Will never happen. George Kellgren only likes automatics. He's probably the person most pissed about the NFA in the whole US.
I will never understand why this company triggers people so much. Just don’t buy the guns if you don’t like them.
They have some of the best ideas but fuck up the execution, and being a patent firearms company, nobody can make them better until the patent expires. Hearsay goes that their more serious guns like the P50, RDB, RFB, or SUB2000 are better now, but they're not putting their heads on the block by promising you anything
>semi auto .22lr/.22mag
no shit sherlock, those are the least reliable rounds in existence because they're rimfire. what do you expect? every .22lr firearm is going to have failures to fire and the occasional failure to feed. failure to eject and frequent feed issues are different, but as a rule .22lr firearms are not nearly as reliable as any centerfire.
>make a really cool innovative design >give it one glaring design flaw and >make it out of the most ghetto-ass materials available
I wonder why people would be upset about that.
they shouldn't be, because other companies can safely edit the flaw out of the idea and release it. i am convinced that kel-tec is just a team player who is making innovative guns for as cheaply as they profitably can, so other people can iterate. look at the S&W FPC, it's literally just a S2K but with the hinge rotated 90 degrees and with a slightly different stock. kel-tec hasn't kicked their shit in over what was pretty much their unique idea that no one else really did in the same way, which leads me to believe they're alright with other companies iterating on their design.
yeah exactly. that's a good thing for everyone. they come off as really professional and team players, other companies get the chance to iterate and make even better guns for us, and we're not forced to pick because even for people coming in late to the game the kel-tec guns are usually available and cheap. tbh i would have a hard time picking between the S2K and FPC now, the only thing bringing the FPC down is S&W being a bitch about magazines. i don't own any M&P series firearms, i probably never will, but i do like glock. that makes it an easy sell on the kel-tec.
Is .22 mag that weird? Full disclosure I am noguns and mostly just lurk on PrepHole and make the occasional dumb joke comment. But I've always wondered why people don't recommend .22 mag for a first firearm while .22 lr is recommended often. It would still have manageable recoil , it's still among the cheapest calibers on average (I feel like it's usually on par with 9mm in the charts I've seen lately). It's got a little more oomph, I know people often volunteer to be shot with .22 lr to prove how undeadly it is but I've never seen this happen with .22 wmr, leading me to assume it's possible lethal. Keltec makes some interesting looking guns chambered in it, you can find revolvers and rifles in it. Just something I've been wondering about, thanks for reading my online journal entry.
I don't recall seeing many boxes of .22 magnum, but I always see boxes .22lr unless there's something causing a panic buy
It could partially be that I'm not looking for .22 mag, but availability and cost are almost always going to be driving factors when somebody makes a purchase

22mag had a bit of a resurgence, maybe cause NRA gave out 22lr/22mag revolvers a ways back. it's still a dinky rimfire that doesn't benefit from 22LR scale or variety and has no real place in the world. it's not really a plinker or wildcatter or cheap or reloadable or versatile, it just fits in a couple specific novelty handguns.
22 mag is significantly less common than other conventional calibers, but it's far from a niche caliber and there's no shortage of guns chambered for it.
It's especially popular in 22cal revolvers.
It's "weird" in the way that I don't know anyone that owns a .22 mag AFAIK. But .22 mag is pretty popular with some hunters. .22lr is way more common and cheap though and you might have a massive 10 foot section of .22lr in Cabelas you'll probably have 3 choices for .22 mag, maybe 5, all single or double rows of 50/100rd boxes. .17 may have two or three choices.
.22 WMR makes a lot of sense as a varmint/small game round, if you need a bit more range and power than plain old .22lr can provide. That said, it's kind of a weird choice for a handgun caliber. The range gains are negated by the fact that you're shooting a handgun, and it's not exactly an ideal self-defense round either. It's just fun I guess.
the very light wildcat-ish niche it exists in makes sense but >rimfire >interchabable with 22lr guns sort of but not really >mostly fits in handguns
is pure nonsense there's just zero alternatives in that sort of style that is still available in this century. closest factory shit is like .380acp/makarov and it's not that close. (not including hornadies)
.22 Mag occupies a strange middle ground. It's a lot more expensive than .22LR, making it less desirable for cheap plinking. It is more powerful, but that's not as good as it might seem. .22 Mag is overkill for shooting small game like squirrels and rabbits, it causes too much meat/pelt damage, yet at the same time it's not powerful enough for ethical hunting of larger game like deer. When someone wants a more powerful hunting rifle than a .22LR they usually step up to a centerfire caliber. Most of the time people are going to avoid .22 mag and shoot the cheaper .22LR if they want to target shoot or pick a more powerful cartridge for hunting or defense.
I love mine dearly. I suggest watching TNP's review, he pretty much nails it on the head with any talking points I could come up with.
Disclaimer: I did send mine back to KT twice (on their dime) and they made it work flawlessly.
You know, if there is a company I have any hope of making a TKB-022, it's Kel Tec. I also hope that if they do consider them, that they use helical magazines. I also hope that they go all the way and use ammo with 70k+ psi in small-for-caliber cases for maximum space efficiency and a long barrel (at least 26-inches) for peak performance.

