a more enclosed action, mags that cost half as much, a stock that's actually in-line with the bore and furniture that doesn't conduct heat like a motherfricker. Christ I do not miss my vz2008.
A decade later and the AK still has no games.

Why do people still want AKs when vz58 exists? Is it the aftermarket or sovietboo nostalgia?
good luck finding anything else for it after you dump around 1700 dollars into it
hardly different than a milled AK with a BHO mag anyway
You're moronic
BHO mags don't give you true BHO if the bolt drops once you remove the mag

>same AK gays shitting and pissing themselves with rage when someone calls the AK a MP44 copycat
AK is better than both of those.

ITT: Coping zoomers who cant afford imported AKs or a not shit AR
AKs are fricking trash and have fun sourcing 5.45.
Why do you think units that can obtain NATO weapons in Ukraine are ditching their Warsaw Pact shit?
