The guys at my LGS refuse to do sight replacements on them since Beretta apparently pushes them in with a hydraulic press and they’re impossible to replace

i like my RDO, i dont think the APX does anything better than the M&P 2.0 but it does have a more fun look. also i highly suggest getting the competition spring kit.

Is the APX a good and reliable handgun? Or should I go with a PDP, Glock, VP9 or whatever?
I can only own 1 handgun in my shithole so I need to choose wisely.

NTA but I have shot the PDP and while the trigger is great it’s the easily one of the snappiest and worst shooting polymer strikers currently. Walther really fricked up with the PDP.

Have you felt the spongebob trigger on any Glock? All polymer pistols have the same poopy trigger feel.

Nta, my first gun was a PPK/S, and only bought hammer fired until I got an M9-A2. I can honestly say, I didn’t even notice the trigger or reset when firing. I don’t have much experience with guns(became hasguns back in July), but these triggers seem perfectly acceptable for self defense. Comparing my 80x cheetah against the Steyr, and it’s night and day, but still serviceable for self defense.

          Anonymous

No im not, are you moronic? The A1 came out for the american civilian market because the original toblerone was not selling well here mainly because of visual complaints. The A1 was designed and released well after snig had already won the contract.

I had one back after they first came out. Loved it. Sold it to get a glock for “muh mag compatibility” didnt like the glock as much.

Managed to snag the tactical toblerone again for $225 on gunbroker. The shop mailed it literally swaddled in bubble wrap and tape (no box of any kind).

      Still love it.

It’s a great gun. I think you’d be happy with it.

BUT if you’re limited to one. Just go make love to all your options with your hands (maybe even shoot them) and pick that way.

Find the RDO version if you can. Beretta does not sell the RDO slide separately or if they do it's unobtanium. Only a few shops offer a slide cut due to the firing plunger that pops out the top. Aftermarket is limited to what Beretta sells themselves. I sold mine just because I was cutting my collection down to the bare minimum. But if I had to do it again I would buy the APX Centurion instead of the full-size. The Centurion is actually a little shorter than a 19. And I like the look better, the shorter slide fits the Toblerone aesthetic better.

      >Is the APX a good and reliable handgun?
yes but I would go with a glock just for the aftermarket holsters being huge

To offer a contrary viewpoint to the other replies, I have one and it's the only gun I actively want to sell. I bought it, put a few mags through it with constant failures to go into battery, and never shot it again. Also trigger safeties are unpleasant to me.

Just get the Glock bro. Best aftermarket and accessories, it’s what I’d choose if I could only get one handgun. There’s a reason Beretta has to sell the APX at half the price of a Glock (in America).

        >There’s a reason Beretta has to sell the APX at half the price of a Glock (in America).
Yes, too many moron overpaying for glocks and HKs and legacy designs

~$500 is the standard going price for a good polymer striker fired handgun, that’s how everyone prices theirs, and how much Beretta originally priced the APX before realizing they couldn’t compete with the other manufacturers at that price point. That’s why they dropped down into the Taurus/Ruger/PSA demographic.

sig is selling you a $200 handgun for $500, and so are most of the others. But hey, you know what they say about a fool and his money

Everyone knows that, it’s just the industry standard. Again, Beretta tried to do the exact same thing but couldn’t move any units. How much does an M17/M18 actually cost to produce? I thought I remember reading somewhere they were selling them at a loss.

It’s alright anon, just enjoy your APX/Turkshit/Taurus/Ruger at that price point. I’ll say the APX is definitely the best of the bunch, but if it’s just one gun like the original post we were replying to, I’d have to go with the Glock because of the expansive aftermarket/accessories.

Let me know when you find a RDO slide, or any aftermarket slide for the APX bro. You can’t because no one’s makes anything for your shitty little budget gun. Not to mention more expensive/harder to find magazines, holsters, etc.

I unironically liked the toblerone slide. The A1 is perhaps more conventionally good looking, but also more boring.

the toblerone is the superior apx because the slide has a dlc or something coating instead of the a1's cerakote finish.

It’s got brutal recoil, shooting feels like catching a punch with hotter loads, ammo is hard to find for 454, and 45lc feels so light it’s silly to shoot normally.. it looks like someone’s cartoonishly large drawing of a snubnose. But I absolutely love shooting this thing.
