        I would do that shit if I worked from home. Not rent if I was in a position to buy, but depending where you are, buy the place an hour outside of town, enjoy light traffic for the next 10 years, and in 15-20 years sell the house for triple.

        This area is getting so fricked as it grows. Miami-Dade is just a clusterfrick. Broward County is getting filled up, people used to go to Palm Beach County for cheap stuff, then it was the very north end of PBC, now you need to go even further north than that to get down on a decent single family home for <$300k

        But renting will frick you, the in-laws were paying $1800/mo for this apartment that wasn’t that great, it was a nice building but may have been mixed income or very immigrant heavy with 8 people splitting a 3 bed apartment, they just jacked the rent up to $3000/mo within a year and they had to move.

            By that house an hour outside of Nashville or Tampa or Austin and watch your property taxes go up and up over the next decade. An hour from downtown is like rural with medium sized big cities, but suburban with major metro areas. So if you’re somewhere like Nashville that’s on its way from regional city to big metropolis, that could be a great buy. You would be amazed how much swamp land gets developed every year or two in Florida.

            Buy it an hour from San Francisco, I don’t know what to tell you, commit insurance fraud and go find a place in TN

      I was amazed at how many condos are up for sale while looking at houses and the shit is confusing. $379k for the inside of a portion of this building and a ton of other HOA rules and fighting over who pays for the roof when yours is only 1/6 of the building..,

          Yeah but some of these HOA fees are $500/mo. I was looking at one townhome, I’m pretty sure it was 2 bros who browse Reddit a lot who lived there, and they were in the process of working on the roof and were telling me there’s still $1000 bill left to finish the roof on some $380k townhome and I noped out of that bullshit.

          I hate my landlord and intend on causing as much hidden damage as possible in this absolute shithole apartment, tbh.

          I have been without a shower for three days and it has been over 95 degrees these past three days. I'm going to withhold as many days rent as it takes to fix this fricking shower.

          I have a leak under the sink I discovered like 2 days after getting a 90-day notice and I just left that shit, I’m not going to fix it. I’m not concerned with my security deposit at this point because I have been here for 6 years and these people will likely nickel and dime me for everything. With the 90-day notice, by the time I finish closing on this new house, I’m only going to have like a week with both homes and I would much rather spend the time on the new place than working my ass off in the old place in the hopes that I get some of my deposit back.

      I own a rental, maintenance cost are factored in the rent. Mortgage+maintenance+taxes+utilities is the price I charge for rent, ad I'm bang average price for rentals in the area, so most likely every other landlord does the same. I also rent through a specific form of company, which allows me to tax deduct any spending on the apartment, so not only my tenants pay for everything, but the more there is to spend the more I save in taxes, I'm happy when my tenants ask to fix something, plus I can also buy stuff or pay contractors for work on my own house and charge it on the rental

      irrelevant, my house is worth the price of a garage box in the city one hour away.your rent is not cheaper than property tax where you live, which would be the comparison you'd use if you weren't coping. property tax which you are patying, except for your landlord instead of yourself. y

      If and when you move out put a chicken breast in a glass jar and add milk. Pull out an outlet, throw jar in wall, put outlet back. In a few months the house will be filled with a godawful stench for all of eternity, but you'll still have time to get your deposit back.

        When water enters a space it displaces the air already in the pipe. If there's nowhere for the air to go you will airlock the pipe which causes an extremely slow flow rate as the air eventually siphons out of the same place the water is. A vent keeps the system from developing that negative pressure

    Rentoids literally think you need to be at their beck and call for every little problem that they have.
    A few of my 'toids said that their ceiling was "collapsing" and that the center of the ceiling was sagging around 2 feet in their luxury 300 sqft 3 bedroom apartment (only 1000$ a month for each rentoid) and that they were scared to walk in the middle of the living room/bathroom. I told them they were being hysterical and emotional & they can just walk around it.
    Absolutely morons can't even think for themselves. It's simply not my problem. They shouldn't have signed the 3 year lease. They don't even tip me and they think I should help them lol. Pathetic
