I think they'd focus on Zaporizhzhia before that.

      Anonymous

It wouldn't be the Ukies target. Precisely because the vatniks will panic and toss everything to reinforce Siev. It makes a lot more sense tactically, supposing this offensive pans out fully, to let the Russians cower in Siev and piecemeal the rest of the country. Just a few HIMARS strikes every week or so to keep their heads down and give them the impression that the Sievening is on the way.

        Anonymous

        this along with this

I think they'd focus on Zaporizhzhia before that.

make the russians shit their pant and send people hastily and in bad order to kherson and Siev, then fricking dash it to Melitopol and break the frontline in half, with one half presumably having the lions share of actual RF forces stuck in a place with shit supply lines and the other half staffed with mostly demoralized DPR/LPR

          Anonymous

          >shit supply lines
On that note, these units aren't individually equipped properly, and their supply lines won't follow them in good time if they do scatter to Siev.

Will we see Russians cannibalizing each other by the time the Ukies mop it up?

Ukrainian attacks are moving ahead of their own artillery and are at risk.

            Anonymous

Ukie lines get longer and they outdistance their indirect fire support while generally someone on the routing side eventually pulls the panicking morons together and organizes a defense. Line of contact will shift.

It might change the picture strategically if:
            1. There is a very large surrender or encirclement of cut off men from the route.
            2. Ground lines of communications can be severed from the new position.

But most likely it won't be anything huge, just an important gain for Ukraine.

Everyone once in a while the winner in a route gets too excited and out distances all their support, then gets routed back in turn. They seem smart enough not to do that though.

And then sometimes panic and bad morale actually collapse an entire strategic front, e.g., MacArthur's moronation leading to the massive US route across the whole of North Korea and beyond, the total collapse of Russian resistance in later 1917, etc.

There two ways to go about rationalising that. Either:

              >Russia had tried her utmost to win and had lost anyway. This meant she was an inferior nation, destined to be dominated or even destroyed.

              >Russia had tried her utmost to win and would have, if she weren't CHEATED out of her victory. This meant she was a superior nation, destined for greatness or even ultimate survival at the expense of all others.

They are going to chose later because all nations pick the later. Nations are funny like that.

I dont think Moscow and St Petersburg are that brainwashed though.

New guy succeds Putin. He says west bad and special operation didnt prosper (There is no way he can hide that). Rich russians (the few million that dont live in shit) see how life standards fell and fell and fell while they get denied acces to evil west due to a war that didnt manage anything.

They lose everything, then gain nothing. They wont allow this to happen. New guy can be friendly with west or cannot be.

He will be replaced by chaos because Russia doesn't have a functioning transfer of power. The West will back a liberal, but the liberals are all disorganized and weak from years of oppression.

Xi will back someone nominally "nationalist," who will of course want closer ties with China to help fight the evil West. And the cucking will be complete. Someone who is beholden to Xi for power will be on the throne even as Han Chinese become like 40% of the population in the Far East.

Putin's FSB buddy, career intelligence officer and longtime friend of Putin believes that the United States wants to break apart Russia as a country and that Ukraine is the platform to that end.

Other candidates include Naryshkin, head of Russia's foreign intelligence service who has known Putin since the 1990s. Naryshkin is so influential that every so often he has brought up as a potential successor to Putin, In his daily activities Naryshkin heads the Russian historical society which is tasked with historical revisionism. He is also the person who started the whole Nazi Ukraine narrative.

Meanwhile Bortnikov, who is the head of the FSB intelligence service, plays a key role in ensuring secure worthy and control over Russia. His security apparatus employs hundreds of thousands of agents, and collectively they oversee counterintelligence, border security, electronic surveillance but also suppressing political dissidents. Bortnikov is one of the key power Brokers in Russia.

Notice how there are no oligarchs in that list. That's because the oligarchs lost power to the Siloviki long ago.

      >Takes back Kherson
      70-85%

      >Takes back areas in the northeast around Kharkiv
Looks like it is happening now potentially.

      >Takes back Donetsk and southern Luhansk
40%. Russia will still likely be able to impose high costs for that area and the marginal benefit of retaking it is reduced for Ukraine as infrastructure gets destroyed and the population is more fricked by conscription.

      >Crimea
      10%

Seems unlikely just because of the logistics. It's also going to be one of the lower priorities so it'll come later, but I can't see Western aid flowing as freely once Ukraine has everything else and continues to push from Crimea.

It's still possible though because you could have major game changers like:
      >Death of Putin is who reportedly ill
      >Major unrest in Russia (does not seem super likely right now)
      >Major unrest in Belarus, leading to Russia having to "liberate" that too (seems more likely)

I think taking Crimea can only happen if they get f16s and MBTs. There's a difference between retaking bombed out villages with overextended supply lines and a region with a pro-russian population that's had years to prepare. Also given how important Crimea is Monke might finally mobilize to avoid the humiliation.

If they take Kherson and the East, Crimea becomes untenable. The harbours ar ein range of land-based anti-ship missiles then, and the bridge is gonna get cut. What do you think that pro-russian population in Crimea is gonna do when the food and water run out?

Good in their own ways. Kyiv was the sign that the Russians couldn't immediately decapitate the Ukies and put in a puppet state.

This today is the moment where the Russian invasion functionally collapsed. It's a matter of whether you liked it when Russia was proven to be a paper bear, or when their back was well and truly broken.

Ukraine plans to transport 2 million tons of vegetable oil per year through a cross-border pipeline to Poland. Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

It is preliminary planned that the length of the pipeline for transporting oil will be 600 kilometers from the Yagodina district in the Volyn region to Gdansk.

Solsky stressed that Ukraine needs to create alternative powerful logistics export routes. Since many oilseeds are processed in the country, such a pipeline is one such option.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy dealt with this issue for several months. In particular, they conducted an examination and consulted with business.

"Construction will take less time than the coordination of all documents. The pipeline will have several hundred kilometers, and along this distance it is necessary to take into account the interests of many communities, people. We are more concerned about this than the construction itself," Solsky emphasized.

According to him, first of all, sunflower oil is planned to be transported through the pipeline, but there are also rapeseed and basedbean oils.

Construction costs will be announced in the next one to two months. The final amount will largely depend on the specific route and terrain.
