I have one of those and the Holosun equivalent of the Romeo5, and though they're decent and have worked fine so far... They don't even come close to comparing to an Aimpoint Pro and the Pro is needlessly heavy and outdated and I still 100% would rather have the pro on an actual duty/fighting rifle. So yeah, I do need more. But most people aren't working with their guns, hiking/camping/hunting with their guns or training with them on weekly basis. So for most people the Sigs and Holosuns will do fine.
That being said the budget tier Magnifier from Holosun is literally JUST AS GOOD as the magnifiers from other brands. Perhaps even better.
A Holosun 403B is better in every single way than the Pro >lighter >better battery life >doesn't have snowflake batteries >way cheaper >smaller
The only possible thing that the Pro is better at is slightly better passive aiming but you can just buy an AEMS Core for 100 dollars less than the Pro and have performance as good as any high end passive aiming optic.
It's one thing to look at things on paper and it's another altogether in practice. The cool thing about the pro is not only the clearer glass, the better dot, the QUALITY night vision capability, the incorporated QD mount, but most importantly how bombproof it is. I don't deny it's outdated but it's not beat by the poverty options. At least not yet, but I can definitely see that happening in the future.
I own other nicer optics than the Aimpoint Pro, and I own cheaper optics. For me the pro is the best out of the cheapest available options provided you don't mind the few extra ounces. Also the battery is commonly used and available absolutely everywhere since it's a common battery in the electronics world. It is not commonly used in optics however, so I can see how someone who was born yesterday and is barely getting into guns can think it's some rare unobtainable battery.
>QUALITY night vision capability
The Pro has terrible NVG capability, only slightly better than the 403. This entire garbage argument is also entirely out the window if we talk about more expensive Holosun or Sig optics that are still cheaper than the Pro. >can think it's some rare unobtainable battery
Can't buy it at the local grocery store, it's way rarer than 2032s, AAAs or AAs.
I literally bought mine at my local grocery store lol. Either way for the sake of the argument let's say they can only be purchased online, they have a 10 year shelf life. Just buy a few online and you're good to go for years. You're imagining some "le SHTF survival scavenger" scenario aren't you? If you're in a 10 year SHTF scenario the last of your worries is acquiring batteries
It's not insurmountable to have the different battery, sure battery stores do have it, but in 2023, it is a legitimate disadvantage compared to anything on the market that uses way more common batteries.

The disadvantage only exists if you're imagining a SHTF scenario that goes past 10 years. If the batteries had a small shelf life and you were constantly running through them (like on an Eotech), I'd be more likely to agree with you here. But otherwise you're splitting hairs anon.
I got my pro at $350 on a flash sale so definitely happy I went with that. I don't have to worry about it's durability since it's one of the most tested and respected optics out there. Quality control is important anon.
>t. no nods
Dealing with eye relief problems with a scope is far worse with NVGs than in the day time. A forward mounted red dot will be far superior to any LPVO for that. A scope of any type is way, way worse for NVG use than a red dot.
All red dots have a notch filter to be able to have a visible dot. Cheaper dots like the 403s (and the Duty has the worst lol) have more visible tint than like the AEMS or T2, but all of them have the red/yellow appearance at the front.
Less, actually. I prefer a rheostat knob for brightness control instead of buttons
fpbp
I have one and I like it. It feels sturdy and holds a zero. I don't know what else is needed for a basic rifle rdo setup.

It's not personal aesthetic but if it works it works

>red dot
>magnifier
just get a LPVO at that point lmao
Can't passive aim with an LPVO
How little do you shoot to not be able to get a sight picture within a few seconds on a scope?

you absolutely can
Bindon aiming concept
easy to learn and just as fast as the dot
>you don't need to buy a red dot, just spend 8 grand on dual tubes instead for a way worse solution
Yeah.
why is it yellow tinted ?

T2 green in front no?
bro I just posted an image of it
It's red orange
Super shitty chink ones are just partly silvered.
I hate that garden gnome screw like you won't believe
Durability and reliability is nice. Cope 2 ur grave baybee. Fuck you see you.
