Is it a kruat thing to be tight ass, what's the fricking deal here anons?

Do you guys really want to see a remilitarized Germany after the display a mild taste for vatnik cum. Not even talking about the current addiction to their poo gas. This goes back to the Cold War with open soviet terrorist cells like the Red Brigade operating in West Germany or when they together started WW2 with the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. Before that they systematically carved up EE with the austrians and vatniks before WW1 put an end to their empire larp.

A Germany with a military becomes unironically a security risk for euro specially when they elect another vatnik asset chancellor that stays in office for another 20-30 years.

Better for Germany to remain the economic engine that it is and leave the militarization to the ones that have something to defend and fight for like the various EE parties resisting the vatnik invasive parasite.

Germany so under resourced it's military for so long they likely have little left to send. But this is definately by design they still wouldn't if they could, and are blocking others sending German made arms as an example.

Canada's in a somewhat similar boat where they've so under funded there's literally nothing left to send, but in their case they'd be up with the Baltics likely if they could spare any more kit.

Canada's problem is it doesn't have an indegenous MIC. They're a component supplier not an OEM except in a few cases. Hard to justify buying anything more than the minimum when there's no political largess involved, hence no stocks of anything to give away.

Germany's 'problem' is almost the reverse, it's such a big manufacturing economy it can't help being a big exporter of OEM systems despite itself, but it similarly just buys the bare minimum for its own, and would rather not have the responsibility.

Politics also go reverse on Ukraine in both countries almost perfectly (Canada being an energy exporter with rabidly anti-Russian ethnic blocs to appease, while Germany is an importer with a neutered instinctively anti-war pop)

Yeah, at the end of the day they need that Russian gas so that their elderly don't freeze in the winter, and that should take priority over some Slav shithole. Frankly, if Germany hadn't postured as the proxy leader of the EU, nobody would have cared that much; buy they regularly do and so their inability to deliver support looks bad. To be clear, I don't believe that the need for gas is their actual reason for being so obstructive (I think key players in their government have been paid off by Russian interests), but its the excuse they ought to lean upon because its perfectly legitimate to prioritize your own citizens welfare over arming eastern euros.

            >Germany has no treaty obligation to Ukraine like the US, UK and Poland (not sure about Canada)

This is a US-Russian proxy war in which the EU, and therefore Germany and France, is the biggest loser. Basically Russia destroyed all possibilities of increased European independence of the US. Especially since the US have been leading a trade war against Germany for some time to curb their power. Are you saying that the U.S. DOES have a treaty obligation? When did that happen?

'Cause if you mean the 1994 "Budapest Memorandum" shit, the "treaty obligation" on the U.S. was identical to the "treaty obligation" on Russia -- to file a complaint with the UNSC.

The U.S. did that. Russia vetoed it. Ironically, Russia could follow through on its treaty obligation and then veto it just so that they could say they did what they were required to do, but they haven't.

I don't get it. They of all people should know!

Who else? Besides, Germany is Europe. If Germany says Europe is to be dissolved, it will be so.
          >Better for Germany to remain the economic engine that it is and leave the militarization to the ones that have something to defend
We have Ukies to defend. But we have no stuff to give. Still, the pressure is on Germany alone. Do you see pressure on Italy or France?

If there is to e a future defended Europe and European interests (which are always German interests too), it is to be done by us.

The German MIC has repeatedly stated they are standing by to start producing weapons for Ukraine. All the government has to do is pull the lever.

But you people HAVE to understand something. Even though Germany is a junior partner in the Western-dominated world order therefore must at least follow the soft power commands of the US and EU, it really, REALLY doesn’t want to. What it really wants is to get Russian gas back.

It has NOTHING to do with freezing in winter. That’s just a propaganda slogan for boomers, no one is going to freeze to death. The EU is going to have a comfy warm winter like they do every year. White, western nations take care of basics like that no matter what.

The problem is INDUSTRY. The German industrial sector is begging to abandon the sanctions regime and get back on the gas. That gas infrastructure was built up in the 70s and 80s in partnership with the USSR — Germany provided high-quality steel and the Soviets provided the labor. Ever since German industry has become increasingly hooked on that cheap energy. A very large portion of the industrial heartland of Europe (ie, Germany) runs on gas. Not getting it is disastrous for them. So there’s tremendous political pressure to abandon Ukraine which makes it hard for them go further in support.

      Anonymous

      >What it really wants is to get Russian gas back.
Not going to happen, Vatnik. Shouldn't have cut us off. Now we know never to trust in your supply again.
Enjoy selling your gas in China for a pittance.

And to help /k/ understand the issue with gas better. It’s much less portable and fungible vs oil. Meaning it’s a PITA to move around and convert. It MUST move via pipeline or be converted to a liquid form (Liquified Natural Gas) and shipped via special containers. Russia is the world’s largest (maybe second I’m not sure) producer of gas and most of it goes to Europe. When that gets cut off there’s NO replacement for it in the short term. LNG facilities are major projects so therefore the world simply doesn’t HAVE a bunch of excess capacity to cover large shortfalls of supply. The world’s LNG exports are maxed out, there is no way around that.

thanks for schooling stupid /k/, /misc/. It really means the world to us.
      >Russia is the world’s largest (maybe second I’m not sure) producer of gas and most of it goes to Europe.
Not anymore. Now your biggest customer is China. But you are only the 7th biggest gas supplier to them, which means they dictate the prices.
Enjoy your own stupidity, Ivan >:^)
      >LNG facilities are major projects
Two of them will be built, the first, in Wilhelmshaven, will go online in December.
      >The world’s LNG exports are maxed out, there is no way around that.
Except building more LNG terminals and converting ships to transport the stuff. You Vatniks always stop thinking after your move. Do you think the world will simply do nothing and resign to your shenanigans?

You must realize, Europe will never again depend on Russia for supply. It's done. We don't come back as customers. Enjoy your good relations with China, India, North Korea and Iran. If those allies don't tell you that you are the baddie, nothing will.
