Land Nav

Imagine a every man for himself retreat like in Operation Flashpoint. Do you think you could walk cross country from Kramatorsk to Dnipro or find your own way across the river?

Sounds kind of exhilarating tbh.

    >Ukrainian reporters make video from territory around Dovhenke, show off captured Russian vehicles and it's boxes of ammo
    >Russians from there wrote that they had to leave wounded behind with grenades to kill themselves
    >according to Rybar it "firmly in Russian hand territory"

Notice how it does not come with a warning that it is state funded.

Well, first of all - are you moronic or just lying? There is a giant big sign that states just that.
Second, there is a difference between state-funded and state controlled.
Third, RFE have been surprisingly good and reliable. Their content obviously is curated in its coverage, but they've yet to embarass themselves to the same degree as France24 or FOX. And unlike RT and Pervyi, it's pretty obvious that the people they talk to are not coerced/drugged.
They even managed to dig up some of their old war correspondents from the Yugoslav era, making them one of the 5-6 media with remaining experience of covering wars from the frontlines.

Russians also never conquered Bohorodychne, in fact Ukies advanced from there further north recently, and yet he marks it as Russian.

I remember when Russians on /k/ and /misc/ were celebrating some pontooning that supposedly captured the land to the east of that city and SOON^TM they will take Sloviansk. Week later pro-Russian forgot about this supposed attack, that never actually happened(or comically failed) but still kept area painted red

Don’t need to. I and another guy got left behind on an objective in najaf back in 07. We just hardpointed and got picked up like thirty minutes later when somebody realized they were missing a sniper and a fister.

      Marines?

Army. Funny story though I knew a prior marine in the guard that got blown up and shot through the wrist while on his commanders tac. The commander and SGM went full high-ho silver charging off into the fray and left him for dead. Almost bled to death and decided on a hot afternoon in a culvert that he would not be re-upping.

I remember them leaving some dead Marine on the road around 2004 after a ambush that didn't even involve a IED.

He tells the story better than me. Saw him post on fb not too long ago, still in the guard apparently.

Yeah, early game opens up with the NATO force investigating Everon, making a few solid attacks, moving in to the region thinking things are secure, then some surprise soviet tank columns move in, NATO command gets scared because no support so tries to consolidate all their forces, and during that time Hinds come in and wreck all the NATO convoys, and a general "GTFO Everon" begins, your character has to improvise a way out by meeting some local resistance fighters.

Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and Resistance are both spectacular campaigns, among the best video games of all time.

The ARMA III secret ending has similar vibes and reminded me of that mission. It's even more dire because there is no hope for rescue.

Remember when he used to move the label for the towns further away from the actual town itself so it looked like the Russians were occupying parts of it?
