Karen Myanmar conflict

What's the current status of the Karen rebels? It seemed like they were steam rolling the Myanmar government

Also, apparently, the UK is working with Myanmar to try to clamp down on 3d printed firearms

It's the 2012 Olympics mascot. They're harmless really, it would be more concerning if they actually spent a ton of money on manipulating public opinion on it instead of just something for the office.

        >UK is working with Myanmar to try to clamp down on 3d printed firearms
Yeah because the rebels are using them, they're basically ripping them straight from US 3D gunprinting hobbyist sites and using them.

The source is a UN delegation, basically helping thirdies keep up to date with the changes in legislations the first world is doing so they can also keep up to date with modern threats.
Often states that are weak just straight up copy homework because it's easier.
        >"Delegations may also wish to consider the usefulness of updates of the
Legislative Guide for the Implementation of the Protocol against the Illicit
Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Their Parts and Components and Ammunition, the Model Law against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Their Parts and Components and Ammunition and the Technical Guide to the Implementation of the Protocol against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Their Parts and Components and Ammunition"

As for the TV license thing, it's dumb, and noone within the UK would think it rational either. They have other registers they could use that don't require yearly tax. The TV license is pretty specific and I highly doubt it has anything to do with them, unless the BBC is going to be giving away 3d printed lowers and cups on bbc.co.uk anytime soon, in which case that might actually be included with the TV licence perhaps, but that's not really that different to the streaming they do in terms of ownership of content. Either way it seems like TV loicense isn't really relevant to the topic.

why is the UK government partnering with a junta?

Because the UK government pioneers authoritarian stuff and wants to see if thier latest versions they came up with and they think will work actually will.

The inability to control arms scares the uk that invested heavily in banning small arms and light weapons from civilians decades ago. They have been instrumental in these bans in UN law, and international affairs well outside the scop of domestic restrictions.

Civilians able to just print weapons without any machining background, heavy equipment, or industry is a major threat to authoritarian rule.
Consider the UK has little respect for civilian self defense and even tries to get rid of pointy knives in the home.

The UK is just majorly anti fun. They don't care who it is. If there ever was a gun ban here in the US you can bet your ass tens of thousands of bongs would volunteer to assist with it

You're damn right I would. If I can't have anything fun, neither can you.

Well you see chap, fun is just not very gentlemanly, now is it? And especially if it relates to those pesky firearms. Those blasted contraptions are just unsportsmanlike and that's why no one on the planet should have any. Here in Ol' Blighty we prefer to have solve our differences with good old fashioned knife fights. That's the closest to fun you can get really.

        I wonder why.

It's a UN document. They're just copy-pasting shit from the UK's domestic study/thinktank on tackling 3D printed firearms because heaven forbid the UN actually did any work themselves.

Those were the some of the worst Olympic mascots ever conceived. What the hell were the bongs thinking when they designed those NWO/big brother mascots?

never going to happen unless it's the general staff saying 'I surrender'.

The myanmar government things that every ethnic group other then Burmese deserves genocide despite living in a country with like 160+ of them. This has created quite a few ethnic militias who basically run their own countries now.

They literally just (yesterday) won the largest victory in the war so far by capturing Myawaddy, a city with a population of 200k and the most important trade hub with Thailand. Meanwhile the central government is bumbling from one defeat to the other, with low-level soldiers surrendering and defecting at every opportunity while their general are too busy stealing everything that isn't nailed down.
