All of these countries wanting Turk drones and Himars are all looking to fight the last war and not the next one.

The most likely next one for asian countries would be vs. China. How Ukraine is fighting isn’t too far off from how other smaller countries will have to fight against a bigger country like china.

With China you need to stop them from deploying. You cannot sit there and wait for them to build up and attack. Like Ukraine did with Russia.
You have to hit them as soon as they start moving troops since once China gets those huge numbers going they'll be impossible to stop.
So offense air interdiction and attacks on the logistics system.

China does not have the materiel and manpower to perform multiple beach landings like the IJA did 70+ years ago.

They're even skittish towards doing it to Taiwan, imagine doing it to US treaty allies or even SEA. They already lost against Vietnam so they won't bother with them anymore.

They're not going to park ships off the coast of the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore thinking they won't do anything.

          >China gets those huge numbers going they'll be impossible to stop.
Huge numbers of what? Their entire lynchpin of power isn’t going to be in their troop and armor numbers, it’s going to be their transport capabilities. Taiwan/Japan/other SE asian countries who are within china’s sphere’s number 1 focus should be naval defense and air/missile defense. Everything else is secondary if china can’t land enough troops, armor, or supplies, to fight intensive battles on someone’s home turf.
Russia’s bungling is embrassing, but China actually has a shitload more harder task ahead of them since most of their interests are across water.

The war in Ukraine shows an example of a confrontation between a smaller country and a larger one, which has not happened for many decades. In my opinion, the lessons of this war should be learned by all Asian countries with which China is going to have a conflict. Such as aerial reconnaissance, anti-ship complexes, strikes on logistics chains in the rear.

anon, everyone wanted to buy tanks, planes, machineguns and other inventions only after they were proven useful. not all armies seriously considered machineguns to be a must-have weapon, but russo-japanese war was a good showcase.
drones and precision rockets proved to be NECESSARY for modern force, so everyone wants those asap.

This, and countries like Japan really doesn't need this considering their budget and that they are an island nation.

People will keep buying cheap drones until an even cheaper anti-drone countermeasure is developed.

This was actually a serious post from someone:

        > Philippines Air Force should have go for Tejas instead. It was cheaper than F-16, reliable than terrorist JF-17 and at the same time more maneuverable and dangerous than F-22. Not to mentioned that Philippines already bought strategic BRAHMOS supersonic missile, which mean with BRAHMOS and Tejas combined, Philippines Armed Forces are the most feared in Asia.

The Philippines operates Turkish attack helicopters & drones. And very likely they will go for the Turkish jet drone

They're actually hoping to purchase their fighter jet from South Korea.
The Philippines operates Turkish helicopters, armored vehicles and small arms, but not drones.
Turkey and South Korea were competing to sell PH ships as well, but it went to Korea.
            https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Business-trends/Philippines-picks-South-Korea-over-Turkey-for-patrol-vessels

I think it would be very unwise for Turkey to sell drones of any kind to the Philippines, and should only sell weapons that PH could otherwise get from someone else. I feel the same way when it comes to drone sales to Rwanda and Togo, whom Bayraktar has already sold drones to. And I wouldn't want to see DR Congo, Mozambique, CAR, Uganda or Benin get them either.
Selling drones to Non-Muslim states, knowing they'll be used almost exclusively against Muslims (insurgents and civilians alike) is a horrible decision, and will eventually backfire on Turkey.
If there was a 15% chance of the Bayraktar brothers being assassinated before. It increases that to 35% easily.

Only reason the Philippines went for the T-129 ATAK was because Leonardo doesn't make the A-129 Mangusta anymore.

Even then the T-129 is obsolete junk and Turkey has new ones already.

The Philippines is interested with the TB-2 though and the Turks withheld selling it to them unless they buy some T-129s from them first.

Thats because OP didn't read the article at all because the article at all. This is talking about loiter munitions trials and has nothing to do with the TB-2.
This exact same thing happened a few months ago when Japan announced a ship borne UAV. The TB-3 was offered by Turkey and every Turk shit up
the board for a few days. In reality the TB-3 was offered with 0 response from Japan, then Japan started actually looking at the MQ-9B.
