Why won't the Euro gays just admit that the AR won, and stop making SCAR style abominations that are heavier, more plastic and uglier?

It's still mostly ar18 copies so it don't matter either way.

How do they come up with this abomination if they're trying to retain the AUG gas system? They've done it previously with and it looks much more like a standard AR

    >Steyr innovating anything
You moron, any fan of the AUG knows Steyr is run by Neofudds who shoot down anything their marketing team hypes up and has been doing the same shit unchanged for the last 30 years

Steyr patented the pistol chassis system that is currently making Sig rich back in the 90's and they did absolutely nothing with the patent except make basic pistols and not even sell slides and frames separate. They finally sued Sig and then lost lmao

Do you guys have any clue how Austria's manufacturing industry and security state is? They're literally in shambles.

Glock will end up a zombie in the 2030s too after the government contracts dry up. Not unlike how Colt and Remington went broke in the 2010s, and Winchester went broke in the 1980s.
Colt got bought up by CZ in 2021. Remington got split up in 2020. Winchester got split up in 1980, when its parent company Olin Corp. kept the ammo division but sold off the firearms division to its employees, who then went bankrupt in 1989 and got bought by FN Herstal.

This is true. I just want a 24" barrel and they absolutely refuse to ever make any. That said, I enjoy mine quite a bit and it's my main tactical rifle.

They are literally my favourite, the way they reload is just easier for me and feels more natural honestly, and that extra barrel length is nice.

Are you some ESL lower caste asian shill?
      >It even known among the best assault rifle in the world
Back up this claim because from the gas system and charging handle it looks like an even shittier version of China's new service rifle. What makes it good?

        >What makes it good?
The slight possibility that you might be able to convert it to something resembling a standard configuration FNC

The product rep in the TFB video mentioned that they can also chamber the rifle in other calibers, and listed off a bunch, included 6.8x51.. Makes me wonder if he was just rattling off a bunch of short action cartridges, or if the locking system indeed is robust enough to handle the increased bolt thrust of 6.8x51.

      >or if the locking system indeed is robust enough to handle the increased bolt thrust of 6.8x51.
100% Bullshit. There's no way 6.8fury can be handled by the bolt and chamber thickness of something used in 5.56. They would have to redesign the core of the rifle to handle 6.8 and with the internal change, an outside change would be needed too.

        Anonymous

The rifle pictured is a short action, not a 5.56. Same action length and same case head size as 308. So idk maybe they did future-proof the design by making the chamber thicker and locking lugs bigger/longer.

Remember when everyone was switching to bullpup except the Americans and Slavs? Good times

You can thank Eugene Stoner now

Some of the early tests were fricking hilarious though.
US and the vatnigs agreed that it was fricking moronic to go bullpup even as far back as the 60s.

Almost every SOF group in countries that field bullpups are also using AR/stoner pattern rifles which is even funnier.

And we all know how stubborn they were with the l86, only took them 2+ decades to get the rifle to stop breaking from minor use and 3 revisions.

Even more funny to me, it's a canadian manufacturer.

I genuinely don't get the fanaticism around them, buddy has a auga3 and it's nice besides the dogshit trigger but for the price there's no real reason to go that route besides a gucci 14.5.
Still might snag one some day for shits and gigs
