        see? these idiots are real

far from it. unless you think a mosin nagant is in any way related to a mauser action.

I was looking at an war-time produced M38 last summer, the clerk (60s) literally called it a Mauser and said Mosins were the same thing "because it has a bolt".

That's when i first learned about this moronic phenomenon.

Since then, I went to some gunshows in Orlando asking tables with older guys if they had any Mauser action rifles, and they would point to some random bolt guns like ESL pajeets.

    >'Bbl' to denote barrel

      Anonymous

I always thought BBL stood for "bull barrel" but apparently it was an abbreviation commonly used for 42 gallon "blue barrels" of crude oil. Don't know if the everyday gun shooter actually knew this or if it spread due to people using an abbreviation to sound esoterically knowledgeable.

It was in use long before oil barrels.
It's a shipping abbreviation to distinguish barrels from bales. Bbl vs Bl

Any modern companies make those 20 round repro boxes of .45? They look cool.

Or heck can you still buy surplus 45? From that era? Sounds like it gets into boomer collector territory though.

Just heard it the other day. At Sportsman’s warehouse and one of the old boomer gun counter employees said clips instead of mags. Really through me off, but it doesn’t really matter. The word ammunition is also technically wrong, so everyone can relax
