I want to say this is for manlets with small hands that have no risk of getting hammer bite
But I get hammer bite and I'm 4'9 with this

      >hammer bite
can someone explain to me how you actually get this? I've been shooting a 1911 and a FN HP all my life and I've never had any trouble with getting hammer bite

Depends on your hand size. 1911's, my Star BM, and Hi Powers with ring hammers all give me hammer bite, but Hi Powers with spur hammers do not.

If you're a man with man hands, you'll get hammer bite with the iconic ring hammer.
        If you're a twink, not a concern

Some people say the spur is better and others still say it's worse, I don't know whom to believe

I weigh 120 lbs and still get hammer bite. I guess it's a combination of my high grip and the fat-layout of my hands.

I will occasionally get some hammer bite from my 1911, but it's not enough of an issue to b***h& moan about or put a big ugly extended beavertail on my gun

The BHP has a godawful safety, that's the only recommendation against it
The trigger is bad too but it's sufficient for SD/HD

I'd buy a girsan imitation for the look and maybe upgrade to the real thing if luck was on my side

Post your gun, and post your Hi-Power with the mag safety removed

Not him but it's like the easiest and most common BHP fix. Mine doesn't have one either and someone lost the trigger pin in the process too

I recently got to try my buddys M9A3.
The recoil and overall feel were much better.
I still luv my cheap Hungarian HP, but is there anything I could do to the stark muzzle rise?
                Different recoil spring?

This and port it. Just get a 5/32" metal drill bit& put 3 or 4 in-line port holes right down the center of the slide directly behind the front sight. Lightly de-bur with a dremel bit& you're good to go

There's nothing inherently wrong with the Browning's recoil, it's just that the Beretta has a lower recoil than other similarly sized pistols due to it's locking block action instead of the tilting browning action. The Berettas grip probably fits you better as well. Not to mention the better SA trigger.

But that being said the Browning Hi-Power in 9mm should be a softer shooter than a Glock or other similarly side polymer pistol by a wide margin simply due to it being a steel framed pistol in 9mm
