The only reason Russia helped is because they wanted to spread their influence to that region. Obvious that this backfired since it shows that their commitments are useless, since they can't even hold fucking Azerbaijan back.

I wonder if Assad is a little concerned that Russia is shitting the bed so badly.
If Turkey does invade, they’d be powerless to stop it.
Iran also keeps losing it’s militia’s to Israeli F-35s while Russia does nothing (or their S400s are utter shit).
When Russia is your friend, why need enemies?

Why the fuck would the west help Russian’s cockholster?
They chose their side. The west supports Azerbaijan, or they would’ve done something. Instead they’re talking about increasing reliance on Azeri fuel imports.

Uh they won the war in the 90s. They're gonna get nonstop btfo from the last war into the future without some drastic changes but the Azeris in the 90s were comically inept and had no real advantages against the superior Armenian forces then, the situation has completely changed since then however.

When the Seljuk Turks invaded we were distracted by our conflict with the Roman Empire. Our priority should have been to prevent the Turkish hordes from gaining a foothold in the region. We miscalculated.

If the Armenians didn't ally with Russia, this probably wouldn't have happened,
      Pick you friends wisely.

Wrong. Azerbaijan was Armenia's ally and rulers for most of Early and Late Modern history. Azerbaijan was never part of the Ottoman Empire either. Iran's Safavid and Qajar dynasties were Azeri.
Armenians just go around distorting history to conflate Turkey and Azerbaijan as being the same, when actually they were enemies for most of history and were completely different empires.

Armenians, backed by their diaspora and Russian weapons, proactively took territory in the 90s. Not just Nagarno-Karabakh but all the land around it all the way to the borders of Iran and Armenia. This land was several times the size of NK itself, and ethnically cleansed of its non-Armenian residents.
That's the only reason Azerbaijanis hate Armenians so much. There's a large chunk of the population who have grandparents or relatives with homes that they had to flee back in the 90s.

        >Iran's Safavid and Qajar dynasties were Azeri.
But they weren't Shirvani (aka modern day Azerbaijan), not to be confused with the Azerbaijani province in Iran.
They only adopted the name Azerbaijan in 1918.

        >The name Azerbaijan was first adopted for the area of the present-day Republic of Azerbaijan by the government of Musavat in 1918, after the collapse of the Russian Empire, when the independent Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was established. Until then, the designation had been used exclusively to identify the adjacent region of contemporary northwestern Iran, while the area of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was formerly referred to as Arran and Shirvan.

Armenia and Azerbaijan tugged for the region of Nagorno-Karabakh for many years, arguing that it was ethnically this and that so it's mine. After a military conflict around 1990 Armenia effectively occupied the region while it's still internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan kept claiming the area, and once they got the money they started kicked the Armenian troops away a couple years ago. It was the biggest showcase of the Bayraktar drones before the war of Ukraine.

Russian troops came in as peacekeepers to help Armenia, but since the war of Ukraine started Azerbaijan resumed its attack, seeing that Russia can't do shit.

Azerbaijan is the one who granted Armenia the corridor to Nagarno-Karabakh proper in 2020. So I don't think they're cutting it off.

They're either going to man checkpoints to make sure Armenia/Russia doesn't send them weapons, or they're going to pressure the Artsakh nutjobs to stop constantly firing on Azerbaijani positions because whenever Azerbaijan responds to it, they get blamed for starting it because that's the default international media narrative.

The only reason the 2020 war even happened when it did is because PM Pashinyan and his Defense Minister, ever since they got elected, were openly talking about annexing more land from Azerbaijan and even from Turkey. There was even a clash in July 2020, and that was in the north, so it wasn't Azerbaijanis trying to liberate land but Armenians trying to take more land.

      >Azerbaijan was never part of the Ottoman Empire either.
The Shirvani people fought under the banner of Enver Pasha's army of the Caucasus. They consider the mystery meat kebab vendors from Anatolia as national heroes.

      >This march was written in honor of the Caucasian Islamic Army, sent by Enver Pasha under the leadership of Nuri Pasha, on September 15, 1918, to save Baku from Armenian occupation.
      >On this day, September 15th, Baku was freed from Armenian occupation
