Ssk-50 (new production G2 contender frame). Supposedly modernized with a bunch of shit like folding stock adapters. Announced like 4 fricking years ago, apparently it's finally™ coming Q1 this year

Yes, I will never forgive S&W for axing the best change-barrel single shot platform out there. I refuse to pay 300% boomer upcharge for a used frame on gb

    >factory converted to .308
Lol, I really hope you didn't pay too much for that. The factory made sporters on stripped actions in .30-06 and 8x57mm, but by the time .308 rolled around, that was long over.

If you actually have a carbine that is .380, it was either reamed out or rebarrelled by whoever. It may be a nice bubba, but it's a bubba all the same. How much did you pay and is it at least numbers matching?

        >my bubba isn't a bubba because Sam Cummings bubba'd it
When people say something was done at the "factory" they usually mean by the original manufacturer. Like I said, it's a good bubba, but still a bubba. Madsen did good work, it should be a nice shooter for you.

As a side note, if the barrels were rebored and you also reload, keep an eye on the brass's base. .308's base diameter is just a bit smaller than 6.5x55's. It's close enough to fit, but work brass can be liable to split there and end up with case head separation.

I don't know if that will be an issue for you, but it comes up with US made 6.5x55 brass using .30-06 blanks instead of properly sized brass.

Forgot to mention, I'm waiting on a 43x frame right now. State says I need to wait 3 days for a hypothetical murderous rage to cool off.

Bubba implies a redneck took a hacksaw and drill press to a rifle in his garage. It sure as shit doesn't apply to a conversion done on a production line numbering in thousands.

NTA, but some "production line conversions" were dogshit, others were just as good if not better than original manufacture, generally speaking. Just because something was done in a factory instead of someone's garage doesn't mean it is necessarily well done.

                Abit more complicated senpai...
Century imported mas49/56 using "french supllied" barrels are known to suck hard because lol gas system is hard

1st gen "valorisés" mas49/56 using 7,5x54 barrel with a chamber fret >>> they suck with anything that isn't m80 zpec high thick brass

Most mas49/56 and MSE ( DMR variant) with proper manurhin/ giat barrels >>> perfectly fine

Oh and mas49 56 are known to be designed for extremely hard military primers, commercial primzers are too soft so tou either :
Get military primers and m80 ball
                Or
Change steel firing pin for titanium firing pin ( something done on arsenal conversions, but not by century monkeys and french """"armuriers """" selling rebuilt garbage....

T, proud owner of a "privately seized" ( stolen then registrated after french law change) arsenal made 7,62x51 mas with apx4 scope

Having tried handloading for the 7,5X54, "YES" you need to use a primer with a heavy cup.

Although, the MAS 49 on unintended full auto was not at all uncontrollable. It ate all 10 rounds at about 500 RPM.

Using proper heavy cup CCI primers solved the issues.