>"Alright guys, it's time to make our bi-yearly batch of guns to sale"
"But boss, wouldn't we sell more guns if we made more of them?" >"You're fired, get this guy outta here!!"
The problem with Kel Tec is they can't seem to make more than a few guns at a time. I mean, are they had mixing the polymer or something?
they probably figure the market is saturated with used kel tec guns circulating around, and that it'd be foolish to just dump out a bunch of new ones to sit and get dusty while people save a buck on the old ones.
They seem to prefer undersupplying the market much the way that Nintendo does. My understanding is that they insist on making everything in house because they tried sourcing production to other companies and it didn't go well.

PMR's selling points are: >30-rounder >22mag distinguishes it from the CP33 >It does that big-brother-little-brother thing with the CMR
If it were available in 9mm, it wouldn't hold 30 rounds. If it were available in 22lr, it would be overshadowed by the CP33. In both cases, the CMR would also have to be offered in 9mm or 22lr to match. CMR in either 9mm or 22lr would also lose a selling point or be overshadowed by the CP33.
Only reasonable thing would be to offer it in 5.7 or .17, which people already constantly ask for.

Something actually practical and cool no one’s done yet like a .350 Legend levergun.
handgun that shoots 12g slugs

I've got it. A Scaled down man-portable gatling gun in something light, like I dunno, .32 auto? You hold it with one hand, crank it with the other, and it's technically not a machine gun.
>anon firing his prototype
?t=5
I'm imagining a 2030 ghetto bank heist with tyrone trying to spin up his polymer nig-portable .32acp gatling gun but the handle snaps off because it's plastic secured with a single hex screw (he also literally never oiled the gun)

dual-tube lever action. half the shit you need is already there, take it from the KSG
bullpup PCC, which surprisingly seems pretty uncommon. it makes total sense in a kel-tec way: you get reduced OAL, all the benefits of a standard PCC, but it's short as it can legally be and way more compact than any other PCC on the market. do the multi-mag/glock thing like the sub2k, call it the sub3k, be done with it.
offer a new SLR or whatever their 5.56 handgun is but in .350 legend
low bore axis revolver in .357, rip off chiappa because fuck paying $2000 for a fucking revolver. don't even make it fancy, just the basic shit a revolver like that should have. if you really wanted to rustle some jimmies, find a way to make an optics cut ahead of the cylinder.
make an AR. literally just an AR. teccies like myself would love it, and they'd probably sell a good amount of them. find a way to put a fun kel-tec spin on it.
Toaster that is also a 22. The goes off whenever your toast is ready
Ross Rifle Action, in a polymer stock, chambered in .277 Fury
how you gonna have a lever delay in plastic? i can't figure it out for myself.
nevermind i'm a retard and dont read good
Has Kel Tec ever fucked with Trounds? I feel like they should fuck with Trounds. Out of all the motherfuckers out there, their likelihood in fucking with Trounds seems to be at the highest percentage, even if that percentage is still low...
