I've recently bought a custom fitted plate suit, chainmail hauberk, longsword, and a sutton-hoo helmet. I've just been wondering if I should get ceramic plates to wear over the hauberk and under the plate so I can be protected from small arms fire?

I dont believe you
What brand of squire did you get
greek, of course. pre waxed even.
Is there a word for the fear of knights in armor with long swords? I feel like it has been genetically selected in my peasant ancestors’ gene pool for centuries by cutting down those that didn’t have it.
Yes anon, it's a mental illness called Not Owning Any Guns.
Panopliaphobia.
no you havent
post it
Liar
>Italian style plate
So you are one of those fags?
>Sutton hoo style helmet
>fitted plate suite
The Sutton hoo style helmet is more anachronistic to suit of plate armor than a suit of plate armor is to today. Why would you have a 750 year anachronism of a helmet? If you want a face on your helmet, get a grotesque visor for a sallet.
Sallet fags -- who happen to literally look like dickheads -- are totally insufferable.
Don't actually like them, only bring them up because it is historically accurate and its clear op wants to somehow incorporate heritage. The anglos do not have any unique helmet designs for plate equipment except for the coventry sallet. If op was not hung up on that I would shill the fuck out of bascinets
Besides what unique fucking english design would you recommend fag? Because I have looked and just about everything the anglo has used has either originated from italy or germanic city states.
yeah that's the case for european armor because those were the big production areas so they exported a lot and that had a lot of influence on styles
Yeah you're stuck with either disgusting German autism (sallets for everybody!) or clean, beautiful, iconic Italian designs.
I know which one I'm picking.
Really, the Italian designs look fit for heroes, whereas sallets are only fit for losers and trash mobs.
Bro, go all out and get an IOTV reworked in Sprang patterns to wear on top.
So you are an Anglo who does not know shit about your own kingdoms history of armour but you wanted something represented of your heritage by having a helmet from a completely different era? Instead of a sutton hoo you could have gone for a Coventry sallet to go with the rest of your plate. That way you are using a unique English helmet design which is not incongruous with the plate.
>a fucking costume store
Just one look at the brigandine they sell tells me all I need to know, I hope you didn't actually waste money on this crap. Unless you actually just want it for Halloween I guess but that is horrendously overpriced when you can get a legit set for only a little more.
I mean, if it fits, sure.
Would be hilarious for tyrone to try and magdump you, land 2 or 3 hits on center mass, then lose his shit because he thinks his glawk 40 can't pen medieval steel.
